    I am a big enthusiast of Micro 9mm's and small 380's. Shoot in clubs weekly. I have to say this gun is just a terrific shooting firearm. The Recoil rating is one of the very lowest, very little Snap. Break it down and you will see a solid built firearm. I now have three Nano's one now over 15,000 rds and broke it down and still looks like new. Built to handle the 40.cal. Solid gun. Trigger is a fantastic Striker fired DAO. Smooth and controlled all the way through. Beretta rates them at 6lbs of pull but they are coming in at 5.7lbs. The modular design makes it easy to change grips, or change parts if needed. This is a firearm you cannot make a judgement on by looks alone. You really should shoot one. We have had a lot of folks at our club make the switch once they shot the gun. Light Striker fired trigger fans that want a trigger that breaks like glass will bad mouth the Pistol. But others that shoot often will love it especially for carry and fast shooting.

      Riiiiiight. It’s personal preference. And ONLY personal preference. Any self-respecting gun owner understands this and doesn’t get caught up in fanboy bullshit. Why argue over something you don’t have to buy?
      Buy what you want and just go shooting with your friends for Pete’s sake.

    Recently put finished putting 10,000 rounds through my Nano. What a terrific firearm. Compare the build quality to any other gun in it's class and you will see they truly are built like a frigging tank. Love the DAO trigger which is extremely smooth, deliberate, in control all the way. Great for fast action shooting. Very mild shooting gun.. I got rid of all my light Striker fired guns. I ended up buying two more Nano's. Basically the same gun. Not many parts, (only 45) and solid as a rock. I also Bought a APX grip and placed on one of the Nano's. Fit perfect. The more you shoot the Nano/Carry, the more you will appreciate the mild shooting and the trigger. To the point that you will not want to go back. I have no doubt the Nano/Carry is built so tough that they will go every bit of ammo down range as any large defensive pistol. They are SOLID!

    Back when I wasn't really that into guns I bought a Nano. Had it a few years and shot it very little. Always thought it was kind of heavy for the size and didn't like that it didn't have a slide stop. The slide would lock back on an empty mag though, but without a slide stop it made dealing with malfunctions interesting. Nice to see they added a slide stop to the APX Carry. The Nano's reassembly seemed a lot easier...just rack the slide and it reset the screw on it's own. Not sure that I'd go down the modified Nano road with this one but good review nonetheless.

    I've got the full size and the Centurion. Both are fine firearms. Having the Centurion, I didn't see the need for the compact. This carry model I have an interest in. I think the slide serrations are a great look and serve their purpose racking the slide. Reading gun reviews/comments reminds me of reading motorcycle reviews/comments. Some just don't like anything at all different, and that's just fine.

    This is the gun I carry. I spend only a minimum amount of time at the range. In other words, I am not a sport shooter, and don’t enjoy the range.
    Having said that, I love this gun. Like other compacts, it is easy to carry and conceal.
    Most likely, I will never have to use it. And if I do, it will probably be short range and only need a shot or two.

    I like the long trigger pull for a firearm that will often be carried in a pocket. I have always felt a light trigger pull in that situation might be inviting problems. I would like to see statistics on how many people have accident discharges compared to the percentage of people who defend themselves with a firearm carried on their person.

      I carried a Kahr CM9 in a pocket for years in a galco pocket protector, soft leather. With long pull never worried about it. When I went to a P365 for pocket carry I found it fit the same holster but with the light short pull I wasn't comfortable with it. I found a full kydex with hook style draw, like the galco. That makes trigger, even the short light 365 trigger, inaccessible unless drawn. There are good options if you look for them for any gun/carry method.

    • @KSGunGuy01

      There’s a lot of room between competition worthy and heavy. 4.5 to 5.5 is the gold zone for me. Competition gets into the sub 3.5 pound territory.

    • @rotadyma
      @rotadyma Před 5 lety +10

      MrZonacat1 Agreed. I highly doubt very many practice perfect trigger control when their life is on the line and they are shooting at a bad guy. I’m guessing will let the trigger all the way out anyway and then press another round not caring how light or heavy it is. We can stand stress free in a gun range all day long and practice good trigger control but honestly we don’t know what will happen until it happens. Love the DAO on a CCW piece.

    • @BoopSnoot
      @BoopSnoot Před 4 lety +2

      Yeah, people act like there is ANYONE that likes DAO over single action or light short precocked striker setups for how they shoot... no way Jose! They like them because the probability of a ND is reduced, plain and simple, but without the complexity of a manual safety. And for those that only want to trust their kydex holster, especially if appendix carrying, google "glock appendix shoots self" and watch a guy very slowly and carefully holster his glock, you hear the click, it seems PERFECT, and yet he leans over and bang shot himself in the groin. If it aint precocked and it has a very long decently weighted trigger along with your typical trigger safety (although the glock had it too and it didn't save that guy), you have just a little extra insurance because things can go wrong.

    I took my brand new LCP there yesterday. It failed to go into battery half of the time, and sometimes bumping the slide didn't work so I would have to extract the round. Then one time it got stuck so bad the extractor came out and I couldn't find it on the floor. I went home and ordered an extractor, plunger and 13 lb recoil spring. The whole reason I got the LCP is because my Kahr is in the shop because the trigger won't reset. I'm going to start carrying a bow and arrow.

So while I lightened the trigger on both APX’s… on the carry I would welcome the trigger aspects as is, accidents can happen in a pocket carry situation along with AIWB. And in the winter months in a urban setting a pocket carry could offer flexibility when my edc may be encumbered.

    Great review! I like my full size APX a lot, and other than the look of the slide, this pistol is a much different design. The APX is the flattest shooting polymer framed handgun I’ve shot or own, the recoil in your video is much more pronounced for this design. In addition, Beretta makes swappable recoil and trigger springs, which give the APX even less recoil and lower trigger pull. I’m considering picking up the APX compact (for a few reasons), this carry model is not looking interesting to consider over that, especially with how the trigger stacks and breaks. I know what you mean about the trigger. I like the trigger to break well before it reaches the frame and, to me, that’s one of the best features of Sig’s X-series of P320’s. Picture Tevya from Fiddler on the Roof here, “On the other hand...” that was a pretty damn nice mega-hole grouping on that paper target so it must not have hurt you that much.
    This is where I wonder again what the lag time is before companies catch up with the groundbreaking, game-changing, never seen before, insert your favorite cliché here feature of the Glock X-Series (I guess we can call it a “Series” now), the extended grip. It’s a feature I’ve liked for years on my Kahr CW9 but wonder if it will catch on elsewhere. I’d really like to see a Walther PPSx (I’m downright startled at how much I like my PPS!) or Mossberg MC 1x. I’d snap one or both of those up right now if they were available but I don’t see an APX Carry in my future.

    Not a Beretta pistol fan. Their shotguns are pretty good. That trigger is horrendous. That pistol would never attract my hard earned cash. There are way better options. 6 + 1 is decent in a single stack. Rather have my Ruger EC9S with the same capacity and a hellaciously awesome trigger. At $239 the Ruger EC9S is a no brainer. Just my $0.02. Love your videos! Always glad to see a new one. Cheers!

    I have one. I went with this over a Glock for a few different reasons. I like the decocker and DAO trigger in a gun this small that will be carried for me AIWB or pocket just makes more sense. I can almost get 6 out of this as fast as I can a 43 so the DA trigger pull is not as big a deal as some are saying. To me it feels better than a Glock in the hand and after shooting it the DAO is super smooth and IMO has a more natural point of aim than a Glock or shield. It shoots flatter than a Glock as well. This thing is not a nano, I promise you that. I love mine and use it as my EDC

Have fondled the Compact at my local shop, but out of the APX line, I'm thinking it's going to be full size or nothing for me, as the Compact felt smaller than my G26 to me in hand. Be careful with 365. the Slide to the Grip is very narrow. We tested this gun with 5 experienced shooters and many felt the grip is good for small hands but be careful to not ride the slide if you have a size large. Also the take down lever and slide lock is hulky and completely ridiculous, and problematic for some shooters. Also, the gun is on par with many micro 9mm's but many shoot much better. It shoots similar to the Ruger LC9S but with a tad less recoil and muzzle flip. There are better shooting guns out there.
      The APX Carry has a recoil rating of 6.1 vs 6.9 on the 365. And the APX Carry has much less muzzle flip. In fact the APX is one of the mildest shooting firearm in class out there.

    For me the APX compact is perfect. Its the smallest gun I can hold comfortably in the grip, and the long slide/barrel is great too as they dont impact my ability to conceal at all.
    From a purely market perspective I assumed the APX Carry was a mistake (as is the new FN and CZ counterpart), the market is owned by the Shield, Hellcat, P365, and 43/43x. If these sell well I'll be surprised.

      I took a APX Carry and the 365 to the range and compared each side by side. Shot each with 200 rds of mixed ammo. The Carry has much less recoil and snap. At the last 50 rounds the 365 I really started to feel the hurt from the 365 but the Carry was so mild, I could have gone on all day. Both guns ran good but had 6 failures with the 365. Not sure if it was the gun or the fact that I was riding the slide. Very little room for the off hand if you have a size large. 365 just too snappy for me. Actually the 365 shoots very similar to the Ruger LC9S. Both guns nice for carry, but not guns you want to do a lot of range time with.

    I recently purchased this and just put 100 rds through it at the range. As compared to my Sig P238 (.380 cal)...Definetly more recoil & muzzle flip than I'm used compared to my .380 Sig, though it might be the norm for polymer 9mm compact pistols. The trigger takes a little getting used to as it feels more like a revolver's trigger than anything else. Not a bad thing and this is probably good for a CCW with no safety, but I kinda wish it was just a tad smoother and lighter, though it may get better as I use it more. I like the blacked out rear sights, but the front sight does not stand out enough for me (again, I'm used to the optic night sights on my Sig...call me spoiled). For now I honestly can't say that I like it or don't like it. I'm going to give it a few more trips to the range and hopefully new sights then see how I feel about it.
