- Bacalar Mexico really did a number on us! We thought that after visiting Punta Allen we would have a hard time finding anything like it, but Bacalar did not disappoint! Sure, it's not as secluded as a remote fishing village, but Bacalar offers the perfect balance between local and traveler friendly.
The Bacalar lagoon, known as the seven color lagoon is one of the most INCREDIBLE places we've ever seen, and in today's video we share how to watch the most beautiful sunrise from the lagoon (on your own) and the more local side of Bacalar. We were pleasantly surprised to find so many authentic Mexican restaurants in Bacalar!

Hola :) We just came back from Mexico!! 🇲🇽 It's really one of our favorite countries in the world. And we meant the Yucatan Peninsula, which was the name of our travel series. We visited all 3 different states in the YP and fell in love ❤️

We're going to Bacalar in about 2 weeks and I could not be more excited. I wish I had found your channel a few months ago. I've read that it's the next Tulum (hopefully in a good way). We first went to Tulum about 12 years ago - it was magical & we loved everything about it and have re-visited many times but sadly it has become overrun by people in general & instagrammers. I'm hoping Bacalar will hold that magic that we first experienced in Tulum. Makes me sad though. I hope Tulum becomes 'undiscovered' again soon.... Watching videos like this, I'm realizing I probably should've booked longer in Bacalar. P.S: Love your outfits, Aimara.
Hi Chloe! :) We had a great experience in Bacalar and we are on the same page... really hoping it doesn't become like Tulum 💔 I wish I had gone to Tulum that long ago, I'm sure it was an unspoiled paradise! I think you are going to enjoy Bacalar very much. It's such a chill place and the lagoon is STUNNING! Have so much fun and make the most out of your time there! We didn't show much about some of the restaurants but make sure to check out one called Barba Negra for apps & drinks! That's awesome to hear! Bacalar is so nice!! The lagoon is STUNNING! And yes, it's A LOT less busy than Tulum! It feels like one day it will be (hopefully not), but for now Bacalar has really cool local vibes and a very fun atmosphere. It's not too crazy ;)

It definitely is! Honestly, jumping in fresh water is the best! Don't miss a visit to Pirate's Canal! The colors there are the MOST BEAUTIFUL 😍
