That’s good I had same issue but got whole new cables for £20-30 quid I can’t remember exactly ££, the hardest part of installing it was getting the cable the right way round and when you push through the bulk head as on the st150 the bloody exhaust and heat shield was in the way think I loosens and bent heat shield out of the way and with a few grazed knuckles completed the task and now I have new cables and good smooth changes

hello mate could you tell me if the cream coloured top linkage has a circlip or a washer over the metal rod it slips over and onto? i was driving and put it in 3rd gear and the whole gearbox went sloppy with no gear changes available. we put a temporary circlip over the end of the rod where the top mechanism sits but we're not sure about which type of clip should go on it? if you guys could help I'd be most greatful

I know next to nothing about cars, but superglue does not bond for very long, moisture will soon penetrate where the two surfaces are bonded & probably cause the glue to fail, in case that matters

Indeed which is why you choose a strong adhesive. The cable does not hold the gearbox in gear it simply pulls it into the next gear just like a motorbike gearbox, so if the gear linkage did fall away from the bushing then worst case scenario you would have to depress the clutch and turn the engine off and recover the vehicle, it wouldn't do any damage particularly

If anybody has this problem on a megane II,there's a guy does a gear actuator upgrade kit and it absolutely transformed the car!!
It was without doubt the most impressive upgrade i ever done on any car, makes it a shorter shift and so precise!
Before my heart was in my mouth going into 3rd as i often hit 1st,and on a performance car, megane rs225,this wasn't fun!! :-)
