Caught on Camera! In this LIVE Golf Lesson watch Liam a student of Danny Maude learn the difference between a driver swing and an iron swing. In an earlier golf lesson Liam learnt how to stop slicing his driver and instead hit driver straight. In fact he learnt how to hit a draw with driver. You can watch that lesson here 👉 • Golfer FIXES SLICE & g...
Now he needed a slightly different golf swing to strike irons well. One small change using a very simple golf tip Liam improved his consistency and in his own words created what ge described as an easy golf swing.

ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On CZcams and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

This golf lesson provides a couple of wonderful drills to help you hit your driver straight. If you are a beginner golfer and are looking for some golf driver tips that are simple and easy to do then you are going to love this.
I will show you the golf swing slow motion so that you can see what you need to do to improve.
We look at 3 things:
1. How to stop slicing your driver
2. How to swing more in to out or how to swing more inside out
3, How to get the correct impact position with driver
and I hope to do all this with simple golf tips so you can create an effortless golf swing
Hope you enjoy - Sport
An excellent, very helpful lesson.
I have been playing for 30 years & did NOT realise there were TWO swings.
I have had many lessons from professional golfers but nobody told me there was a difference
between a driver & an iron swing.
I knew I had to hit up with my driver & down with my irons.
Age 78 years & still learning.
Many thanks to Danny & Liam.
Pleasure Alan, it’s a subtle difference but there is a difference
Exactly the same here. Ive only recently started following Danny. Hes got me hooked
Danny has the unique ability to make golf a lot easier for average golfers.
He is very enthusiastic & has many original ways of showing how to play golf.@@rodneyhill7119
I really love how simple your lessons tend to be!! The simplicity allows me to take to range and gain feedback!
That’s awesome Carlos, the more awareness you can get of how you swing the better you will play
Big fan of Liam. And very relatable to us amateurs. Great tip to have the obstacle to avoid. Nice one DM. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Graham, all the best
At last someone has explained the difference as a simple visual analogy. That really helped. I have been working hard on my iron and they are improving; but like Liam my usually reliable driver has started to suffer.
Happy to help
Always love the lessons with Liam. I think I’ve been doing the same thing recently as well so this was a great video to watch!
Glad you enjoyed it Tom, hope you are keeping well
Showing his swing arc at the beginning was great. Then he listened carefully to your instruction and applied it. Having the obstacle helped him make the swing adjustment quickly. I could tell how pleased he was knowing there are different swing paths for irons and driver. Something I will be working on soon. I just found an indoor golf center in a city nearby, so I plan to try it while the ice melts around here (northern NY, near Montreal).
That’s great Rafa, hope this lesson helps you too
This is a must view to all, a great reminder about both swings. I've never seen Liam so quiet. The change in his iron swing was dramatic well done Danny.
Because he’s never been that quiet ever!!!
Thank you John
You're good golf mates! Really enjoy it when you pair up, you both bring something different to my game of golf and my enjoyment of it every time. Great stuff with bag to help correct the swing plane, thanks both.
Thats great, we have a good laugh too
Another simple yet excellent lesson. Thank you Danny and thumbs up to Liam
Hope it helps your golf Mark
I really appreciate Danny's teaching methods. They are very simple and easy to remember/put into action. I wish that I had found him earlier in my golfing "career"!
Morning Danny, another great lesson you never over complicate things wich for me like Liam is great. Love Liam's channel he's mad as a box of frogs but easy watching. Cheers
He is indeed 😁
Thank you for simplifying the swing instructions! Now out to the course and range to improve.
Great lesson. Thanks Danny 😎❤️⛳👌
Pleasure Carlos, all the best
Love your over the shoulder series. Liam is a great student and this lesson perfectly describes how the average Joe is on/off with irons/driver. Grooving the swings to what you are hitting is no more complicated than using a different swing for putting versus irons versus wedges versus driver versus fairways/hybrids. As we learn to adjust the game gathers it’s wonderful multi-dimensional aspect.
I think the variety of Shots we require in golf make it very interesting
Love the lessons with Liam, I can certainly relate to trying to use the same swing for both
Thanks Adam
Can’t tell you how much I wish you were here in the states. Absolutely fantastic stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it David
Amazing video as usual Danny! Love how simple you keep it the drills and swing thoughts. Keep up the great work. Cheers.
Thanks very much Richard, really appreciate the feedback
Literally had this lesson last week, after a few weeks off over Christmas and then being sick I couldn't hit my irons but driver was fine once you see it it's such an easy fix and makes a huge difference to your game. Looking forward to Liams videos now with his new iron swing because if he gets it like he did the driver he will be flying 👏
Thank you Keith
Great stuff Danny. Love the way you adapt your teaching to what works best for the student. This collaboration with Liam is great to watch.
Thank you Lindsay 👍
Once again Danny makes instruction easy to understand and follow.
A breath of fresh air compared to some “PGA class 1” coaches who do not differentiate between iron and driver swings
Liam is naturally funny and entertaining.
He really is Peter and a good fella too
Great video guys. The Morecambe and Wise of golf! Thnx Danny
Love it 😂
This is great! I struggled on my first few holes today and rewatched this as we went to 4. Finished with a 41 on front with multiple birdie putts. I was striking the irons so much better! Thank you sir
That’s awesome Ray thanks so much for taking the time to share
Nice one Danny. So glad you could help Liam...
Work still to do but we made a great start
Another superb video, and as usual, your passion for golf as well as teaching shines thru. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it Dr Deepak
2 of my favourite channels , yours & Liams . Great lesson that . Thanks
Thanks Stephen!
Awesome lesson Danny. So great to see Liam on there with you, he's such a great, decent person and the Golf Mates are highly entertaining. I'm so glad he's getting his swing sorted by you.
Thank you Stuart 🙏
Brilliant, as always. Thanks Danny and Liam!
You are very welcome Jon, have a great weekend
Hands down one of the best swing videos I've watched. You explain everything so simply.. i would love lessons with you. I would also love that simulator🤣
This used to be ME! Driver was a big sweeping draw. Irons, I struggled with consistent strike, and direction. I stepped in a little closer to the ball, at setup, and just visualized swinging steeper. Left tilt helps with this, on backswing. Also, raising my arms higher during backswing is a good thought. And, just like Danny said, think up, instead of around. Now, you’re in the perfect position(plane) for the downswing. Just swing down, under, and through. This is where right side bend comes in. The down part keeps me in posture, and stomp weight into my left foot. The under gives you the right side bend/left side extension. The through makes you not forget to rotate, and finish with hips open, and chest facing the target. This changed my game, in the last year, or so.
Thank you Jamie for your very helpful comment.
Step in closer & swing steeper.
Up rather than round. Raise arms higher for irons.
Loving these lessons with Liam. Excellent information.
Thanks Wayne
Two of my favorite utubers! Great lesson Danny!
Thanks Jerry
Another great video, such simple tips and relatable and instant results, brilliant!😉
Hope the tips are helping your golf too
Liam is gold.
He really is 👌
What a really cracking lesson. I guess we are all doing a "swing clean" at this time of year. I know I am. 1.00pm in our Swing Fit Studio this afternoon ar Barrow-In-Furness Golf Club. Bring it on!
Well done Liam that was epic.!
Thanks for taking the time to feedback James
I just realized this was Liam from GolfMates! I love their channel and yours, too. This is really cool.
Hi Danny, it's amazing how watching your videos is like a light going on and you helping Liam is just how I feel when he gets it.👍👍
Thanks Steven
Thanks for the video. Exactly what I needed to see.
Glad to hear it Brad!
Many thanks Danny. I cant believe Ive just been hitting regular draws today for the first time. More practice required, but I got a real buz from today whie practiceing. The above video and a couple of earlier ones
Danny Maude again demonstrates that he is the notch golf instructor! Liam is also a really good golfer!
Hi Robert, hope the golf lessons are helping

Great video again Danny, cheers
Glad you enjoyed it
great to see you working with Liam again Danny, how simple you make your lessons 👏👏
Thanks Jon appreciate the support!
Brilliant video yet again Danny ⛳⛳⛳⛳
Glad you enjoyed it Harry, all the best
Another great video and lesson. Been a subscriber for well over a year now and look forward to the weekly videos which help significantly. One of the things I still struggle with on course is hitting behind the ball with the irons. Can make perfect practice swings with bottom of swing ahead and all the proper movements in terms of take away, turn, weight shift etc. with your help. Put a ball down there and something changes. Any advice or other videos you can point me to. Thanks so much DM. You've been a huge help to my game.
Brilliant again Danny I can really relate to these tips when you use different levels in skill and take it in more like Liam when it’s more of a visual concept rather than having to get into this or that position.Thank you
No problem Pat !
Great explanation and video......and you managed to keep Liam quiet, which has got in itself to be worth a like !!!
Hey Danny, This lesson was the best think that ever happened to my iron swing. I hit 20 balls at the range then went to the course. I have been having problems hitting anything over a 7 iron and even problems with the short irons but this swing path correction made everything work. I was coming back too shallow and then correcting at the top. Thanks!
That’s great Tom well done and thanks for taking the time to share
Great instruction Danny. Simple & straightforward
Thanks Andy
Absolutely brill lesson. Made so easy. Thanks once again.
No problem Bobby
Great video, Danny. So helpful to understanding the difference in iron and driver swings. Thank you.
Thanks Bill
This is really a eyeopener for me. Thank you Danny all the way from the Netherlands!
Thank you Gerard 👋
Thanks Danny this was just what I was looking for this morning I am the other way but so relatable !
That’s great Mark, hope this lesson helps
perfect two of the best one for fun one for information could have done with this yesterday before going to the range will pass it on to friends and family who play
All the best Francis
Cracking lessons. I would love to see Danny and Liam on a course lesson vlog
Great advice, simple and easy to execute.
Thanks Gary 👍
Really really good! It sounds as if i have exactly the same problems as Liam. Following your "Dad's" lesson straightened my drive and this has become my go to club. My irons became so unreliable. With this this advice and looking back at your "Mix" lesson I am looking forward to getting back out on the course.
That’s great Michael, love to hear how you get on
Wow Danny! These client lessons are terrific. Greetings from San Antonio, Texas!
Greetings Kirk, all the best
Great video, thanks Danny.
No problem
OMG!! Danny the genius
The topspin and backspin analogy was amazing!! Wonders
Really happy to help
The 2 best golf channels combined love it
Thanks Andrew
I really love the tennis analogy Danny. Great swing Liam! Great visual! Thank you!
No problem!
Cracking video Danny fantastic to see Liam back on the channel cheers Peter
It was good fun to have him down
@@DanielMaude You always get him swing on the right path excuse the pun.
Brilliant lesson cheers Danny.
No problem!
Great video Danny. Thank you.
Also love watching Golf Mates channel.
Suggestion an on course match play lesson with Liam. Even adding in or keeping an eye habits creeping in as you get further in to a round as old habits tend to creep in as you get tired.
I think that would be a great idea Mark
Love Liam's channel for the fun of golf and yours for brilliant instruction. It's great when you get together, an amateur golfer having a lesson, so relatable to what a lot of us do and yes, I'm hitting my irons out the park but driver 😱😱 the feel has gone again, oh well back to the driving range with my pro, it will take him all of ten minutes and a few videos to put me right 👍
Thanks Peter
Excellent video!!! Well done!
Thank you Mark
Great simple drill and explanation. Well done.
Thank you Corey!
And yet another great video 👏👏👏
Really kind Terry, appreciate the feedback
Loved this lesson! Seems easier to digest in this format ....
Happy to hear it Joe
Thank you Danny and Liam.
No problem Raymond
Awesome video i've been struggling with driver the opposite to Liam, can't wait to go and practise now
You can do it!
My two favourite CZcamsrs. Fabulous video 👌🏻
Thanks for watching Nick, hope you enjoyed it
Amazing instructions Danny. I’ve had lessons before where I’ve been told to do drills, drills, drills. I’m not going to join the PGA I just wanna have fun. Your easy peasy instructions are first class mate. Cheers.
That’s great John
So simple. Great stuff.
Thank you Vincent
Cheers Danny and Liam. I've watched Liam's swing enough to easily notice this swing change.
More work to do but we’ve made a start 😁
Outstanding explanation!
Thank you
this was really good! thanks
No problem Jesse
As usual thanks for the great tips Danny. Really please with my driver swing now and told I have a shallow backswing for driver now and was trying to replicate it with irons and found I was hitting up on them. This video really shows me that I completely need to think of them differently. What you said about driver topspin tennis and irons backspin really triggers in my mind what I should visualise. Thanks
No problem Ray
Really great lesson again
Hope it helps Brian
Love it 😃 great work both of you 👍
Thanks for the support David
Hi Danny another great easy to follow lesson, thank you. All the best Trevor
Thanks Trevor
Great lesson I look forward to seeing the improvements on golf mates👍
Thanks Richard!
Great example of the two swings. Gives me something easy to work on and check on the range. Danny, would love to see you, Liam and OMP in a four hole match. Love both channels.
That would be fun
Perfect timing Danny. Exactly answered what I tried to ask. The difference in swings. I’d fine exactly the same as Liam but in reverse. Couldn’t regularly hit driver but was flushing the irons better than ever. Great video. Really helpful. And great to see Liam so “quiet” and attentive 😂😂
Thanks Colin happy to help
Greetings from Holland 🇳🇱
Everyone keep safe in the terrible weather !!
Thanks Danny for your Saturday lesson. ⛳️👍
And you Nigel, all the best
Awesome video
Love the golfmates channel
Thanks Anders
Really great video Danny, as Liam says, very relatable!
Thank you Rodger
Another excellent video! Enjoy it when you work with a person...before and after results!
Thanks Kenneth
Great video Danny, that looks like the fix I need for both my driver and irons👍
all the best Martyn
Great simple way to teach the proper swing path!
Glad it was helpful Bob
Very impactful because it's simple. And exactly what I have been doing with my iron swing, I've worked on the "over the top" move for years but no one has ever said that it is my body's correction for a too-flat backswing, thanks! Now, if I can only get that 240 carry driver swing. I've changed so much about my swing based on your lessons, I'm now knuckle-balling my driver (not swaying into impact formerly, so almost topping the ball with a good swing.) Thanks!
No problem Richard keep it up !
Danny , that wasthe full golg package in allin one video !! Cracking that mate 👏👏👏👏 and also a big up to liam !!!!
Glad you enjoyed it Liam, have a great weekend.
