  • The CBS 1968 fall line-up.This clip has some failed tv pilots, not that they never aired, just failed and some classic television. Mayberry RFD (the next chapter so to speak of the popular "The Andy Griffith Show") and Hawaii Five-0 of course were very popular shows that people still remember from this season. CBS attempted to make the comic strip Blondie into a show, but from the looks of it not even Jim Backus could save it!
Oddly enough the trailer for "The Good Guys" stars Bob Denver who also starred with Jim Backus on "Gilligan's Island" which had ended in 1967, also a CBS show.
Glad to be able to share some classic television memories with you, if you like this clip, check out my growing channel for more old TV shows and classic movies.

Love it nothing like the original Hawaii 5 0

The way this "fall preview" was assembled, it could be presented as a complete special- or the previews of each new show could be aired individually, in various time periods around the local station's schedule wherever a few minutes was "open" {during a movie, or after a newscast}. The "window" these previews- or the full half-hour - could be shown was between August and September 22nd, 1968.

That picture jumping really brings back old school memories when we had those kind of tv's.

Lancer had promise, but even Andrew Duggan couldn't keep series longer than two seasons.

The series had decent ratings in the first season, but its competition- "THE MOD SQUAD", on ABC- attracted more viewers, and season two was "disappointing" to the network......and that's why they cancelled it in 1970.

James Stacy before the accident. Kind of odd that Andrew Duggan asks for his arms and legs.

Yes! on April 22nd of that year he had a special on CBS promoting his latest album and if you look very closely at 18:33, it's literally just a couple frames, there is a very short clip of that special as well. Good find! Thanks for watching

So was Lancer hair tonic, as advertised on the "What's My Perversion?" segment of Woody Allen's "EYAWTKAS...BWATA".

1,, It showed Lucy but now Lucy
    2. It went until Thursday but no Friday.
    3. I did not realize Mayberry RFD ran three years. Worse show I ever saw.
    4. Hawaii 5-0 became a legend. These are the only two shows you can call winners. All the rest were losers!

That's because there were no new programs scheduled on Fridays that fall. CBS continued its successful lineup of "THE WILD WILD WEST", "GOMER PYLE, U.S.M.C." and "THE CBS FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIES".

They also had nothing ready from THE DORIS DAY SHOW to air...and the opening still shows Bea Benaderet, although she had already left PETTICOAT JUNCTION (and would die that October...her husband following within days)

James MacArthur's scenes came from the episode "Samurai", as a different actor played Danny Williams in the pilot movie.
