I teared up when I saw the trailer for Pokemon Legends Z. Pokemon X and Y are two of my favorite Pokemon games. And that fact that Mega Evolution is coming back...God give me strength to wait until next year. Kalos is finally getting the attention it deserves. ❤

The fact that Urban Redevelopment Plan is explicitly shown makes the actual timeframe of Legends Z-A more clear. Urban Redevelopment Plans are specifically used for converting more suburban or rural areas into actual urban cities, so..... This game is happening before or DURING the construction of the Lumiose City we all know.
There was one during the same time as the Meiji era Japan, which is when Arceus takes place. Speaking of Arceus, imagine if like how Ingo showed up there, Emmet shows up here.
I'd agree but also the City Plan at the end is not the one we have currently for the game so to me (alongside the futuristic vibe of this) implies it may be for the future of Lumiose (and I still think development vs. redevelopment says a lot here). Also if we are getting new megas, a futuristic game makes sense for that compared to a game that takes in the past cause they'd have to explain why some Pokemon lost the ability to Mega.

X and Y was a first for me. First Pokemon Game, first 3D story game, first mechanic game, and first fairy type game, even the first to listen to fans suggestions. All the nostalgia overflowing. This makes me remember watching Munchings playthrough too. Finally we get to unfold the full story behind the one game where the anime showed more lore than the game.

I was 9 going on 10 when X & Y first came out. They were the first Pokemon games I’ve officially played and put the most hours into. It made me discover Munch, Tttar and is responsible for a lot of the happiest moments of my childhood. Okay there's 2 possibilities it's either set in a little bit in the future or it's set between the 18th and 19th century. The reason I say that it could be set between the 18 and 19th century because Maybe those were blueprints when the city was being made and they started digital mapping what it looked like in the past.
I was thinking a little bit in the future, like maybe something happened in Hoenn during ORAS and there were unseen consequences in Kalos, like releasing Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza as recklessly as Archie, Maxxie and Zinnia (I think that was her name?) did, disrupted the natural world and released Zygarde? OR it could take place in the not so distant past (think 1960's-1990's) and we'd see, instead of ancestors, younger versions of characters like Lysandre, Diantha and Sycamore. I don't think we'll see the founding of Lumiose because Urban Redevelopment implies that Lumiose already exists.
According to the official site, the re-development of Lumiose is so that people and Pokemon can live together in the city. So it likely takes place in the past but not so distant

I think also the wording of "re-development" is odd though, cause it implies the city was originally developed so they're just improving it. The city plan at the end is also not the current one we have for Lumiose but bigger and if we are getting New Megas, that would imply a future game cause it makes more sense for new megas to be found rather than attempt to explain why some pokemon lost the ability to Mega. I think its up in the air (especially cause the game title alludes to AZ so trying to wrap in the War in the Future seems a bit off). @ngOrange

Personally i grew up with the X and Y anime so this is pretty awesome! I never got to play the game, but seeing it coming back and something the community has wanted for a while is just awesome!
We're finally getting Mega Evolution back & we're FINALLY GETTING POKEMON Z!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Albeit it's interesting that it's in the form of a Legends game; and interesting theories that are forming are possibly either taking place in the era of AZ's time when he was king/the warring Kalos period OR due to despite being a Legends game but we have Cities & the wording of Redevelopment Plans & the art maybe Z-A might take place in the future!!!! My main hope for that when it comes to Megas that we get more Kalos pokemon would get Mega Evolutions considering it's the region that kickstarted the mechanic. A majority of Megas that we have now (from most to least; not including Reversion) mainly are from: Hoenn (20), Kanto (13), Johto (6), Sinnoh (5), & Unova + Kalos have 1 each; so it would be nice to even it out with the region that started the phenomenon for Kalos to gain more Mega Evolutions

A future based Legends game sounds a great idea, can't wait to see it in RL, and to see Kalos post the XY story we know as it's says redevelopment, and the trailer looks/ gives futuristic vibes, it will be interesting to see what they do with this game, plus Megas are returning at last, it's about time they brought them back

This is referencing the Haussmann redevelopment of Paris in the 1850's.

I called it, when everyone was saying Unova I said it would be Kalos, because none of the kalos legendaries are in SV
But to be fair they hammered in Black and White in the Indigo Disc hard
Dynamax dens had The Sinnoh trio legends and we got BdSp and Arceus a year later. Can’t deny we thought Unova remakes 😭

The progression of the legends series is probably different from the main series. I have no doubt we’ll be seeing some Unova in gen 10!
