Kettlebells freaking RULE. My Gf bought me - after I told her how much I love the bells, I've already lifted weights for over 35 years - a 30, a 35 and a 15. She said she saw the difference in my thighs and butt within 3 weeks, doing the deadlifts. Good luck to all, great video!
Same. Within about 3 weeks, my butt and thighs toned and perked up noticeably, and I was already in decent shape. Just doing swings and TGUs.
@@someguyusawhat are TGUs
@@battlefox8460 Turkish Get-Ups
Turkish Get Up. Getting up and down to the floor with a kbell overhead. Do a search.
@@patrickokeeffe4787 awesome, thank you
Double suitcase deadlift is legit. It's gonna sort your backside out (butt, back, and legs).
Heavy Kettlebells are like Bitcoin, if you got in early you are fine.
I bought a pair of 100,125,150,175 and 200 lb kettlebells back in 2008 from New York Barbell Company for $1.25 per pound and they shipped the to me for $100.
They asked me what i was going to do with them, i said swings, goblet squats, suitcase deads but most of all farmers carries.
The 150 lb today is $400 with free shipping. I got 2-150s for $375 back in 2008.
Yep bought mine for £30 each or less (20kg being the heaviest) sand bell is like £65
You can get them now for $1/lb 😂
@@EggplantOven in U.K you can’t
In California I’ve gotten mine all for 1 a pound but they are cast iron but they’ve gotten the job done so far
Sorry bud, but 2008 dollars were worth more than 2024 dollars. You payed about the same if not more than had you bought them now. Inflation is a bbbbbb.....
I’ll tell you what shines, it’s that K-5 Blazer back there.
He is telling the truth. I’ve done the training with kettlebells and it definitely works exactly as he says. Great tool to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
I remember when kettlebells started becoming mainstream in the early 2000’s. The first time I attempted the overhead snatch, I was convinced I’d never get it right. Eventually I played it in my head about a thousand times, then tried again and voila! No more bruised forearms 😂
Are you saying you visualized the correct form?
@@PigmaStatiX156 absolutely! I’ve been a painter for over 25 years. I did the same thing in regards to my form using a brush. I was getting paint everywhere except for where it was supposed to be. I went home after my boss told me he was going to fire me, visualized the proper technique how it was taught to me, the next day I went to work and it was like I’ve been painting for years. I don’t know if it’s visualization or just thinking through the process and just making it happen but, it worked for me many times throughout my life.
@@romie426 that's awesome. Manifestation is a real thing
@@PigmaStatiX156 agreed. I wasn’t sure how far in the weeds you wanted to go with it? lol most people think I’m nuts, even though there’s millions of examples of it being a genuine thing worldwide and throughout history. Godspeed my friend
Some studies have confirmed that visualisation of certain movements activates many of the same areas of the brain as the movements themselves.
Great no-nonsense video. Gave you a thumbs up.
My Deepest THanks to you Mark for sharing your fitness knowledge and training videos. I personally use it and shared it with many Family and Friends who have also gained from Clubs & Kettlebells skills to become functional fitness enthusiasts.
Aloha.
When I first saw kettlebell swing, I didn't understand what was so difficult about it. Then I tried it, and after ten minutes my heart wanted to jump out of my throat... :)
As you get older, please be careful with kettlebell swings.
Good. Now do it for 45 minutes!
10 min straight? That's a long time to swing
@@eenhoYes, I thought I was in good shape, running half marathons, climbing mountains, bench press with 90 kg, I wouldn't even feel this little 16 kg swing. Of course my kettlebell friends smiled at me, "Well, we'll see"...
Good form is the absolute must - poor form can lead to injuries and bad habits.
Found out I was getting a divorce, picked up a kettlebell during the process. Saved my life.
The ending was golden! It's the truth. 😂
APPRECIATE YOU SO MUCH !GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIEND!
71 and cut on kettlebells
this is super useful
I wish "expensive" was what's keeping me from using weights above 32kg :D
The One accessory tool to have is the vaunted KB
45 pounds down & counting he’s right they work I put up 225 15 times at 47 y/o after not working out in years just using a 50 pound kettlebell & reps on a daily I roll out of bed either over the road or at home and just exercise before I start my day and it has done wonders. I still can’t believe it.
Man, that’s a good explanation 🙌
Extremely simple yet effective. You can replace a ton of equipment with a set of Kettlebells. Problem is they do get expensive, if you're getting a good one
The Wildman adjustable kb from bells of steel
The mark 1 adjusts from 12 to 32
41 weights in one item
Expansion bottom from adjustable (Wildman)
Makes the mark 1 go from 8 to 32
The mark 2 from bells of steel adjusts from 6kg to 12kg
I solved the problem of cost, and storage with engineering
I seem to h ave come up against a wall when using heavier bells, so am working with 8s + 10kgs. Is the effect the same? I deadlift a bit heavier, but notice that my body at 81 years old is not as “strong” as previously. Had a stress fracture in my tibia, and now pain in my arm. I put it down to osteoarthritis. I’m still working out and doing more than 100swings per workout plus snatches, clean & press etc. Suitcase deadlifts are good. I am still a fan of your work. Thank you.
It absolutely does not need to be super heavy. I have a new bell coming out that adjusts from 6 to 12. Learning to endure, with these weights, will do wonders for anyone
Hell! You're doing great! Impressive workout.
Just got one in the mail today. Buying more as i go. Went a pretty standard weight to learn form first.
Gold. As usual.
i was doing the same then kettlebell hit my ball now i have many ball.
😂😂
Agreed!! 👍
I would have said that Burpees are the best & you don't need any equipment.
But, kettle bell training is excellent too
That shirt…is he a fellow recon Marine?
If so…Semper fi my brother.
Thank you.
What pants are you always wearing? Looking for comfortable long pants to work out in that aren't tights.

Good

I have rotator-cuff tear in both shoulders, I've been using lightweight kettlebells to deadline and swing. I'm 68 a triathlete and flight Attendant, considering surgery on right shoulder this summer. Tough decision, any suggestions..
He's got a light clubs programme coming out, many stories about people healing shoulders with clubs. Maybe you could give that kind of rehab a shot.
I had a recurring shoulder weakness that I couldn't shake, would constantly flare up or reinjure it ( with kettlebells a couple of times ). Heavy clubs have sorted it out 85% I'd say, my theory is the rotational movement worked on the scartissue but i've no idea ! going on 2 years now and it doesn't give me pain anymore.
Mark mentions Indian clubs to someone in comments also, for injury rehab, same 'light' club work to start with
Any advice for shoulder pain? Maybe arthritis, maybe old injury, maybe both.
Light weights + bands/cables = hard to speak directly to your situation but I’ve seen a ton of workouts and rotator cuffs be neglected; don’t rush up the weight too early and doing a rehabilitation program might serve you well - I’ve had two major reconstructive surgery and bolts placed - still climbing so don’t lose hope
Advice needed, my weekly routine at the moment consists of an upper body day, a lower body day and a day or 2 of grappling with a run thrown in somewhere. I would like to incorporate a kettlebell workout somewhere, do you think it would be best to throw in some swings at the end of the lower body session or have a seperate day where i do a circuit training KB workout involving swings, squats and presses? Just trying to work out what is best as i do not want to overtrain but i do also feel like im missing out by not using kettlebells. Thanks
100%!
Cheapest is pushups
Push ups squats and pull ups but KB add different variety and rotation, so worth listening. Since Mark I’ve become a heavy club owner which is very fun to do and amazing for the body
Can you tell me how you started your heavy club work and what exercises?@@peterm7348
Burpees. I worked up to 1,000 last year. But kettlebells definitely take less time.
@@lwmarti that’s the problem and I am of the opinion burpees jolt the back/ pelvis
I've never had back or pelvis issues from insane amounts of burpees. On the other hand, it definitely took my knees and elbows a while to adapt to them. They'd start to complain at around sets of 150 to 200. Now that I'm focusing on clubs and kettlebells, I've backed off to a relatively sane set of 100, twice a week. But adapting to the huge anerobic/aerobic load that they put on your body is definitely interesting. The first six weeks or so of burpees causes an extreme level of discomfort/suffering, but once your body adapts, they're just like any other exercise.
The only thing I can imagine is nailing my knee with the kettlebell 💀
i dont think selling a double suitcase deadlift as the second excersize is the way forward when talking about the cheapest entry in to lifting weights. If i had to buy 2x16 kettlebells in my first week i would have been put off, ~£30-45 for a 16kg is super affordable.. double that and its a much bigger commitment for many.
Worth thinking about, I really appreciate the videos mark.
Would it be the same if you had one kettlebell and pick it up with two hands from between feet instead of double suitcase deadlift?
Can I do it with a 1 year old because I don't have a kettle bell
Your content is very concise and informative. Thanks very much.
Just do suit case lift, no need for double.
why?
He ain't lying. Trying to get kettlebells is expensive and they are never in stock.
That's a no for me on the swings, my wife had a big disc problem in her back because of lateral force on the spine.
Investigate Indian club swinging.
> above that they get more expensive
me:
I just had to have them.
Get the 44s as well!
I'm a big kettlebell fan but "for the least amount of money" is bullplops. Those iron balls are very expensive. The cheapest is nothing, cannot beat that.
Cheapest would be no equipment calesthenics
@@Andmaj that's what I said. Yeah
You're a certified kb trainer?
If you dont leave your house, at least do the hand to hand swing, in the basement...or a room with no obstacles, children, pets, and yes, some padding in front of you.
The amount of intrusive thoughts to just let go when I do swings in the living room is about three per rep
Burpees.
Dude looks strong….but wouldn’t call him fit.
Uh.. there is no double suitcase deadlift, it is just called a deadlift
Suitcase implies outside the body line. Like you would pick up two suitcases…. As opposed to barbell deadlift, as opposed to atlas stone deadlift.
@@MarkWildman maybe i was confidently incorrect. Thanks for explaining.
Not true. Burpees don't cost anything and are much easier to learn.
Ok
Just don't get a hernia
K
It is still too far from what can be done with a barbell and plates of different weights
Disagree. The easiest way to get into shape, the fastest, for the least amount of money is with a barbell and plates.
Endurance weightlifting can be achieved with a barbell.
The barbell can be better loaded. Smaller increments. Higher loading potential.
The barbell is better for explosive strength.
The barbell is better for speed strength.
The barbell is better for strength.
The barbell is better for hypertrophy.
Kettlebells are like the sprinkles on top of the cake. They are not the sponge.
Ok
Liked the way Mark restrained himself in his response to you but with all due respect, you really need to pay attention. He said "for the least amount of money at home". Barbells are way more expensive and not everyone have the space to have a barbell set up at home.
he said the cheapest way without leaving your house genius
Noooooo it's the burpee
About 80 % of the population can not do burpees. Doing burpees means your body already functions pretty well…. There for it is not in consideration for almost anything
Not everyone needs a you tube channel
This guys actually super legit
Tell me you're ignorant without telling me you're ignorant 😊
But why is mark fat?
Mark is a cripple who ripped his leg in half in the circus and he’s waiting on a 4th leg surgery so he can run again. Complete PCL, Lcl disruption
Even “fat” mark can climb a rope upside down and shield cast an 80 lb club for reps
The reason mark can even walk is club and kb training
