#SNL #SteveMartin #MartinShort #SNL48 #BrandiCarlile - Komedie
The whole show could've been nothing but these two roasting the shit out of each other, and it still would've been one of the best shows in the history of SNL. Legends!!! I love that Selena has come to be so close to these guys. What an oddball trio.
They’re on a Hulu show together. For all you know it’s a put on for the camera. Don’t believe everything you see on TV.
@mikecantreed I really enjoyed "Only Murders..." but I thought the first season was the best 👌. I was talking about their Netflix stand up special, "Steve Martin and Martin Short: An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life." My mouth hurt from smiling and laughing the entire show 🤣
@@Sunshine_day The second season of "Only Murders" really wasn't that good at all, but I am still looking forward to the third season because of the really sweet chemistry that Martin, Short, and Lopez have with each other.
@@mikecantreed I've seen multiple interviews and discussions with the three of them, it's not a put-on. Selena is genuinely funny, and Martin and Short are some of the only people in the business that actually took notice, and worked her into something other than the "pop icon/sex symbol" stereotype that she had been shoehorned into.
She travels with them on tours that she has nothing to do with just to be in the crowd and hang out with them off-stage. The three of them are friends. They look out for each other.
Amen!!!
These two need to host the Oscars
With Selena would be great
Wow excellent idea!
@@shamanbeartwo3819 ^best take
If anything goes down it’s 2 against one
Will they slap each other?
Steve is 77 and Martin is 72...still hilarious and brilliant after all these years!
Thank you. I'm 67 and your comment made me feel younger.😁
Their stage presence and timing is unbeatable, and age doesn't change that.
@@wiseguymaybe , Dead men don't wear Plaid
Now they’re old enough to do make a bit of reading each others’ eulogies.
Not just here. I also saw them do it at the Hollywood Bowl over the summer.
Thanks for saving us the time of looking that info up
Best comedy I've seen on this show in awhile. Can't believe Steve Martin has hosted SNL 16 times! Makes the Five Timers Club look like an amateur group. We need Martin Short to host more.
Wow...and this was pretty weak stuff.
We need to get him for the Five-Timers Club.
This was tragically unfunny
@@lizardmandx I completely agree.
Not really fair to say only 3 time, he was a freaking cast member in 1984 so you can add all those appearances as well... ;-)
It's even better when these two are still friends after all these years
But neither have any intelligent humor
@@aajohnsoutube Did somebody piss in your beer?
Good grief. No one is funny to everyone. Can we all just agree that humor is highly subjective and that Aaron is off his rocker?
with the show only murders in the building it feels weird seeing those 2 together without selena gomez now 😂
@@aajohnsoutube You say they have no intelligent humor and someone else in the comments said the jokes were TOO intelligent... I hate people.
I had almost forgotten how to laugh out loud when someone was telling a joke, what a wonderful reminder they gave me. True legends of comedy.
I know what you mean, I’m gay too.
@@cry_now_laugh_laterthat made me laugh out loud too!
It’s almost weird how happy it makes me to see them together.
Like why right
Same. For those few moments the world felt like a safe place again.
Selena showing up was classic. SNL history is alive and well with Steve and Marty.
Both of them are SNL royalty....well done!
If you haven't seen the Only Murders in the Building, I highly recommend it, It's amazing.
I'm fresh off of binging and I LOVED it.
@@Southernblonde1310 How is Selena in that?
@@cambrie7946 She plays the straight man to Short and Martin, and honestly her deadpan snark is impeccable, as is her timing.
Yes really good!!!!
Yep! It's wonderful! It's so much fun and super creative.
If anyone here hasn't seen their stand up routine they've been doing for the last couple of years it's basically this and it's hilarious! They have a special on Netflix of it. This two are great together.
"Stepbrother to Jeezuuus!"
I just saw them in Rhode Island, hadn't seen this monologue before so it surprised me when I heard jokes from their stand up tour! Makes sense though, the bits and jokes are hilarious! Though now finding out that the same special is on Netflix for free... ah, it was still worth it to see them in person!
These two have been in comedy 50 years and I haven't laughed so hard at an episode of SNL for a long time.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
You've got to be kidding.
@@marcoparada6652 I'm seein'em TONIGHT! I'm so excited!
Steve Martin is the OG host of SNL. Since the beginning there has been no one better.
The best that Michaels ever hired. But then again, Michaels didn't hire Eddie Murphy.
Eddie Murphy?
Adam driver is the best host though
“But ACKTHUALY”

Martin Short is hysterically funny. Love!
He is fantastic.
I love his smile
@@nicolec8884 yeh he's cute
I love these two so much. I can't believe Steve is 77 and Short is 72. The way they jumped off that step, I would have needed a hip replaced. 😆They are truly comedic geniuses. Legends.
This was the best monologue! Thank you for bringing these two back. I can't believe Martin Short only hosted 3 times. That seems impossible. Glad he's here now.
martin short was in the actual cast. ed grimley
Ed Grimley was one of my all time favorite characters.
Marty is the only person that appears on TV and makes me laugh out loud.
There used to be several comics that funny. Now it’s only Marty.
(And Steve when they’re together.)
@@BaseballPlayer0 True, that could be why less hosting for Martin Short. I mean Steve Martin was also in the actual cast, but that was much earlier on. So he was probably doing a lot of guest hosting during Short's time too.
@@jadecovehealing5636 Actually, that's a common misconception. Martin was never in the cast.

So good to see these two wild and crazy guys host together. It is wonderful to see these two friends having such a fun time on stage together.
Shame Chevy Chase wouldn't join them for a little "3 Amigos" love.
The "two wild and crazy guys" are Steve Martin and Dan Akroyd.
@@allanbard6048 Something tells me Chevy Chase isn't friends with anyone from his early years.

Steve Martin has the best comedic timing. He’s a genius. Martin Short is delightful.

Absolute legends back on SNL!
This was a great treat for the holidays. Glad to see Selena doing well. She has two amazing mentors.
Only Murders in the Building is a well written and extremely funny show.

They need to come back next week to put Marty in the 5-timer club and Steve on top of the hosting list.
Who is ahead of Steve?
@@lissahaddock2494 Alec Baldwin has hosted 17 times, just barely above Steve Martin's 16.

Steve Martin Short is utterly the best!! What a great night!
Yeah, they really did drop the ball with not announcing it that way.
Praise Steve Martin and Martin Short, for as long as they live, on this planet! 🌎👏😃
Only Murders in the building is my favorite show these past couple years. There is so much chemistry with these two, kind of magical
Selena Gomez stopping by was the cutest thing ever!!
I was hoping she would appear

2 legends that I’ve had the pleasure of growing up in the 80’s and have seen them since inception- Genuinely hilarious- Still making me smile and laugh! ❤️
He was my favorite actor back then. He mostly did physical humor, which I love. ❤️🤟🏻
Didn’t realize they were in Inception.
Love them both together
This is a masterclass in joke writing. Short, precise, direct zingers. Proof that Shakespeare was right: brevity is indeed the soul of wit.
These two are so iconic, they could host every award show and I would never get bored. They are so funny without trying. Thank you guys for the much needed laughs. 🤗🤗

This year has been very difficult for me. So many challenges. Heart breaking moments. A few months ago my Dad passed away unexpectedly. He was very ill. And well this holiday season will be difficult for me and my Mom. Today is my last day as a 26 year old. This hilarious monologue from my favorite comedy actors is the best birthday present ever! Such a treat to have these two legends return.
Martin's in great shape for closing in on 80.

So smart and enjoyable to have them pair up, like old '80s bands touring together to still bring the crowds and attention. Knowing that they added Selena to their TV show actually makes me want to download a few episodes to see if it matches up to that TV special of theirs I was supposed to have forgotten about.
there are some hits and misses but overall net positive. If you like classic mysteries, you'll enjoy it. The chemistry or the three is undeniable and that's what's affectuous
only murders in the building is one of the best tv shows in a long time. But it is a story, so you can just watch an episode here and there. You'll miss the narrative. It's not a variety show.
