VHS Commercials And Trailers
The commercials and movie trailers on VHS movies we watched as kids burned themselves into our minds at times due to the fact that we watched them repeatedly on a loop. People from a certain generation have some fond memories and emotional responses to many of these commercials as it takes us back to a time when life was much more simple and secure.

Time and Temperature Phone Numbers
zhlédnutí 1,1KPřed 2 lety
Calling the old time and temperature phone line back in the day. You may not know what this is, but it is still used by thousands across the US even now. Watch the video to learn about the old time and temp lines or reminisce. Thanks for stopping by!
Gilligan's Island and President Kennedy
zhlédnutí 430Před 2 lety
The first pilot episode was being filmed for the classic television show Gilligan's Island when President John Kennedy was assassinated. The cast and crew experienced this dramatic event cut off from the United States mainland, watching the events unfold on television and listening on radio. Ultimately, several of the cast involved in this pilot would be replaced by the actors we came to know a...
Mel Blanc's Near Fatal Accident
zhlédnutí 1KPřed 2 lety
The voice of Barney Rubble and countless other classic cartoons, Mel Blanc, had a disastrous auto accident in Los Angeles. If you've watched any amount of The Flintstones over the years, then you have likely heard the results of this accident in the changes of the voice of Barney. From the first episode to the last, Barney's voice changed a few times.
1968 CBS Fall Line-Up, Hawaii Five-0, Mayberry RFD
zhlédnutí 8KPřed 5 lety
The CBS 1968 fall line-up.This clip has some failed tv pilots, not that they never aired, just failed and some classic television. Mayberry RFD (the next chapter so to speak of the popular "The Andy Griffith Show") and Hawaii Five-0 of course were very popular shows that people still remember from this season. CBS attempted to make the comic strip Blondie into a show, but from the looks of it n...
Super Circus 1954 Restored Classic Television Show
zhlédnutí 3KPřed 5 lety
Super Circus aired on Sundays from 1949 to 1956 on ABC. The show is set up like a circus having circus clowns and different acts in "rings" and the host is called a "ringmaster". This episode has one of those exciting, live, early TV moments! One of the Performers here has a small accident that could have been much worse, but temporarily stops the show, watch to find out what it is! Kellogg's i...
The Ed Wynn Show Jan 14th 1950 Restored Television Show
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 5 lety
The Ed Wynn show aired from September 22, 1949 to July 4, 1950 on CBS. It was broadcast live in Hollywood and recorded via kinescope, sent east and broadcast a week later. The show gave a lot of stars their first live TV appearance and won an Emmy award for best live show in 1950. As far as classic television shows go, I like this one. Ed Wynn can't be beat! Listen to see of you can hear when h...

It wasn't only the Williams brothers and their American Sign & Indicator firm. You also had Edward J. Schulenberg and his business, Time-O-Matic; the way that company's time and temp displays were laid out differed significantly. Barnett National Bank's was Time-O-Matic's "Time-O-Temp" system, with 4 x 7 'open throat' numerals.

This is awesome! I'm so used to trying to watch tired, worn out old kinescopes. Amazing to almost see what it was like when it was televised. The audio is so clean too. One of the few hit early TV shows that were live in LA and kinescoped to New York. It was almost always the other way around. This is how "I Love Lucy" would've looked if Desi didn't come up with the motion-picture 3-camera set-up that would become standard. I wish these restored shows were on DVD. I would love to watch them on my '49 Admiral console TV.

The way this "fall preview" was assembled, it could be presented as a complete special- or the previews of each new show could be aired individually, in various time periods around the local station's schedule wherever a few minutes was "open" {during a movie, or after a newscast}. The "window" these previews- or the full half-hour - could be shown was between August and September 22nd, 1968.

The series had decent ratings in the first season, but its competition- "THE MOD SQUAD", on ABC- attracted more viewers, and season two was "disappointing" to the network......and that's why they cancelled it in 1970.

1,, It showed Lucy but now Lucy 2. It went until Thursday but no Friday. 3. I did not realize Mayberry RFD ran three years. Worse show I ever saw. 4. Hawaii 5-0 became a legend. These are the only two shows you can call winners. All the rest were losers!
