- Talking about should you still buy the iPhone 12 mini in 2022 and 2023. Is it still a good choice? This is my updated iPhone 12 mini review!
iPhone 12 mini came out in 2020 along with the regular iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 pro max. It was the first compact flagship from Apple, and I'm trying to find out of it is still a good choice and should you buy the iPhone 12 mini more than a year later in 2022 and even in 2023.
It has great camera capabilities, a really fast and reliable chip (A14 Bionic), and a lot of other things going for it. On the other hand, there are some drawbacks when it comes to the iPhone 12 mini, especially in the battery department. Not the greatest battery life in this one.
Check out the video to find out if it is still a good choice in 2023 or should you maybe go with the iPhone 13 mini instead, or maybe a regular iPhone 12 or iPhone 13.

I have a 12 mini. it is perfectly fine for battery if you change some settings.. backround refresh, locations for the unused ones, keeping on only location for find my iphone and emergency calls. otherwise they tend to drain your battery . i do this to all of my iphones and it improves them all..
Nice! Yeah, those things definitely improve battery life quite a lot.

Great video review, Pedja! I’m still using my iPhone SE 1st gen and I’m looking to upgrade with the same form factor in the next few of weeks. I wasn’t really sure if I should go with the 13 mini altogether, but in Mexico, my country, there’s a $150 USD difference within 12 mini and 13 mini. I don’t mind base storage, since my phone is only 32 GB. I guess I’ll pick up the 12 mini. Cheers and thank you!

I use a battery case in my iPhone SE 2020 and the battery isn't a issue anymore. The mini would benefit from one as well making it a little power house.
Yeah with a battery pack 12 is almost a perfect compact phone imo

what is the case you are using?
I was rocking the 5s until about a week ago and upgraded to this guy. The 5s was easy to fix, I switched the battery at least 4 times and the screen twice, the batteries were like 50 -60 bucks 6 years ago but now they're like 20-30, and same price for a digitizer/screen. Lost it at a friends house like a year ago and they were like just buy a new phone man - you don 't get it I built taht phone lol! It's my baby! I am looking at tutorials for this one and it seems very similar, so lets hope I get 10 years out of this bad boy too!

I have 8 hours screen on time on average. I want it to last till 7 pm. I usually use my android phone till 10pm. Is that a realistic expectation?

Assuming that big difference between 13 and 12 mini are just battery life, which is best for daily usage (CZcams / Netflix streaming, social media, definitely not gaming) which one is best for long term?
My wife has been using 6s plus for past 4 years, with battery replacement at some point. I want to gift her a latest iphone that will last for a long time (4-5 years in future)? Same 128 GB storage for comparison
They are both great actually, it depends on your budget I guess. If you're looking to get a 128gb version, maybe go with the 13 since the price difference is not that big for that storage option. If there is a bigger difference where you're from since prices vary depending on the country, 12 mini is great as well. Coming from a 6s plus, both are gonna be a huge improvement, you can't go wrong with either one.

Honestly, I would still go with the 12 mini. SE 2022 is basically the same as the previous one + it has 5G, but the 12 mini does as well. I wouldn't recommend SE 2022 to most people at this point. Making a video about that right now btw, should be out in a few days.
From where I live they cost $100 more, the 12 mini 64gb cost $787 and the 128gb cost $845 and I was planning to buy it this month or february or I could just wait for the price to drop when the new iphone 14 comes in, what do you guys think?
I would pick it up now, October is far away 😂 But if you don't mind waiting, there should be a price drop when the 14 lineup comes out for sure. Maybe take a look at Apple refurbished deals, they are pretty much brand new and come at a lower price.
But is it worth the price for $787? The 13's exceeds my budget while the 11 is $650 but the 11 is just a no for me
I’m loving my iPhone 12 Mini from all perspective except for it’s battery life.
Yeah the battery can be a problem occasionally but it's a great phone aside from that. Thinking about picking up a magsafe power bank to go with it
I've tuned mine up with dark mode, turned off 'motion' wake up, and background apps, etc. (there are tons of video's)
Nothing to take away the user experience, but really stretches battery life
I do not know, perhaps I did a mistake, I purchased it. I works as a phone flawlessly. I charge it every 3 days. Maybe a regular iPhone stays for a week, but 3 days is okay with me.
No, definitely not a mistake. It's a great phone, I use it as my main device and it's pretty nice all around. Battery is the only downside to it basically and since you don't have an issue with it, I'd say you made a good choice! Don't know how you get it to last 3 days tho, that's just amazing (and strange) 😂 Guess you don't use your phone that much 😀

Sure, I don't see why not! Another good choice would be iPhone SE 2 and SE 3 imo. They're a bit cheaper but still have all the functions of the 12.
