Jeff Buckley's album Grace is must have.
ABSOLUTELY
“Lover you should have come over” is my all time favourite Jeff Buckley song.
The emotion and the lyrics are breathtaking.
“She’s a tear that hangs inside my soul forever…”
Yes. Exactly!
That's just the best song ever sung by a human being?
That single lyric is one of the most beautiful lines ever written.
Jeff took influences from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and more. He absorbed them all and became the timeless artist we were lucky to briefly have.
And his father
One the best reaction to Jeff! Is he gine breathe?? For me is the best vocal in million years.
Love your reaction❤
The man was a genius
"Is he gon breathe? Is he gonna breathe?" 🤣 Great video, dude! Jeff was a gift to us all, R.I.P 🙌🏾
My favorite Jeff Buckley reaction
His version of ‘Hallelujah’ is absolutely gorgeous, my favourite version.
That is my least favourite song off the album for me..... "Lover, you should have come over" is my favourite
I was astonished by that version
@@paulrodsted3905 why is that your least favorite song of his
@@lasthope3237 mine too, I think it’s because I have heard that song and so many versions so much in pop culture and other things, that when I heard his version, I just became numb to the song.
@@mocapcow2933i think it’s a beautiful song regardless, i don’t think it stands out as much as others, but it still does because his voice is otherworldly. his version is undoubtedly the best. in my mind it’s his song.
I absolutely *adore* Jeff Buckley. He sings like I would imagine angels sing like. Even his last moments on earth he was singing (oblivious to the fact that death was seconds away). God bless you Jeff and RIP 🙏❤️
Omg I adore Jeff Buckley - he is in my top 3 of all singers
Jeff
Freddie
Michael
My top 3
Strange that nobody mentions his equally brilliant father!
@@miketraceur8643 Robert? No?
@@michaelbyrd7883 Plant? Smith?
RIP Jeff. Still get chills after all this time
Oh, yes. I can't listen too much, too often to this beautiful man singing. He had the most gorgeous voice
Omg I always loved Jeff Buckley, his voice speaks to my soul…. He was taken away from us too soon
One minute our beloved jeff is a beast then he is an angel lol
His Album ‘Grace’ was the soundtrack to my 20’s 🙌
… And it was the soundtrack to my late thirties and early forties! I had the good fortune to have lived in London during that time (I’m American), and it was the best experience a music-lover like me could have. Jeff was, I believe, much more well-known in the UK and Europe than he was in the States. I had the privilege of seeing him in concert twice.
I’ve always been surprised that so few people seem to have heard of him. How does talent like that remain a secret from so many?
My favorite musician. In addition to that voice, Jeff was a phenomenal guitarist, writer and arranger. ❤️💯🔥 Sadly he passed away in 1997.
Always good seeing someone having to deal with seeing Jeff Buckley's prodigious talent for first time.
“Come on Jeff’!!” ..🤣” I will shake this camera” LOL I love how excited you get I feel it too and love your honest expression of it ... Jeff.. sweet sweet sacred Buckley..
RIP DEAR BOY🤍🔥
Grace is my fave album of all time
His voice was pure and sublime. Jeff was on another plane. As tragic as it is that he left us too soon, it's lovely that we have these recordings of his pristine voice before age and 'wear and tear' could alter it too much.
His voice is sublime. The range, the emotion, the clarity. Dude can bring you to tears.
I cry every time I listen to him, not even because of the lyrics but because the beauty of his music makes me mourn his absence.
I like Jeff Buckley immensely but also have great respect for his father Tim Buckley especially for his album '' Greetings from L.A.''
'Starsailor' and 'Lorca' are my faves. That's where his voice enters uncharted waters!
Love your JB reaction! RIP Jeff Buckley.
BEST LIVE PERFORMENCE ON EARTH.
My friend was a musician back in NYC when Jeff wasn’t known yet and they all hung out at a bar, just a bunch of musicians trying to make it. Jeff Buckley would walk in, walk to the juke box in the back, play a song and sing his heart out and everyone there would watch and listen and know he was a legend in the making. He would then leave.
One of my all time favourites. Never heard anyone quite like Jeff Buckley. Nothing but pure talent. God rest his songful soul.
Check out his father Tim Buckley
He was something special. I'm actually mad that we have to be without him 💙
Most angelic voice I’ve heard. Awesome reaction…
Not that i can sing anything like Jeff but, as you alluded to, the hardest part of singing along to him is how long he can sustain those notes. I find myself taking multiple breaths while he casually does these incredible vocal runs in one!
Thanks soooooooooooo much for having AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING Jeff Buckley
Grace is a masterpiece. And his voice is absolutely beautiful. Try Grace, Lilac Wine, or So real.
so real is my absolute favourite
Yes, he died in 1997. His legacy continues through his fans and his music. He is a once-in-a-lifetime artist.
dude you match his voice really freaking well i was amazed at that
Great reaction to a great singer, you ain't got a bad voice yourself either sir, keep up the awesome work!
As much music as I've listened to this is my first time listening to this guy and his voice is nuts !!! Wow what a voice ! Already a fan !
He was so special.
Yep, often seemed like that fella didn't need to breathe. & he could do smooth or gritty, soft and loud and could use his head voice for that falsetto or absolutely belt out the high notes. Another singular talent gone too soon. I see you watched 'Lover, You Should've Come Over' about a year ago so I'm off to watch that, it's one of my favourites!!
Best review I’ve ever heard of Jeff Buckley - ‘this guy can blow’
Jeff went much to soon, a great loss for humanity.
We can now only wonder.
Legitimately the best reaction I’ve ever seen. Ever.
Every time I watch that performance I am drawn in by a different aspect. The relationship between Jeff and the drummer Matt Johnson on this track is amazing. Matt’s eyes are on Jeff for so much of this and they’re so in sync. Brilliant!
This was my request! Thanks heaps for getting it done. Exactly how i thought you would react 👌😂
Last Goodbye 👋
The "is he gonna breath part" LMAO. I'm putting together a a tribute band for Jeff Buckley. That line is incredibly difficult, but he does in fact take a breath, just in a very inconspicuous spot. It's right after "black beauty I..."
I like your reactions to Jeff Buckley.
I love seeing someone appreciate Jeff ❤
"Lover you should have come Over"....but really anything Jeff did is magic....more please. the whole Grace album is a masterpiece
Thanks for reacting to Buckley. He was special
I really enjoyed this. Thank you! Mojo Pin is one of my favorite songs of all time. Such a shame that the end was cut off. If you haven't checked it out yet, the Glastonbury performance of Mojo Pin is incredible (as someone else already mentioned). Digging through Jeff's music is like digging through a treasure chest. So many riches, it's lifechanging.
I can't believe I got Mick Grøndahl (bassist) to sign my vinyl sleeve of Grace! I chatted to him a few years back, and yesterday I messaged Gary Lucas, (Gary actually created the guitar riff for this track Mojo Pin and the song Grace! Jeff just extended it) he only replied back! and not only that he has AGREED to sign Grace for me too! 😮😱🥶🥳🤯
'mindblown'

I’ve got to recommend the book “Dream Brother” it’s a biography of both Jeff and his father Tim.
The Album “Live at Sin-é (legacy edition)” is a MUST listen to. His raw vocals on that album are beyond comprehension.
Totally agree. He sings a song in Pakistani and it's incredible good
Jeff was a angel and became a angel, he was a messager,, its what I feel when I listen to him
Voice of an angel, and you hear it too.
omg, you poor thing, the video was cut in the best part =O
When you have a chance, just listen to the track list from "Live at Sin-e'"...
A live gig where he solo performed in a small cafe... Mind-blowing!!!!
Also his covers of Bob Dylan's "If you see her,say hello"and "Mama , you've been on my mind" are amazing!!!!!😎
Need this album on vinyl as soon as possible.
I hope you've listened to the whole album since this!
God bless you
I just absolutely love your interpretation of this song. And your ability to sing the key moments with perfect pitch is wonderful. Thank you.
About time. I was waiting for this to come your way brother 😃
Loved your reaction, jeff is so special :) subbed
When Leonard Cohen heard Jeff sing Hallelujah, he was heard to say “I wish I wrote that”.
I feel your pain with whoever thought it was expectable to upload with it cutting off the ending
Angels don’t need to breathe ❤️❤️🙏
So tragic, young and had so much more to give. Drowned in the Mississippi, was there recording.
Your Jeff reactions hit different. I love vocalists who can breakdown all the amazing shit he does. You’ll lose your mind to Grace. His cover of Lilac Wine (album version) is super underrated and breath taking. The only white guy allowed to cover Ms. Nina Simone imo.
I too LOVE his Lilac Wine cover and I agree that it rarely gets noted or noticed.
you're awesome. thanx dude
You just witnessed the greatest voice in rock history.
Yeah, that ending I hope you found it.
Oh, and you MUST listen to Jeff's rendition of Dido's Lament... his vocals are out of this world (per usual). It was just a one time live version caught on tape, and the quality is pretty awful. BUT damn... goosebumps every time.
You one of few reactors I've seen notice the breathing. I'm pretty sure he mastered circular breathing.
Loved this vid! Jeff is the best
Is that even humanly possible? Yes, but only the way Jeff can ❤
The entire albumn Grace is brilliant 💯💥💫
The ending to the clip you watched was how we all reacted when he died "..... wait..... there's no more?..."
Amazing
Jeff was an amazing guitarist and wrote deep beautiful lyrics. Jeff had very special voice control at the softest tones and had amazing range. A truly astounding singer and the rarest of artists.
If you're only just discovering Jeff, good on you, my friend. He was a gift to us all. Put it in perspective though. While Grunge was going off, Rock was rocking, Jeff was being Jeff. I feel blessed to have had my teen years through 90's for exactly these reasons. We were the last generation to grow up without cell phones, ride our bikes till the street lights came on, and get to evolve surrounded by talent such as this. Do yourself a favour, don't react, just grab your discman, and a good set of headphones, walk down to a beach or deserted amazing place and blast Grace start to finish. Grab any other great album and listen to it that way to. Music is the glue of the world, it keeps us all together - Empire Records -
The purest male vocal ever.
💯 %
You can listen to the full version of this performance (audio only) on the Live at Cabaret Metro album. Not sure why, but the video of it got cut off a few months ago. If you want to watch a great live rendition of Grace, watch this video. He goes OFF 🖤🖤

Classic Jeff ❤️ RIP
What a bummer about that bad link. Hopefully you can find a complete version of that performance to catch what you missed. Jeff was otherworldly and the most fearless vocalist I’ve ever heard. Sometimes his voice went to places you might describe as ugly or uncomfortable, but it was always 100% genuine and the audience was thrilled to be on that journey. He inspired many, but there will never be another like him.
Man, you are the best. I laugh my ass off from you.
entertaining reaction, TSR, and happy you've discovered JB! You'll get lots of suggestions here, but i'd start w/ the BBC live version of "Grace". cheers
the dude could sing
He used to do throat singing for fun.
JB death is still like a raw wound and 23 years has passed. (Lol, 15yrolds are so dramatic, my age when he died) GOAT.
Great Singer, Great Song, Great Reaction! Please listen to "Jeff Buckley - Grace (BBC Late Show)" on youtube full live song great version of my favorite Jeff Buckley song
...and plus, he is a songs composer, main guitar (while he sings) and etc.
I do not know why, when I watch and listen this "Jeff Buckley Reactions" kind of videos, I always tend towards black folks reactions, do not get me wrong..its got nothing to do with white-black-yellow-martian or whatsoever..but anyways I always get similar reactions to mine from black folks, maybe its coincidence maybe not
Great reaction by the way sir, thank you!
Can really hear where Matt Corby gets his Influence
Yeah there was definatly more video. All his live stuff is great.
I'm also mad about the last part being cut off
Omg and now a song from one of my favourite all time albums. Loving this channel.
I really started following your content when you reacted to Lover, Come Over. You really seemed to grasp the nuance and power. Felt like I was hearing again for the first time. Keep up the hard work ❤️
Unfortunately went for a swim in the Mississippi River and drowned, a great loss, a unique artist gone too early
One of the single most extraordinary things I've ever seen was Jeff Buckley at Belvoir Amphitheatre here in Perth, Western Australia.
Indescribable, so I'm literally not going to try...
"Once in a while
A man comes along
Even his failures were favorite songs....."
"A body goes down
In the Mississippi waters
Weighted by a beauty
Afraid of its light
Notify your holy men
Console your sons and daughters
And tell me one more time
What is just?
And what is right?"
"A Body Goes Down"
Taken from the album Humming
By Duncan Sheik
Bro you should do some Jeff Buckley covers. It sounds like you understand the placement
Edit: WTF why they send you an incomplete version. The last note is nuts
Lilac wine from the same concert is Amazing!!
Don't forget this is a live performance.
The album version is beautiful but he gives it everything on stage.
I'd bought tickets to see him in Sydney and then we learned of his passing. I really felt ripped off we didn't get to see him.
You felt "ripped off" that you couldn't see him because he's dead? That didn't sound right.
I'm sure he didn't mean ripped off financially, he meant ripped off he never got to experience listening to the man sing live.
That was a fantastic reaction video. Subscribed!
C’mon!!!!! Jeff is the greatest!
He’s actually one of Matt Corby’s inspirations. Check out Song For Interlude live by Matt Corby for a similar performance to this one!
A band I got into is Australian metalcore band called thornhill lead singer Jacob Charlton said in plenty of interviews that Jeff Buckley is one of his big influences also Elvis and Gwen from No doubt.
Genius who was taken way too soon !
Awesome stuff again bro. Have you done Halllelujah yet? Best version of anyone ever, period. Also Last Goodbye
