"i have not seen you since the capitol riots" people should start using this as a conversation opener 😂😂😂😆😆😆😂😂😂
Que the spit take!
It's a great opener! 🤣
It's a good one. Almost as good as: I haven't seen you since the Antifa Roast. What's it been, five years?
@Matt manning They were mostly peaceful. The police were the ones that escalated the whole thing into violence in most cases. They did that on purpose. When the crowd turned violent because of police violence, the police had an excuse to break up the protests with even more violence.
@PJB Oh, and who was killed? A crazy, violent woman that wanted to break into the house, and a police officer, or two who were defending American democracy from the insurrection, from a coup.
"It's great to hear the pitter-patter of little feet. It's like when David Spade comes by." 🤣
Funny that the pitter patter was a motif used in the Only Murders in the Building S3 too :)
Martin may be getting older, but his humor and voice never aged.
Don't forget that smile 😁
@Chris Ducat what's wrong with his smile? It's cute.
@@biegebythesea6775 Nothing. It was clearly a positive comment.
In all fairness - I feel he's polished up a bit.
Marty arguably possesses one of the most underrated comedic minds. He always comes prepared and his delivery is impeccable.
You're absolutely right. Underrated and the delivery is so, so smooth and that impish grin after he knows he got off a good one just seals the deal.
He is not in any way underrated
I bet he has a high IQ
@@usergobble3259 I agree.
@eicktube and who exactly has a comedic mind ranked higher than Martin Short? Please give specific examples. You're throwing around the word "underrated" about a very famous and critically praised comedian. In what way is he underrated? I don't understand you
I noticed this a while back but it's been really noticeable in these final interviews where we see it back to back, but Conan is so beloved by his comedy peers and upcoming comedians for how he allows their creativity to flourish. So, it was really cool hearing Martin say it too. He puts on an act of being anything but, but Conan's humility in knowing that has always been something I truly admire about him. This comment was probably unnecessary but uh yeah, great dude.
have more faith in your comment! it was a nice thing to say, we all appreciate Conan and this is a great time to exchange thoughts on his impact. :)
@@frankinsaneandmyrrh1202 s
Bang on brother!
He is a comic genius. I never tire of watching him perform ❤️👏
Great comment... Conan is the greatest with comedians and writers because that's who he is at heart.
Can’t wait for the Martin Full Short Interview coming soon.
This will be top comment. Congratulations
I'm still hoping for the full Steve Martin Short interview
i see what you did..& love it 😉😂👍😎❤
@@superliljohn91 Yes, Steve & Martin Martin-Short. I was at the wedding - they served Short Martinis.
LMAOOOOO AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Short delivers jokes and insults with no effort at all. He's so funny.
He practices and prepares a lot - before a n appearance like this he has 5 x more jokes prepared than he ends up using - a real pro
@@johnanderson3731 Very astute observation. You in da biz?
I'm not a comedy historian by any means, but it feels very old school. One zinger after another, not caring because your comedy persona is a heartless SOB.
Like Groucho Marx or maybe an insult comic like Don Rickles.
@@johnanderson3731 I can see that but I don't really think he prepares that much. Decades of experience have trained his mind to see an opportunity and grab it. Being quick witted is probably like breathing to him at this point.
@@janeeyre1990 or Triumph the insult comic dog.
I love Martin Short ripping into Conan and I love even more that it always kills Conan when he does it.
It's always more meaningful when a friend roasts you than just a colleague.
True friendship goals. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
conan himself is always self deprecating so i guess he'll love it more when his friends roast him 🔥🔥🔥😂😂😂
I haven't heard Conan make a dig at Leno in years!!!! Hilarious
I came to grow a great deal of respect for Jay on his car channel. He surely has a deep love and respect for that world, and the people in it.
As happens with many groups of people I admire, bad management had the major blame.
Maybe Conan wouldn't accept the job, but until the situations were reversed, and with every staff of Conan dependent of that job, It's not as black and white situation as to Jay being the bad guy in that story, no matter how many celebrities were trying to look good by standing with the "victim" against the mob-proclaimed-oppressor.
@@MiguelBaptista1981 that car show is clearly a fluff piece to repair Leno's damaged reputation with the people. Yes i agree that not everything is black and white, but the whole NBC-Conan situation WAS black and white. Leno tried to be a messiah by announcing that he is giving the show away to Conan, only to then see a small window of opportunity and completely sabotage Conan's show.
@@MiguelBaptista1981 He still could have walked away, like he did later anyway. Something similar happened with Letterman years before, so he should have known better. He's not a horrible person, I don't hate him, but he should have bowed out gracefully and he would have been more respected. He deserves the criticism he still receives.
@@rsk47reviews59
A fluff ?
Yea. You have no idea what you're talking about.
You obviously never saw Jay's Garage (that existed before your so called "damaged reputation with people" hahaha ) nor his dedication, deep knowledge, and love for that world, the people in it, from the bottom down mechanics, to the top engineers, not only from the beginning of the XX century, but even from the steam era.
But none of that matters.
You're probably as much of a Chin-Man Bad as an Orange-Man Bad kinda person.
Good luck with life mate.
You're gonna need it.
@@solvseus
He could. But he would have also left his entire staff without job.
If the situations were reversed, you have no idea what Conan would do, as he has proven, I think, to be a good boss, the kind that also takes responsibility for his staff.
As Jay did.
I was in the audience of this interview. I was with this girl, and we were on our first date. The both of us were laughing so hard the entire time. Thanks for everything Team Conan! We'll never forget it :)
Nice first date!
Awesome first date! You should marry her!
Omg!!!! What an awesome first date!!!!!! 🥰🥰
Did she put up a fight?
Nice.
This is what happens when two genius comedians sit together.
And Conan’s not bad either.
3 geniuses.
@@jlbueno0611 I don't like your comment, I LOVE IT.
Conan isn't that funny, he's a comedy enabler.
"I mean I used to." Andy is so quick! 😂
"I mean I used to". Oh Andy. 😂😂🤣🤣 Always so quick.
"Not seen you since the capital riots" 🤣🤣
That floored me
What Martin Short said about Conan having "influenced more people in comedy that are superstars today than any human being. You are adored and worshipped and I hope you understand that" is so true, and self-effacing till the end, Conan doesn't fully understand just how true this is.
Omg I hope these people in the audience know how blessed they are to be able to attend these last days! What I wouldn’t give to be there!!!
The SNL part where Andy says "used to watch" comedically brilliant. Three perfect comedic timers in super sync. Kaboozed it wel
Andy with that remark killed me lmao... I wonder how many people caught that ?
YOU SEE WHY CONAN IS SO GREAT RIGHT??? He's making his guest the star, not him, when he's doing interviews. He lets the chat flows.
A la Johnny Carson
Martin Short is a force of nature. He's like a hurricane of comedy. The guy is amazing.
You really can’t put it any better way, lol.
I still can't believe that Martin Short, Billy Crystal, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer were only on SNL for ONE SEASON. It blows my mind because I remember so many things they did!
I remember things too...
It's so funny that you think I wouldn't know that. I know that!
I actually wrote that before I watched the clip.
It's a minkman!
Olympics, Synchronized Swimming!!
Martin's insults just never stops lmao
Martin Short is 70 years old....he looks at least 10-15 years younger here. Amazing.
And hes a genius I've been watching all his old Jiminy Glick stuff, it's so savagely funny!
23 minutes of pure hilarity. Two of the all time funniest humans enjoying each other's company. Conan's final season has been the best of his whole career.
Martin Short's wit has aged like a fine wine
I am now deep down the CZcams rabbit hole watching every single Martin Short interview I can find. What a gem of an entertainer!
From the opening line, you don't stop laughing 😂 A living legend
Martin Short is massively underrated, and I feel bad for young people who have yet to discover him.
Omg he just hits with joke after joke so flawlessly. Loved this interview
Can you post the full episode of the final show when it happens, us fans of Conan who aren’t from the US would love to watch the whole thing, anyone else agree?
As someone who lives in the U.S. and has to hunt down episodes of mock the week, taskmaster, and 8 out of 10 cats i fully agree with you.
@@angbald we seem to lead similar lives. BRITBOX IS YOUR FRIEND.
The on air episodes are actually mostly the interviews. The show only has a 30 minute slot so it ends up being a short introduction with a bit or a video of something Conan likes from the past. They post them here too. Your actually not missing anything but the commercials.
It is physically impossible for me to listen to Martin Short talk and not end up laughing hysterically. I think he's the most natural comedian I've ever seen, seems like everything he says is filled with humor.
I am 38 and it is hard to believe Conan has been on sense I was 10 years old. Craziness!
The world needs more Jiminy Glick.
And Ed Grimley.
My # 1 crush
Martin Short is the ultimate comedian's comedian--as well as an all round amazing entertainer and national treasure.
He's Canadian actually but I totally claim him as a national treasure for sure 😎👌💗✨
Marty Short is crazy, spontaneous, and naturally comical. There's nothing 'forced' about his humor, someone who is truly gifted. This is the first time I see Conan being genuine and laughing his heart out.
I was binge-watching the crap out of his old Conan interviews when I saw he was on last night XD
Funny I was wondering if it was the same song he sang to Letterman!
@@Javmon9 One of the all time best tributes to a broadcasting legend like Letterman. Will go down in history!
I do that too when I need a pick me up! He’s the best late night guest of all time.
Which is the best old Marty on Late Nite interview?
Holy crap. At about 17 and a half minutes in Martin Short gives him an actual compliment,,,,. Yes I know in real life they're actually good friends but Martin Short is the king of the backhanded compliment as you seen from the beginning of this video in particular to see him give us sincere actual compliment is kind of eerie to watch
Incredible. Martin Short and Norm were easily the two best guests to me
Must be something in the water in Canada that produces lightning fast comedic minds
Bill burr too.
@@cjlewis79 Burr was great too!
What about Kevin Nealon ? Also hilarious
And Kevin Nealan.
The opening line is one of the funniest I've heard on a while.
can’t believe steve martin, martin short and selena gomez are starring in Only Murders SO excited for this show!!! this is gonna be so good🤩
I like how Mr. Short has taken over the reigns of "tough interviewer" from the late Don Rickles. Just brilliant stuff. He's so damn quick.
Razor sharp..huge fan of both
Martin Short, on the one hand, is the world's biggest ham. At the same time he is possibly the most brilliant comedian of our time!
I'm in love with Martin Short.... He is perfection when it comes to comedy, I love how he comes out and is so exuberant and there's not a shy bone in his body I wish I could be like him 🤞 I wish I could know him 🌹🤞
Some comedians have mastered the comedic insult. Martin Short has mastered the *unexpected* comedic insult. 😂 Right when you think he's going in one direction, he makes it an insult-- and it's always hilarious!
Indeed
YESSS! Conan busted out the Jay impression! Martin Short is an absolute legend.
The Three Amigos, still up there as one of my favourite movies of all time!
ARE YOU THE SINGING BUSH!!!
@@yournamenotmyname3242 "forget it, let's just move on, he's obviously the singing bush. . . "
My little buttercup
Tell me, what does plethora mean?
Martin Short should come with a warning-do not drink any liquids while watching this man. because it will go up your nose.
I learned the hard way not to eat or drink when I'm listening to him. He's definitely a choking hazard 🤣 😂 💀
Though he has actually been doing it for a while, Marty has taken over for Don Rickles.
That's what I was thinking!
No he hasn’t
I dunno... I think Jeff Ross fills that role.
Martin is far too nice. Don would verbally stab you….deeply
I know what you mean, but they're a bit different. They both insult, but Marty does more organized jokes with punchlines, while Rickles was more of an off the cuff sarcastic, insulting attitude
Nobody makes me laugh like Martin Short, Thank you Canada for this treasure!!
I’m not lying, in the first 05 minutes or so you can literally see Conan transformed into his child self when he’s laughing. It takes a ridiculously amazing comedian to bring that child like joy on someone’s face
I love the joke about Steve Martin at a restaurant. He was a regular at a restaurant I worked at, and is probably the quietest people I even had the pleasure to wait on. I never get starstruck, but Steve Martin is a truly nice guy.
Short is that one friend who can crack you up every time and is so smug about it lol.
I’m pretty sure Martin Short is the funniest person alive
I love Martin Short, and for some reason, I'm very attracted to him even though he's 40 years older than me 🤣
Same 😂
I thought I was the only one…I’m 15 years old, and he makes my stomach flutter.
It’s because he’s funny 😊
Simply two of the best comedy writing and performing minds on the planet.
That joke about Leno being his last guest, had me laughing HYSTERICALLY for a GOOD 20 minutes! I actually had to pause the video, cuz I was laughing so hard!
He told Conan, “You look like if you bleach bleach.”💀🤣😂
Conan had a huge effect, maybe the biggest, on the rise of alternative rock and pop in the post-punk era. Some body needs to do a rundown of all the major bands he broke and all the careers he expanded in music.
i will actually do this.
I don't usually comment on things... But this is comic gold and it makes me happy
Marty short! the most prepared man in show business
Conan is apparently much loved by the comedy community. And I think that his final shows were still some of his best.
omg I love Conan's deep laugh in this. He loves Marty so much
I've loved Conan since I was 10 years old but these last few months have been some of his best interviews/content I've seen him put out. I hope he does more longform interviews like this on his next stop. Also, Martin Short absolutely murders here. I need to respect him more. Props Team CoCo. Looking forward to the next project.
Love how generous Conan is with other comics
He literally is becoming Jiminy Glick and I couldn't be more happy
Man that Jay Leno line i tell you
So true, Conan is so worshipped and adored, and he has no idea.
“I wanna congratulate you on a human note”
Conan is a lizard confirmed
No just Irish
I share Martin Short's birthday. Been a long-time fan. INNERSPACE!!!!!!
I’m only 16 but damn I love Martin short. He’s such a great and funny actor, especially in Santa Clause 3
His absolute peak!
Roasted by the great Martin Short; what an honor.
"I mean, I used to."
-well done, Andy! 💜
That thing with Martin Short and Andrea Martin was cool. SCTV was the best sketch show ever and it had some of the funniest people ever. Short, Martin, John Candy, Eugene Levy, Joe Flaherty, Dave Thomas, Rick Moranis, Catherine O'Hara were all there together. So many funny characters and memorable sketches. That beats SNL by a million miles, especially these days.
Omg the cardboards!!!! They're alive
this show IS magic!!! 😊❤
Two Titans of comedy. To be alive during their lifetimes is a great pleasure and honor.
Martin Short and Conan Tall.
Buddies to the end
And Alan too!
I love comedy in all its forms. These two and Chapelle are my three favorite in the gamut of the industry. On point every time, classy guys, and always put a smile on my face.
Thanks for this Conan!
"Those freckles are benign, right." Damn. That was the hardest read of all time.
It may also be a bit, but singing for Conan the song that was made for Letterman is a huge, huge compliment, I think. Both were absolute titans of late night, each very much in their own way.
Martin Short has been making me laugh for 40 years and now he makes my kids laugh as The Cat in the Hat.
I was so hoping as he started his song that he'd say "Give me a C, a bouncy C" 😂
It was another Canadian comic who played The Cat in the Hat - Mike Meyers. Both Short and Meyers are alumni of The Second City (Toronto) and SNL. Both hilarious and quick witted.
@@newtron1 Martin Short is the "Cat" on the PBS animated series.
I love Martin Short! Still one of my favorite comedians!
Marty is so ... something else! Honestly - just love him! A major talent! 🥰
Martin Short comparing you to David Letterman in his Tribune, is the Closest thing a comedian ever gets to entering a Comedy Hall of Fame !!!
Conan, it has been a True joy watching you for years... there were days that i was really depressed and it was ONLY and ONLY the Conan Skits that kept me going on. you're a True legend. thank you for your Good Heart and Great comedy !!!
Andy dying in the back 5:30 is the best !!! Marty kills!!!!
Can't wait for Norm Macdonald's last appearance .
Are you freaking kidding me?? Is that true?
Oh my god. That has to happen. It's not over until Norm.
Agreed!!! Bull Burr as well!!!
Norm will always be the best guest of all time. For all shows.
@@ltsgoyanks i think bill was already on
Ugh as a Canadian chick who grew up on the Rez we only had three sometimes four channels and SCTV and Kids In The Hall Was the Best!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
It is just a delight to see Conan with all his favourite people. God’s work it is. I love Martin Short, only thanks to Conan.
Martin Short is a comedians comedian! What a legend!!!!
What a terrific team for the final days of the show. Talk about comedy wit😊❤️
I got to see a live taping of Martin on Conan for my birthday a few years back. Good times.
I've always loved Martin Short, he's a comic genius..... much like Conan❤
This is the best interview ever
_...I must say._
Andy is the best sidekick and very underrated period!
Martin Short is so funny I'm in pain. Great to see him with Conan.
There's only you...to the shamrock shake at McD's had me rollin!!!
Conan and Martin Short are the best!
love the way older dudes tell jokes. I grew up watching these guys in their 30s and 40s, now they are in their 50's and 60's and they are even more funny then before with their legend status allowing them to speak for so long, so candidly hilarious
Would have been cool to see Max Weinberg on one of the last shows.
Martin Short lookin like a Wise Little Elf with his old age
I loooove how Martin Short always takes the interviews he's so much fun!
OMG, Short is nonstop hilarious. Conan is a great sport, lol
