As you may realize, I'm a full time swordsman, who is a swordsmanship teacher, test cutter, sharpener, sword designer and sparring sword maker. I actually use my sword to spar, to cut, and had dueled to the first blood once.
I look at swords mostly in functionality, but I still enjoy your stories very much, especially how you present them in a fair view. I enjoy high moral standard ppl's storytelling.

As always I enjoy the knowledge shared in this video.
The personality that koshirae present are often mirror images of its master, perhaps you can make a video on Koshirae in the future

I totally like how you morally criticize some questionable practices back then, including bragging about the possibility of slaughtering an elderly mountain refugee. I like how you are not just boasting the fame of the swords, but also bring an objective view to how terrible these stories were.
This shows you're an upright person, not blinded by the myth and hype of the swords.

ive got a hizen-to but mine is from a bit earlier being made during first gen tadayoshi time. it shows all the traits the hizen school was known for and is a quality blade. its a big wakizashi 21 inch nagasa. its not a famous sword and was not made by a well known smith. witch i don't mind at all. ive seen a number of blades signed tadayoshi that wer not what they claimed to be. my sword is an honest example and is one of my favorite swords in my humble lil collection

Well even during that time and even as far back as the 14th century, fakes and replicas were commonplace and were made by those who were confident that they could replicate the smithing techniques of the masters better than the masters' own disciples, maybe even the masters themselves. In some cases (one case by Tenta Mitsuyo and a lot of cases by the 1st generations of Izuminokami Kanesada and Horikawa Kunihiro) they brilliantly succeeded in upstaging the masters.

mmkai, where's the thumbnail sword? I came here to hear about that- seems it's just bait though. Don't bait, i dislike/block all baiters.
