- Paradise Found can be found in downtown Boulder CO. Great store that features a lot of new vinyl but also a nice selection of used. Before visiting the mountains take a visit to this record store.

Yes, Bill created quite a record club up here, he has a legacy. Paradise Found was packed, one of those harder to dig places as you could not easily flip through the bins. It was also very busy with young and old, male and female which is always a positive thing to see

Haha the VC peer pressure and once again I bend to it! My wife have zero interest in music but she lets me go in with no problem but I know she is wondering when will I be done. That does save me money though lol

Mark, that is an awesome Mayfield album. I don’t have all of his stuff but I do have his early 70s albums which I really love. I did not know I had a 2010 press of that Sonic Youth album. Dang I wish I still had that , it’s into the triple digits. Oh well, I’m enjoying this one
Hey Steve, nice "restocks" to your collection! So true about revisiting albums after a while - in some cases years. We all change, and it stands to reason that our music preferences will change as well. The best part of it - it's like adding to the collection without spending an extra dime! Nice point Dave, it is like finding a whole new album. Since this collection is only about 5 years old I have many albums that I have rediscovered. My old collection I could have spent a few years revisiting albums that were filed away and never saw daylight again

In the US Wall of Voodoo had a great hit called Mexican Radio, check out the video on YT. Very quirky but fun band that you would enjoy
Glad you made it to Paradise Steve. I cleaned out there Savoy Brown section last time I was there, four titles under $10 apiece. Found some nifty dollar records as well. Happy belated 4th. Very expensive town, coffee across the street was almost $6. Cheers.
Yeah my wife is a super picky eater so I needed to find a place that sold “American food” that didn’t cost a million dollars. Found one of those food courts but I loved all the other options. It is hard for me to record shop with my wife. She is patient but she would rather be in place else but a record store. I just find a bench and let her go to her stores lol

Quite the election in the UK. Europe is moving to the hard right and UK swung the other way. After listening the the WOV EP I do want to dive more into their catalog. I rarely see their records anymore. One of those many groups that use to be easy to find
Congratulations on getting those albums back into your collection! Yes, looks like a small store. But at least they have one there. I bet there’s some good restaurants near by. Have a good 4th of July!
Michael there were so many great restaurants but since I had my wife that means I’m very very limited on where we are going to eat. She has no sense of adventure!
I spent some time on Pearl St in 2017. Denver area has some great record stores and elevation sickness. I told my wife: from now on we do our vacations at low elevations
lol, I never got elevation sickness but my wife had it for almost a month. I am slowly getting to some of the record stores
Paradise Found, yes, I enjoyed it when I was there A couple of years ago. Very good Soundsystem in the shop! I was really struck by that. The prices, yeah, well, as you pointed out… It's Boulder. Certainly beautiful there! It seemed there was more used when I was there, but I think that's sort of a sign of the time in general for record stores these days; not a lot of used inventory to go around. Perhaps. I'm sure your friend At Radio Wasteland has a better finger on the pulse of that one. Oh, and I like hits too:-). Nothing wrong with a song that really slaps as the kids say! But nothing wrong with the deep cuts either:-). It's win-win :-)! Have a great fourth!
Tony, you are correct about used product. Most owners I talk to say it is getting more difficult to get “the good stuff”. Jim has seen a lot more new albums being sold as some of the younger collectors either sell their collection of trim it down. I definitely see more new in my travel. Often the used go for a lot of money as you know.

For me that album really improved with age. I didn’t put it on with a preconceived notion of what I thought it should sound like. I’m amazed they have another RSD album.
Boulder looked like a neat town. I bought the first Mothers of Invention in Cororado Springs, irrc. Still love that album. Glenwood Springs is a pretty interesting town up in the mountains. They have a hot springs spa, probably worth visiting in the cooler weather tho.
Dave, this time of year nothing is easy to visit in Colorado. Talk about a mass of humanity. Wow. Totally crazy I hope after Labor Day, before the snow hits the mountains to do a whole lot more activities. I have yet to explore downtown Colorado Springs, after pool season I will have a lot of time on my hand
Great looking record store Steve. Saw some of those Pearl Jam live rarities missing from my collection there. They weren’t exactly cheap to begin with, but now its «ouch» prices (specially when you were late to the party).

Hey Steve. Nice store walk-through video, as always. If I remember correctly, Wall Of Voodoo morphed, evolved and lost some of the mojo of their early records. I have Happy Planet (1987), which is miles away from that first EP you showed. But there are sparks of haunting brilliance there despite very 80s production, especially “Hollywood The Second Time”. Give it a listen if you’re so inclined. See ya next time!
Russell thanks for the suggestion. I do want to revisit this group. I just remember being disappointed when I got this album but now I really enjoyed it. How things change with time as we discover things we missed when we were younger.

There are still bargains out there. Earlier today, I found in a UK charity shop [thrift sore!] original very first pressings of Loaded by The Velvets and Steve Reichs "Music For 18 Musicians" for a total price of £16 [just a bit over $20] Both excellent albums and both in excellent condition. Also, I think in general records both new and second hand are generally more expensive over here.
I found that Reich album 10 years ago in a bargain bin, I had no idea what I was buying. Sadly I lost that one. Amazing scores you found. Our thrift shops seem to be devoid of anything like what you have found. Congrats on your finds, amazing!
Oh Steve! I wish you would’ve brought home that Bill Evans, We Will Meet Again album. It’s such a beautiful tribute album written by Bill Evans for his Brother Harry in honor of his untimely death, which was a tragic suicide. Happy 4th of July on a lighter note 🎵
