- This is a medium length haircut with some wave and curl in it, leaving it longer to make sure it brings out those curls! It's a great haircut to practice foundational cutting. It's a classic haircut that will never go out of style!

Wow! I’ve been so nervous to touch my sons curls until I watched your video! Now he has a fresh cut and it looks awesome! My first time ever cutting his curls! You made it look so easy and it was pretty easy. Thank you soooooo much! Now my hubby trusts me to do his too. Haha Thank you, thank you!
here to learn how to cut my boyfriend's hair
Wish I had a gf like that
We exist.
Update: We got married a few months ago.
REAL ASF. me rn
Same
Lol! Same! Actually my ex-boyfriend’s hair, but he’s heading to the World Poker Tournie in Vegas in a few weeks so he needs to look spiffy for the Vegas hotties.
I have no intention of cutting my own hair, but still watched the entire video. It's very therapeutic!
She knows exactly what she’s doing. Professional work
Recently had my first professional haircut in my 31 year life. My wife cut my hair for the first time with this video, and it's way better than the cut from the stylist. Super helpful - thanks!!!
Scissor cutting wet hair gives you full control, the best layering and the hair falls in place perfectly. Your cutting style is methodical and yet quickly done with no fuss and pleasing for the client, easy to maintain and nice to watch a talented stylist do such good work. Great job!
Gave my husband his first hair cut after it grew back ..he had a year of chemotherapy which made him bald. Fortunately hair grew back - a little thinner but this style was perfect. You really made it easy and it- he- looks great. Thank you.
Love to hear it, thanks!
My wife cut my hair for the first time after watching your video, she did an excellent job at it, all thanks to you and the amazing clear and instructional videos. Thanks all the best.
Wonderful! Thanks for watching. :)
This is exactly The video I was looking for! My hair is exactly like this person’s and I never know how to tell the barber how to cut it. I wish you lived in San Mateo!!!
Glad I could help!
Such amazing work. The attention to detail for the curls is amazing. Just cut my dads hair using this technique. Looks amazing!
I’ve never cut hair before but as we are in lockdown again I’m going to try. My son has hair that is slightly longer than this and very thick with wavy and curls being weighed down. He’s never had a short hair cut and I’ve always been nervous to give him a horrible haircut while I learn. Going to try following this step-by-step! Thanks!
Amazing! I gave my 18 year old son the best hair cut ever from watching this. Thank you SO much!!
Perfect for my client today. Haven't done a men's wavy cut in several years. I needed a refresher. Thank you!
Thanks so much for sharing this very clear, unfussy video. One of my teenage sons has exactly this type of hair (wavy/curly, and really thick!) and although I sometimes used to cut it myself when he was little I've always been intimidated to cut it since it became more mature hair and ever more unruly so I've sent him to the salon for the past several years! He came back last time quite unhappy with the end result (they left it too much one longer length on top which made it simultaneously flat there and bushy at the sides, one side more so than the other!) and kept asking me if I could "sort it out", I wasn't at all keen but looked at various tutorials and agreed to try after watching this one. Success! It's not a perfect cut- his hair is VERY uncooperative! - but really does look much much better than the salon had done and he's happy with it. Thank you again!
When I watch you cut, I remember loving hairdressing. Best to you Amanda
I could even see your guidelines!! You make it look easy. Please post more videos like this, you’ve helped me so much with sectioning.
Thank you! Will do!
Just followed this tutorial step by step and cut my husbands curly hair! Absolutely brilliant and can’t believe the result! Thank you!
it's so hard looking for a barber or a hairstylist that doesn't use clippers in my area-- I wish there was someone like you around me. Nicely done!!
Thank you! I do find barbers get really good at clippers and stylists get good with scissors but finding both is a challenge I've heard!
Love the way she digs into those sections !
Hi Amanda, greetings from Chester, England UK. I'll say it again, I love watching you section hair! So neat and accurate :) I'm a barber incidentally. Love, NIgel xxx
So natural, so beautiful, a piece of art.
You are really gifted and I bet there are so many barbers and stylists that aspire to be able to cut as well as you. I'm sure your channel will be one of the most successful in your industry.
Just out of curiosity, what scissors do you use?
Wonderful cut. It is a pleasure watching you work.
thank you so much to you and the lovely model for this video!! I've been in charge of hair while quarantining and this was so helpful for cutting my brother's longer curly hair! your skill and precision is so evident in your videos, even an amateur can see that you're a real pro, thank you for sharing your talents with us!
Such an amazing and professional work. Super helpful video, thank you!
Wow, good job.

Love from India😍😎
Good to know!!! I appreciate the feedback. And thank you for the support.💙🙏
Excellent stroke of Scissors Amanda a real Professional One
One of the easiest to understand men’s Curly hair cutting videos! I tried this on my boyfriend with truthfully mediocre results. I was hesitant to take too much off. I think if I tried again and cut a bit more it would turn out better. But hopefully salons will open before that happens, for his sake.
Found your videos around may of 2020 because my boyfriend needed a haircut and we were in lockdown still. I now still cut his hair and I follow this video every single time. It yields great results! My boyfriend doesn’t let anyone but me anywhere near his hair with scissors so I am extremely appreciative for these tutorials. The one thing I still struggle with is sectioning, I can never get it symmetrical. Maybe that is because he has an ungodly amount of cowlicks, but I don’t really know. Are there any tricks to sectioning correctly every time?
I can't say much more than practice but one tip I have is that the head is not symmetrically round. It is flatter on the sides and the back. The corners behind the ears are a "sharper corners". A tip is if you're right handed, stand more left and move your feet. Especially around those tighter corners. These corners are where most people start going longer because they don't move their body enough. If it's getting shorter, then you're cutting into your guide. Also, cross check the hair as you move around the head. And of course, the smaller the sections, the less room for error. Make sure you can see your guide at all times. Good luck!
The way you made it sectioning looks so easy
Yeahhh exactly! So professional. Like how she does that? I believe Its require alot of practice
what an amazing tutorial!
Awesome cleanup!
Awesome cut, did you keep the corner on where the top meets the back? couldnt see too much, you were doing something with vertical sections but much wasnt coming off?
So relaxing to watch!
I'm so glad!
wow video production is awesome
Wow!!!! My partners hair is exactly like this. We are in lockdown in Sydney and he is in desperate need of a cut. This is so perfect. We are doing it tonight. Thankyou so much!!
Let us know how it turned out!
Beautiful cut. Great step by step instructions. Than✂️ you
Excelent presentation! Great job!
Beautiful Haircut! 👊🏽💯
Love your channel ima barber buzz fade type guy and just finger length scissors work ..but this kinda cuts , helps alot watching you just gotta keep watching. these cuts are hard for me I’m sure I’d learn watching you tho great work 🔥
Absolutely beautiful good work!!!
Always so satisfying watching you cut. I honestly wish you were here to cut my super long curls. Im a barber and I wont let any of these guys touch it. I just dint want a short fade with my hairline receipting. I may have to do it myself. Hayelp. 😊
He's so gorgeous. Looks like Tim Holt the actor.
I love your video, but I would have loved it even more if you had explained what you were doing/looking for as you cut. Nice haircut! :)
Super good! Thanks for sharing and please do more. 👍
Loving your technique. I'm curious, why you part the hair down the middle, take vertical sections, then cut straight across the top taking horizontal sections. I was taught to take horizontal first then connect the sides. I'm looking forward to trying your technique next time.
When the sides are connected its easier to decide how much you will take off the top to keep the balance.
My guess as a hairdresser.
I have to cut my sister’s hair who is shut in and she has naturally curly hair too. I’ve saved your video to my favourites. Thank you.
Amazing like always.
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video, we get to see exactly what to do with this kind of hair which many of us struggle with. I would like to know about how much time it takes you? Thanks for the video.
I book on 40 minutes. As you can see, I don't go over my work a lot, a really create the end picture in mind and blueprint out where I'm going so I can just do it 1x.
Tried this on my sons hair and wow 👌 my first time, and it turned out lovely ❤
Thank you so much for this video! It helped me cut my curly husbands hair. Great video! Thanks again
Great work!! Thank you!! Subscribed!
Thanks for the sub!
Great finish product, ur work it's approved!!
Question Amanda, how long it takes to become a master like you. Thank you for these videos all are tremendously helpful.....thank you!!
I would say it was when I started teaching when I really understood hair. I'm 20 years in now but it was probably about 8 years before I felt comfortable with any scenario. HOWEVER, this was after training, educating, teaching....not just cutting but paying attention.
@@AllenRayHair thank you so much Amanda, very professional person.......👍👍
Wow. Never once in my life saw a women cutting mens hair this good. Its really amazing to watch
Thank you for this videos .. i know i can learn more from you.. I'm hair Stylist from Philippines😊
Nice to "meet you"!!! :)
Looks great! I would like to se how it looks with dry hair and how you would style it
With curls, all of my styling is wet. I might add a touch of shine product at the end but once it's dry, I usually don't touch it. Set it and forget it. ;)
Great video!!! Well done!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice work 🥰✌

Hi Amanda, you are a very good Hairdresser. your hairstyles are masterpieces. Of your videos, I really appreciate the backstage editing in which you do, even sticking your tongue out at the camera. I've been following your channel for a long time and your videos are amazing. Too bad I don't live near you, otherwise I would have come to you for my look and I would have liked to make a video of it.Good work. Best Regards
You have a great smiley face.

La mejor mil bendiciones para ti 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Any chance you have an alternative Product solution? They no longer sell this o. Amazon
brilliant
How do you consistently take off the same amount all around the head?! I feel like that would be hard.
And then... is it all kind of one length in all areas?
It's not naturally easy, I agree. That's where discipline and practice come in. :) I had very strict mentors. The most common thing for people, they tend to get longer starting from behind the ear. On the side of the head, it's a flatter area and behind the ear, the sections need to get smaller and the body needs to move quicker because the roundness is "sharper". Pay attention to those areas behind the ear and my best advice is to SLOW DOWN to watch each section, then cross check every 5-6 sections to make sure you're not getting longer (or sometimes shorter which means you're cutting into your section).
You are beautiful, gentle and I believe for sure kind as well. Your clients must be very happy. I am a hairdresser and I would love to cut my hair with you. Blessings from Brazil and I wish you all the best. Thank you for your time and work.
@allenRaySalon It's always very insightful watch Amanda. Thanks a million.
Love how I just tried to do this to myself and now I look like a lollypop that’s been dropped on the carpet.
I love this lady so much. She is just a goddess. I would be an honor having her cut mine. :)
you are so good
Thanks, Great video! What was the hair product you mentioned at the end of the video?
Everything I use is in the descriptions below but here is a direct link to the product. amzn.to/3eC6saA
@@AllenRayHair Thanks a lot!
Nice to see
My friend wants me to cut his hair and I never had wavy hair clients sooo good luck to me 😁😁
Mam I'm a big fan from India love you mam
I wonder... did you also go to the neck to cut the tips and make them equal? I did not see that in the video.
And also I wonder how his ear can be so hairfree despite the length. Did you cur around his ear or is it because you styled it backwards?
I usually just check for evenness on the bottom but I'm careful not to cut into the perimeter. I'm sure I just styled it back and with the curls, it naturally sits off the ears. :)
Wooow god job
nicely done ,where i live so .cal area youngrt guys wearing longer hair ,fades still big with hipster set but movement is with med length. your cuts are always nice and lines seem to be conventional yet they do work,i wish we worked beside eachother.,we cut a lot a like but there is a difference, anyway nice video- stay safe ,cheers.
Nice
Now he's handsome.
Question: when you cut , do you cut at an angle ? Also , how do you know how much you are cutting at the top?
You follow the guide from the hair below, that's how you would know how much to cut. I typically don't cut at an angle but sometimes I need to (think triangles) because there are wider and narrower parts of the head. I hope that helps.
@@AllenRayHair thank you :)
