Beretta APX A1: Worth the money or money wasted?

What a treat that Beretta has placed in our local gun stores cabinet! I'll be honest, I wasn't sure about this firearm due to a couple reasons. At the end of the day I enjoyed reviewing it and can look past the bad features and focus on the more pronounced positive ones!!
i am a range rat. Own many Micro's like the 365 365XL, and others. I will say the APX A1 is extremely under rated. It is my number one carry gun. Solid build quality, stainless steel throughout the gun. Nice modular take down. So easy to work on or clean. I LOVE THE TRIGGER! One if not the best DAO stiker fired guns ever built. similar to the Kahr's which I love. This gun is basically the third GEN Beretta Nano which I have about 20,000 rds through and another about 6,000 rd. These are also very mild shooters. On the Apx A1 the have even improved from the Nano quite a bit. One thing about the Triggers. Beretta put's a coating on them that make them gritty at first. But the wear in to be extremely smooth. A sweet, smooth, deliberate roll which is perfect for EDC. And one thing about these triggers is that once you learn them, you do not want to go back the ridiculous so called light crisp triggers. Bravo to Beretta. They made a hell of a top quality firearm and the price is ridiculously low. By the way, the sights do require lock tight. The design was made to replace without a sight pusher. I did replace my front sight with a Pico Big Dot night sight and love it. Magazines are all stainless steel with a steel follower. Look like custom 1911's. Keep shooting this gun. The more you do the more you will love it. Thanks for the review.

Are you working for Beretta? I have a jammed trigger on my first day after several dry fires.
How do you aim with the front big dot sight? Does it fit between the rear sight or do you put the dot on top if the rear sight when you are aiming?
@@larrylam2648 ‘after several dry fires’. Well, don’t do that. It has a decock button you can depress with a pen.
Yeah I dont get the hate… it’s not without its gripes… single stack being the biggest.. but this is my every day carry. I’m not 1000 rounds into it, but I have yet to have a failure using several different kinds of ammunition.
I got mine for $225 after rebate and it came with two 8 round mags. Also its FDE. SWEET GUN!
Glad you like it. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Thanks for the video. A couple of points here. Yes the trigger isn’t the best and initially I wondered if I made a mistake in buying one but after about 100 rounds it really started to improve. After 500 rounds it hardly resembles the same trigger. Most important its 100% reliable and extremely accurate. 100% agreement on the optics plate. When I bought mine beretta said that I would get one free of my choice after registration on their website. 4 months later I’m still waiting. I doubt I will ever put an optic on it but it’s the point that Beretta promised a free plate.
Thanks for the info and for watching
@@GSquaredTactical update I got an email from Beretta yesterday. My optics plate will be here next week. Coincidence?
Just got mine in yesterday and mounted the hex dragonfly, it doesn’t look that bad actually. Just real bulky
I got my plate delivered about 2 weeks after registration. They send you an email with a discount code if you haven’t figured it out by now
Yes sir we got ours. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
This is a CARRY gun not a competition pistol. You want a long trigger pull in an amped up situation. I carry this pretty much everyday. It is very comfortable to carry and rode 8 hours in a gym shorts. It doesn't pinch or dig into your leg at all. If you move it around some. I really like the gun. Its recoil is amazingly gentle for how small it is. If you don't have strong fingers this isn't the gun for you. But if want to carry with any kind of shirt on this one works great and its cheap.
Thanks for sharing and watching. Be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I completely agree that almost every CZcamsr out there nitpicks self defense pistols for trigger break and reset, when, as you say, we don't want a negligent discharge from being amped up. There are other guns that specialize in range qualities, this is designed to be light and compact and a little safer. Even the option for a red dot speaks to self-defense use.
Why? Wanna know why long heavy trigger pulls were created? For police officers who lack the experience and training in high stress situations. AKA don't know sh*t. We as civilians have a vast luxury of training available to us to prepare for dangerous situations. I'd rather practice with a 4 pound 1911 trigger and be deadly accurate than struggle to keep shots on target due to my negligence in training. Hell, most cops miss over 80% of their shots, and they have decent Glock/FN/S&W/Sig triggers.
@SoyboyARMY thanks for watching and sharing and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
The trigger is ridiculously bad…it’s literally a double action trigger in a semi auto.
Note to others, Holosun and Sig mini micro reflexes have a sight in back so gun rear sight is not needed. Beretta offers one plate when registering warranty. CYA sells Holsters cut for them also.

Same here. I just picked mine up a few days ago. I bought the wolf gray from Palmetto for $229 with a $50 rebate.
Currently available online for $249-299. With the $50 rebate from Beretta, this is a steal!!!
Yes sir did you get one? Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Everyone makes such a big deal about not having rear sights after removing the plate. A lot of red dots have rear sights built in. Problem solved
Yeah I have noticed a lot of red dots now come with them integrated in the rear. Definitely an appropriate fix. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t already
Bought mine on psa for $199 in wolf gray and got a $50 rebate for buying it so I’m all in at $150 😳 also own the gx4 pretty much same size beretta is tad thinner frame
Sweet deal. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I purchased one at my local shop that came with a red dot optic.... very cool little single stack...however, it came with only one eight round magazine, and I cannot find any extra mags anywhere online, or in any of the five shops near my home. Even on Beretta's website they are out of stock.... not satisfied with this at all
Yeah it’s silly for sure. Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Just purchased this weapon locally & it came outfitted with Burris Fast Fire 3 red dot sight included total price under $450.00 which as I read more about it wasn’t too bad of a deal. Haven’t used it at range yet but will do some dry fire training until I can get to range.
Let us know how you like it please. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I"m glad they left extra expense of plates off gun , personally dont want a red dot . keeps cost down .

Beretta is currently offering a $100 rebate on the APX Carry A1. I'm seeing prices at $399 before the rebate. This is winter 2022 BTW.
Yeah they’ve been offering that for a while now and some stores around us are selling it at $299 before rebate. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Was it extended? Heard the warranty was thru Sept only.
The warranty?
I just bought mine waiting on the rebate but idk if it worked
I’m sure it worked it took Trijicon 4 months to mail me a rebate. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
The biggest regret I have found after purchasing this pistol is how difficult it is to find accessories for it in sporting good stores…. You’ll see HUNDREDS of clips/accessories for glock, s&w, Taurus, Ruger, sig…. NOTHING at my local stores for the atx I bought it from… couldn’t even find a holster for it….. is there any plans for a 9,10,11,12 + 1 clip? I know it’s a single stack and that would be ridiculous but I’d like to have the option when I’m at the range or not conceal carrying. 12+1 might be overkill but I don’t see any reason why they can’t offer a 10+ 1 clip
Yeah unfortunately Glock, H&K and S&W flood the market and accessories for anything else is online only. Sad 😞 for sure. To my knowledge no extended mags just yet but I’m sure Promag will have something soon. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already.
This gun does not require many accessories. Other than a night sight. All parts are available and you can if necessary replace any part. So simple to work o with few parts. A terrific holster is one from Alabama Holster. Perfect precise fit.
Thanks for watching and sharing and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
It is modular so hopefully Beretta will come out with a grip frame that is compatible with a stack and a half mag that will fit 10-12 rds.

Great video on this little gun. I’ve been thinking about getting one these, adding to numerous other Beretta’s I have, including the 92x and PX4 LANGDON COMPACT CARRY, which is my all time favorite carry gun, as well as GLOCK’s, including the 5th Edition G19. One thing I realized since I carried a Beretta in the US ARMY during the Viet Nam era, you can’t beat a BERETTA! (Except maybe with a CZ!)
Great minds think alike haha, we love CZ! All guns definitely have their pros and cons we just try to be as honest as possible. Thank you so much for watching today and please set those alerts for upcoming content

The micro compact is just a facelifted Beretta nano which had a crappy trigger. I know I've owned two of them. The Beretta apx full size and centurion triggers are not the same. My full size Beretta apx has a very good trigger on it does not compare remotely to the old nano trigger.
Thank you for saying that. I was going to write off the APX line because of that, but will consider the full size!
@@GSquaredTactical yes if you can find a full size in a shop somewhere check out the trigger on it before you write them off. Thanks for the video
Beretta has definitely made a impact in the micro 9 market, looking forward to what they have next! Please subscribe if you haven’t already!
I've come to believe in those little Kydex snap-on trigger covers. It's impossible to miss that's it's on and we are safe, or off and it's live. Sometimes the thumb safeties (as on the Shield) are hard to see, hard for noobs to distinguish from the slide lock/takedown lever, and can be stiff to deal with especially under duress - trigger covers just have a loop of paracord and yank off (with teeth in a pinch, if one hand is pushing away an attacker).
I’ve used them before or should I say my wife has in her purse. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
I'm waiting for mine to get shipped mine was 450 with 1 8 round and it came with the 3 dot red sight my first compact was the ruger ec9 now my EDC is my Glock g26 gen3 so I want to see how I feel about this one if it will ne my new EDC or my stay at home

I just picked one up new for $249 plus a $50 dollar rebate - $199 - at PSA.
I guess it must not be selling very well …
Based on that price I would say not. The beginning price they had it listed for would have suggested it was going to be a hit. But it must have been a flop
@@GSquaredTactical I am excited to try it out. I’ve seen mixed reviews. All that matters to me is my own opinion after I put 2-3 boxes through it.
I have an authorized return mail label from the Beretta repair center on my first day to dry fire the APX A1 Carry for the jammed trigger.
@larrylam2648 I believe it man this gun was an absolute piece of garbage for us. Sights flew off it was insane
It actually does have an ambidextrous mag release you can flip it by tapping the pin out of it
Was not aware of that feature. Thanks for the information and please subscribe if you haven’t already!
I was excited about it when I purchased it. I guess I got unlucky because the backplate broke after just 100 rounds. It’s on is way to get fixed now
This thing has been a mess for us worse purchase of 2022. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
The A1 carry wasn’t designed for the military. It wasn’t submitted to the XM17 competition and didn’t come out till years after SIG won the contract.
That’s correct! Thanks for watching a please subscribe if you haven’t already
They never said the a1, a concealed carry gun was designed for the military. It’s common knowledge the full size was designed for XM17

May of 2022 these are selling for $311 online, plus a $100 rebate from Beretta - net price $211, no tax to my state. Guess Beretta can’t sell them.
I held one. It’s the exact same size as my Sig 365 that I edc and larger than my Taurus GX4. Both have more capacity and much better triggers. I am a Beretta fan and have several full size (not the apx), but even at $211 I’ll pass on this one.
Good review.
Thanks for watching, I know the trigger stood out most to me (Trey). Not being a snob about it but nerf guns have better triggers imo. If it shoots I won’t complain!
What website has that price ?
@@gsnwhodat I posted a reply last week but apparently youtube took it down? Maybe links aren’t allowed. Do a web search. There is one site in particular that has great deals from multiple online vendors. gum.deals - replace the gum with you know what and no dot com in the address.

The weakness of this Beretta APXA1 Carry is the trigger system.
And the sights for us as they just flew offf

Comment is kind of late, but if you register with Beretta for the warranty, get an email with a link to choose mounting plate of your choice from the four they offer, for free.
Yes sir that is correct. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
For $450 MSRP I'll really criticize it for not holding at least 10 rounds in a slimmed-down double stack magazine. But at $250-300 on-sale prices, I definitely agree that the single stack is an advantage that makes it super slim. Good pricing changes it from an also-ran to a Shield 9 single-stack killer. Depending on what is available in my restricted jurisdiction next year, I'll get either one of these or an FN Reflex.
We just reviewed the FN Reflex and loved it. Check it out. Thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already

My APX A1 Beretta came with a very nice Burris Red Dot 3. Your comments are going on deaf ears, pal. I paid 400.00 dollars for my Beretta. Keep in mind that this is a small lightweight pistol. I'm a veteran from the US Army. I've handled many pistols in my service and it's a great piece for concealment. I'm 68, and I need a shield for protection.
10/4 thanks for watching
Picked it up for $299 online(new). Just registered for a $100 rebate. My total will be under $230. For that price it's a no brainer.
Heck yeah it is
Where for $299????
@@Idontbeliveanythingyousay locked and loaded. They have increased it to $332 last I looked. The rebate ends August 15th.
Best I found was $320 but shipping is another $20. I didn't like the trigger at all at gun shop. But I'm still mulling it over. The $100 rebate is only reason I'm interested
I know a lot of gun stores online offer that price, I’m not sure if the rebate is still going on however
I got lucky for father’s day, APX carry has $100 rebate and they gift you a plate for it and free shipping for it. Bought it for $400 and saved $130

Have you gotten the rebate yet? I'm still waiting.
I got an email from Beretta about a month ago that its its getting ready to be shipped. So another month or so? 🤷🏾♂️
I would say so, patience is always a virtue when it comes to rebates
I couldn’t pass up the deal I got it was this pistol but it comes with a Burris fast fire three mounted on it for a price of 299 with a $100 rebate from Beretta so basically I got the pistol and the red dot for $200 the red dot alone sells for $200 so I’ll probably just takeoff the red dot and sell pistol.

Thanks for the video, but your title is misleading. The new APX A1 Carry was not part of Beretta's entry into the XM17 trials. Put some time in with an APX full size or a centurion and you have a completely different experience. The centurion on a compact frame, is a chonky boi, but fully capable option for EDC.
It’s a quote straight from berettas website. I would call them up to argue lol. Thanks for watching!
The website says that for the full size apx and not on the a1.

Picked mine up for $273 minus the $100 got me at $173...couldn't pass it up even with all the negative reviews I've seen...hopefully it won't be a lemon...
That’s an insane deal, I wish I would have waited for that rebate, I think we gave about 400 for ours but at 173 I probably would have picked a couple up!
Ok I'm new at the red dot thing
I bout this gun new 2nd handed but it came with a Romeo zero sig optic on it but I don't see an optic plate do I need an optic plate on it? The red dot is mounted on now I took it off and put a battery on it I didn't see any kind of plate if someone reads this please let me know
When you bought the gun with the Romeo did it have a battery in it and died, or it came without a battery? I’m inclined to think if the battery died then someone must have used it with a flush mount to the slide. If it was mounted like that then it sure can work, but it’s a matter of accuracy from there. Like can it zero mounted flush? I would say yes!
Good review overall. I picked up one of these for 215 used with a couple extra 8 round mags. I’m pretty happy with it. I just wanted something super thing and lightweight. Might look into an aftermarket trigger.

Yes sir!! Hey thanks for watching and commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already
Why do you put a red on a gun that's supposed to be concealed and is that's small.
It has a slide cut for a optic, I think that question may be better geared towards the manufacturer but I can see your point!
It's ambidextrous, not ambidextrious.

I (Gene) don’t like any of them but they’ve function on I suppose. Back sight flew off this one during the range review 🤦🏻♂️

I do like the color combo on that one you have there but if ,like you say Canik can supply all the accessories that they do for their pistols,so could Beretta, and also just wondering about a year ago maybe less you was liking that Taurus G3 stainless over black and was just wondering if it's still one of your favorites,I know mine is.Thanks for the preview and we will see you on the next one .
I do really enjoy my G3. It’s not one of the last guns I’ll own if I had to sell everything I owned. But I do really like my G3. The finish is great considering how we treated it at the range one day. As far as comparing it over the black I would like to think that the stainless would show less scratches if we had torcher tested the other black model.
I wish beretta supplied all the accessories. I think their should be a standard for which you provide if you’re going to give the optic option
@@GSquaredTactical Torture bro. Do you still like this gun?

Not particularly. I was never truly fond of it, i recognized its place in the market and understood it but it has some features I’m not fond of
@@GSquaredTactical Thanks I just traded it back in for a Glock 19
I bought one of these Beretta APX A1’s and traded it back to my gun dealer within two weeks of the purchase. The trigger sucks, there is no trigger reset- sorry, it’s not there. You have to buy the micro-optic plate separately from Beretta and the rear sights are on the removable optic plate. At 15 yards, I was center on my target but extremely low. Moved up to seven yards and moved up about two inches. There are no current replacement triggers on the market to help with that problem. Sad thing is, I always loved Beretta firearms, but this one, for me is a hard no.

This thing sells under $300 and your complaining about not getting mounting plates. You should be elated to be receiving a BERETTA with the slide already cut to receive optics for under $300!
Not really. First of all, the plate costs at most 5 bucks to make, and now I have to buy a 2-350 dollar optic. I hear you though, all opinion just like my statement but I see where you’re coming from

You sound like the type of guy who buys a Prius and you complain that it's just not as smooth and slick as your daddy's Bentley. If you carry that Beretta and you get mugged are you going to gently squeeze the trigger ?
Haha well you seem to know a lot about “that guy”, can’t be a coincidence! I can’t answer that question because I don’t plan on ever carrying the beretta, however if I did I would squeeze the trigger enough for the gun to fire.
