Actually the whole Google Glass thing is alive and well in manufacturing, especially Aerospace. Basically they are assisted with augmented reality overlays to vastly increase accuracy and speed when building aircraft.
Not really. The inventor Dean Kamen is still alive and doing well. It's the guy who bought the company, Jim Hedelsen (I think that's the name) who drove his segway off a cliff and died.
I wonder how many people got the reference at the end of this episode.... Daphne being chased by niles in slightly sped up footage. Jane Leeves had been a "Benny Hill girl" on UK TV, where the end to many shows was Benny chasing or being chased by other cast members, usually scantily clad women.
No segway but still plenty of things that have in partial been inspired by it. Hoverboard (motorized skate board), electric bike, electric scooter, electric unicycle but there's no seat and you just stand in the pedals. All things to get people moving with minimum effort.
Segway laid the ground for cheaper toys like hoverboard and ninebot. Segway was way to expensive for the common costumer. Was it around 1038 dollar for a segway original.
I think hes super cool . Right down to the English sports car driver cap . He should drive a Morgan . Go , Niles !
Waiter: “It’s on the house. We love the machine.” Hahahahaha
Just like Google glasses segway disappeared. Frasier got the last laugh.

Ghey.
the driving gloves lol
"Let's all paint our bottoms and run to the sandwich shop!"
*snork* And now the Segway is barely a footnote in history. . .
what happened to that guy who invented the segway, dean kamen?
…kamen went
He looks great .
The owner of the company drove off a mountain in a Segway
More people remember Niles than remember the Segway.
@@jeffreysmall8902 not the inventor he bought the company and it was a cliff not a mountain
Fun fact the person who invented the Segway actually died by their own creation.

I loved it when Daphne stole it at the end
niles on form with patent leather driving gloves
I'm pretty sure any coffee shop would have not allowed that in the shop

Like those motorized carts in Wal-mart. Initially for use by handicapped shoppers Now used by morbidly obese and fat lazy shoppers.
@@jasonito23 USA keeps surprising me. We don't have anything like that in our supermarkets.
Actually, the electric bike and scooter pre-date the Segway by quite awhile.
@@limerence8365 nobody uses any of those in supermarkets in the US. Not sure what supermarkets have to do with anything.

How old is this? They predicted the future like ABC!
It was from early 2002, so probably filmed in 2001.
April 9, 2002 to be specific.
How so? This tool of productivity didn't make it.

Lol! Now no one uses a segway
I actually saw a few people using them in Portland a few years ago.

Who else is here because they announced that they’re discontinuing the Segway?🤣🤣🤣

I guess they weren't leading to anything else, after all.
