  • I cannot wait to use this versatile ground station in (almost) every FPV application wherever I go in the future!
    The Quanum RC540R isn't available anymore (in EU) but I luckily got hold of one by someone selling the Rx for approx. half the price.
    The High Altitude FPV Observer Plane ''Silent Star V2" had a TS5828 transmitter (600mW) and two Li Ions (3000mAh each) (VTC6).
    Honestly, It's the first time going out two whole km's on 5.8Ghz without any interference. I was amazed that the 600mW output was still enough for the 150mm antenna & receiver to show a crystal clear picture. I went out 2.5km and upon turning back, video got a little fuzzy but recovered fast.
    Stay tuned!

    Thank you for sharing what you did for your Triple Feed Patch Array wire. Adding wire and duck tape...great idea. Going to give that a try to hopefully keep mine from bending down.

      Good luck! Yes, the steel wires (servo push-rods) and duct tape work super great!
      Good luck!

    not a bad set up. The akk ultimate is a very good receiver and should get you out to at least 10km. You could try using the antennas on goggles and move your head when the signal starts to show signs of signal loss. Works really well for me. If you don’t like goggles then how about a receiver tracker to follow your plane. Go luck.

    Hello, let i give you advice: for long range use liner polarized antennas. I flown 8.2 kilometers with ev800d and diy GP and Biloop antennas.

      Thanks! I'll see what I can find on the internet.
      *Spoiler alert* - I've flown a couple of times and came further with the same EV800D's but different Tx and Tx-antennas :) Videos are being made.

    Hi man, i see u are using TFT LCD 7Inch. When fpv signal drop or plane got so far is the monitor gonna be suddenly dark or it showing some snowy display?

      I build exact same tft lcd 7inch monitor but with akk diversity 5,8g and eachine dvr (non pro), but still blue when signal lost.
      I think that snowy because of DVR.
      What DVR u used man?

    does your monitor blue or black screen when the video signal starts to get weak?

    • @AeroStuffFPV
      @AeroStuffFPV  Před 9 měsíci +1

      No, it behaves like a google - the littelest video signal can be seen without the screen turning all blue/black

    I think rx sensitivity too plays important role in long range

    • @AeroStuffFPV
      @AeroStuffFPV  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes! The googles I used before had the same antennas but sucked at sensitivity hence why I got crappy signals after 2km distance.

      Currently using an Eachine EV-800D with homemade helical antennas with +10km range (vids are online too) - With 2S 3400mAh Li-Ion mod as well

    1.2g video will always be better than 5.8g...Its just a fact... You're doing it wrong, obviously..🤔🤨😳🇬🇧
