We also check out the seaside town of Mahahual as we spend 3 days exploring this region of Mexico. what the heck!

You are standing on stromatolites at 2:23… You are supposed to go on a paddle board to that location and let yourself be carried away by the current DONT STEP ON THE STROMATOLITES … The restaurant “Los Rápidos” has no interest in preserving this treasure … Bacalar has the largest stromatolite reef in the world from 1,000-9,500 years old!when you step on them or touch them they die stromatolites are in charge of the transparency , blue color and purity of the lagoon.. for anyone going in the future please please do your research before going 🥺🥺🥺

oh no I was standing on SAND not the stromatolites, the drone video is of random people I saw - I am sorry about this. There is not many signs saying anything so it can be very hard to see where you can walk and where you cannot walk. But I don't think I was on them.....? either was I am sorry!

U can, no restrictions if your drone is under 250g in Mexico, same as the United States. Restricted is flight 9.2 kilometers ✈️🛫 of any airport. Any drone over 250g needs to be registered to Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil

Bacalar was way more beautiful before the hurrican season last year ..i went this year again and it wasnt really the same

Please do not promote the behavior you've exhibited in los rapidos. You are standing on the largest living freshwater stromatolites known to man. This behavior along with deforestation and poor wastewater infrastructure will be the end of these clear blue waters.
