“A child that is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.”
i am sorry but this villain has the dumbest motivation of all.
Going by the fact that he had so much Mr. Incredible memorabilia, and had the time and resources to create his gadgets as a kid, I think he was "embraced" pretty well. He just wanted more, and became petulant when someone dared tell him no.
@@Tylendal242 having gadgets and a lot of expensive stuff doesn’t really mean anything compared to human embrace.
@@oliverrasmusson2362 I'm saying he was probably supported by his parents. The issue is he wanted to be given what he demanded from Mr. Incredible.
@@Tylendal242you believe all rich kids are loved?
Really liked the part when Dash said something very similar to Syndrome. His mom says something like “everyone is special, Dash” and then he says, “that’s like another way of saying no ones special” compared to Syndrome saying “and when everyone is super…no one will be”.
Here’s a reply
I didn’t understand that.
@@CTladiesmanif everyone is special,no one is. Since being special is having something only you have,or that a small part of ppl have. Syndrome plan is to send his weapons all around the world once he is old and bored,so anyone that buys his superhero tech, can be a super/can be special. If anyone can be a hero/special by only buying, then no one really is special
The villain who captures “never meet your heroes” all too well, and nearly mentally broke his former idol to nothing. Like damn
That's how I used to think, too. But Jim Carrey and Steve Vai are awesome IRL and don't get me started on the breakfast queen
Syndrome is honestly horrifying and it's great. What starts as a dismissed kid turns into a murderous, child stealing megalomaniac on a rampage. For what's meant to be just a kid's animated movie, Syndrome is very dark.
Even as a kid he showed signs of sociopathy, in his memory Bon Voyage isn't present, its all about him
He was such a compelling villain, and this was Pixar's best film. Easily.
true
Nah
Ratatouille:
If this was Pixar’s example of villain then it’s really badly portrayed
He is the best Pixar vllain. But Up, Wall E, Finding Nemo, etc are all better movies than the Incredibles.
As kids we love heroes, as adults we understand villains.

I still don’t understand Joker
@@hotrodthe1he's only understandable in the 2019 movie
yeah, but not this villain
Syndrome was an interesting villain as a kid. As an adult it's such a scary villain.
Mr. Incredible had justified reasons to reject Buddy
1. Buddy was just a boy with no powers of his own
2. Buddy was reckless and nearly got himself and others killed, even if Mr. Incredible allowed Buddy to be his sidekick he would make a poor partner.
3. Buddy's obsession with Mr. Incredible went too far to the point where he started stalking him. He only idolized Mr. Incredible for his fame and not for his heroic deeds.
Syndrome was an irredeemable villain who had a pretty grudge against Superheroes and killed dozens of Supers out of resentment
I saw him as lame as a kid now i feel pity for him
@@francisabellana445 i don't feel pity for him cause as a boy he was harassing mr. Incredible, Buddy's reluctance to leave a crime scene allowed a villain to escape and nearly caused a train full of passengers to derail. Syndrome had a very selective recollection of the events he only recalls the part where Mr. Incredible rejects him but doesn't recollect the part where he almost got himself and others killed. Syndrome didn't want to be a hero to save people he just wanted attention
@@josefengelhardt2767ll of these are reasons that justify Mr. Incredible guiding him aka mentorship.
When I watched The Incredibles as a kid, I didn't realize just how scary Syndrome really was. Dude was basically a serial killer.
@TheMC1102
Yeah as far as villains go, Syndrome is heavily underrated. I mean I get why, he's a one-off movie villain, but still.
Like you said, dude's basically a serial killer, and one with the intellect of Lex Luthor or Dr. Doom.
@@DemonicRemption and Dr Gero 😂
Kind of unreal that Disney allows the villains to die in such a fashion. A brutal death to be sure, even for a kids movie.
If you look for information about the supers he killed, you'll realize that half of them were daffodils, alcoholics and even nymphobes, and the died by shooting, tearing apart, blowing up and drowning. They all are the perfect addition to The Boys series and it shows that the world of The Incredibles is way deeper than you think.
The Incredibles was released before Disney bought Pixar, so that might explain a bit.
@@SirLordKitten Disney has always owned the rights to their first (x) unique movie franchises, they only bought them because that contract was expiring.

Syndrome was such a great villain as he mirrors Mr. Incredible in that they both wished to be heroes, seeing it was a way to have meaning in their lives, and to be special. In fact, alot of heroes seemed to have that mindset as how else did he lure them to his island? Bob sees a twisted version of that need to be super, to be better then others, to express their true talents and stand over the rest as Syndrome with JUST his gauntlets is nigh unstoppable, but he wanted more.
Loving these animated tributes

Superb! Syndrome is an incredible (no puns intended) villain. He even makes a point about villains monologuing right before the hero and his name is literally a representation of what he is.
Syndrome was such a good villain.
I remember that even as a kid I always wondered what was the thing that made Syndrome "evil", and was not so sure of the answer. Sure his manners were brutal and violent, but he made a lot of fair points on why he acted like that and what moved his will. Those types of villains are the best. They are not just purposeless bullies, they are logical beings that almost make you feel like their way of seeing the world makes sense.
Syndrome is a disturbingly accurate depiction of toxic fanbase. He had no fair points, he just wanted to declare war because he didn't get what he wanted, like a toxic fan would do against his favourite saga because they didn't give him what he wanted.
@@jorgebersabe293 He was kinda toxic but Mr Incredible was also unnecessarily rude to him. I can understand the origin of Syndrome's madness: he saw Mr Incredible just as a "lucky one" who got special powers without any merit and didn't even understand the pain of not having them but wanting to help anyway.
Makes sense since there was supposed to be another villain and that Syndrome was just the opening one to beat.
So they mixed both, but the flaws of the other villain was overridden, so only the actual genocide part of the supers remain.
@@jorgebersabe293 He actually did. The guy was a genius and he was happy to just be his sidekick and Bob was wrong to treat him as he did because his "I fly solo" act. Syndrome is a monster of his own making. It's the embodiment of the phrase "Never meet your heroes". He did terrible things yes, but we cannot gloss over how Bob's treatment of him didn't help set him on that darker path.
@@francesco5254 Mr. Incredible wasn't unnecesarily rude to Buddy. In fact, Buddy was stalking him and constantly disrespecting his boundaries. And telling him I work alone was a very responsible thing to do. Besides, Buddy wanted the perks of being a superhero (fame, glory, recognition) but not the responsibilities (helping others)
damn Syndrome might be the best villain Pixar has done
"and when everyone is super, no one will be."
dude that hits so hard
"SO now you respect me, because I'm now a threat." I felt this moment everyday and everytime. My former bullies that is my former batchmates and former colleagues are always telling me that they thought "I am intimidating" because of my career path right now. I never even posted anything nor bragged about my work. I was only tagged by my coworkers so they see it on their timeline. I just wanted to greet and meetup with my batchmates. Being introverted is hard and very tough. I never even considered my career a success. 😓
Wish my mom is still here right now with us and listening everyday. But I have to keep moving forward to pursue her dreams and ours. Keep moving forward!
Buddy Pine/Syndrome is an underrated wanted-to-be sidekick turned villain but he's recognizable by all. He only wanted to be alongside Bob during the crime fighting and help him but he was rejected twice, Bob's pride got the better of him and look where that got Buddy. If he let Buddy be his sidekick, things would've been totally different - let alone his inventions would have helped in the future.
Mr Incredible never liked Buddy Pine as his sidekick.
Wrong, I don't think Mr. Incredible had an ego (at least in the sense he was allegedly being prideful towards Buddy). He was trying to keep buddy safe. Their last interaction was Mr. Incredible literally saving Buddy's life. Imagine a 10 year old going up to a cop and saying he wanted to be the cop's sidekick. Yeah, the officer probably wouldn't be as cold to the kid (as Bob was in the movie), but would say something along the lines of "crimefighting is dangerous kid, stay in school" which is literally what Bob was getting at.
Don't blame Mr.Incredible because of his "pride?", dude he is a responsible hero and being strict to buddy because of his choices of want to be his sidekick or hero. Buddy is no hero.
One of the greatest villains ever

He was just an angry man child

Spider-man: see that miles that’s why Spider-Man don’t wear a cape
The fact is that what Dash and Syndrome said is so solid, because it's like that you are not special if you don't show how much you are. "Everyone is special", ok, but don't live to repress it. "That's like another way of saying no one is special" because no one shows it and fit to something that doesn't exist, which is normality, to please the others. It's a mask when you say "I'm special" and you don't show it and accept that others want you to repress yourself and you let them. The same is for heroes: you are a hero? Ok, show me, save someone, be good to your family. If you don't and you care for others reaction (so you repress yourself) then you are NOT a hero.
I’m almost ashamed to admit I had a Syndrome arch once. I was a fan of someone for a very long time and was a highly respected member among their community. One day I found out they were doing some pretty weird stuff and I confronted them on it and they banned me. I pleaded with them and apologized and asked them to give me another chance and they never did and he successfully silenced me and left me in the dark. Well about a year later I shared the information and it gained tons of traction with over a million people seeing it. He confronted me on this and claimed it was stalking behavior and lied about some things and sent his community after me and they harassed me telling me to kill myself. Although I’ll never forgot and probably never forgive them for that, the obsession of getting “even” was unhealthy and I’ve moved on.
Аж до мурашек пробрало во второй половине видео, твои скиллы монтажа просто великолепны

Plot twist. Syndrome power was his inteligence.
Him and Tai Lung are the only villains I actually felt sorry for.
Both of them are my number one villains in Dreamworks and Pixar
Both of them were denied by the higher people.
They have waited for a long years for their plot.
They both turned into maniacs

Its sad that they let him die at the end of the movie. He hat so much potential.
"The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth". -African Proverb
I waited 14 years for Incredibles 2. Really hoped for an background on Mirage and how she met Syndrome. Also to see power development in the kids.
This villian is most pure evil
As a kid, I never realized how hurt he really was by his hero. He only wanted to help and got rejected. That would crush me to pieces too...
@delighted9062 The problem is he NEVER did any inward reflection. His “flashback” proves this. His actions that night very nearly killed him, he put countless civilian lives in danger, let a dangerous criminal escape, and turned society against REAL superheroes. Yet he’s somehow the only one who got shafted…
Help? Does he even care about people?
Loved how he explains respect like power. Power is what earns everything.
“You really think a crown gives you power?”
“How do you think i got rich? I invented weapons.”
“Power isn’t this 👊. Power is the ability to bend the world to your will.”
Keep going with these uploads they're absolutely amazing

This just reminds me of Garou from OPM. The guy saw the villain for who they were not just through the narrative. He saw the unfairness of this charade and cheered the little for the little guy
Oh wow this is amazing ! I had the same idea, glad to see another person doing an AMV of him !
Perhaps his biggest mistake is still entangled with the people or things he once cared about most.
you mean to say he should have treated him the same way he did to others heroes he assassinated ?
if i am not correct... please elaborate your meaning
So I never saw this movie, but...
Mysterio story from MCU was clearly inspired by this one guy.
You definitely need to watch it, probably Pixar’s greatest movie. Its surprisingly dark and realistic for a super hero movie, and is centered around logical criticisms of the genre as a whole without being a total deconstruction.
The idea of pretending to be hero or causing attack to save it. Isn't really that original idea. Also their means were similar but their end goals were different. Syndrome wanted to fake an attack to become the new hero to sell his inventions and weapons. Kind of like advertising. Than he wanted either Society become all the same so no one special or he wanted society to tear itself apart with everyone fighting each other with these weapons. Causing world level chaos. As supers naturally destroy themselves so therefore society will destroy itself.
Mysterio just wanted fame to boost his ego and God complex. Causing more and more worst attacks to make him seem like greatest hero ever.
A delusional idiot who murders children? Yup he was lol

Anybody else think that his story during the 15 years would have been interesting to see? I often wondered about how he was growing up. You know, after what happened that day with Mr. Incredible but before he officially became Syndrome.

I relate way too much
I visited my English professor after graduation and talked to her thanking her (she saved my life and educational future)
I later dreamt her mom dies and got severe anxiety. Lost my mind as there was no way to check. Months later i met her and it was true. The woman had no family left. I felt immense guilt and responsibility to help her as she always did with me. But my mental state broke and i had OCD.
I would visit her, support her, help her and got her gifts. She loved me like a son and she was a mentor/hero figure that i needed.
One day i visit per her request and when i talked a friend of her insulted me and she didnt defend me. She let me be humiliated, only bad thing i did was visit her because i wanted to help.
I am on meds, and i am not getting better.
There is way more to the story but lets hope that we fix what broke.
