- My first CZcams video and the first introduction to the Nortent new Vern 2. My next video will be the first adventure in early spring weather conditions.
I purchased this tent and the Vern 1 with my own money, along with every bit of kit I own.
Please check out these other channels and give them a watch.

Great to see a tent being reviewed by a big guy, where you can get an honest take on the usable room available. I've had the same problems over the years.
Agreed. And seems like most tent reviews are being made from guys shorter than 6ft. Thanks for watching.
Very nice good From Multan Pakistan
Excellent job. Thorough and informative. Really like your tent.
Thank you for watching. Can't wait for next winter to get the woodstove in it. 👍
super tent buddy, nice review
Much appreciated. Thanks for watching. 👍🏼
not a brand that is common here in Australia, but look to be very high quality material, and design. So many great designs in the industry going beyond either tunnel or geodesic dome options. Looks like it can handle big winds which is always our concern in alpine areas.
Double poling is recommended for high wind situations.
Great job, and thank you for the imperial conversion!!
Thanks for watching.
I was so happy to see this video! I purchased this exact same tent from them 4 months ago and it's finally getting shipped as of yesterday (I live in the states). This was very helpful and thank you!
Thanks for the kind words. Did you get the footprint too. If you did, I found the easiest way to put it on, is to simply invert the tent on something soft and then clip it in while inverted. Shiny side up like the bathtub floor. Thanks for watching.
Absolutely bomber base camp tent. Love it. Thanks for measuring the inside as its actually wider than the 130 cm me and my wife like so all great ! Cheers. Andrew
Thanks Andrew, and while I didn't take a physical measurement of the inside headroom, it was plenty for anyone who is tall. Within reason of course. The upcoming video will be the forest camp.
Ty for making this video! Love this tent.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for a nice view of the tent!
Thanks for watching.
That was a good watch. Well done on getting this out there. Destined to be a much sort after tent. ATB Fellmandave
Thanks Dave, it was you and a few others who inspired me into taking this CZcams journey. Cheers mate.
@@BrokenVikingOutdoors good luck!
Thanks for the vid. A lot of room here dedicated to the vestibules, so if you're not into cooking, it seems like a waste. Lovely looking tent and for car-camping I think I might go for it. I'm 6'2" also, so at least I know I'll fit!
For car camping I'd go with a Gazelle T4 Overland Edition. You can stand up in a Gazelle. And enough room for two full size cots, and more.
Looks like a great tent, but heck, it's heavy.
There is always a compromise. I'll take the weight knowing I have a bombproof shelter that will keep me safe in all weather conditions. Thanks for watching.
I agree with you. I may even get this tent at some point. I'm just a smidge surprised at the weight. I guess I just want a fantasy tent that's as strong as this one, and light too .....which doesn't exist. @@BrokenVikingOutdoors
It's always a good idea to distribute the weight between the person sharing the tent, so that in itself halves the weight. @citizenwolf8720
Nice video Sr
Much appreciated. Thank you for watching me stumble through my first video.
That looks really well thought out .i suppose split between 2 adults 2.5 kg each isnt so bad especially for such .quality and space .proper mountain / expedition tent.
Good video well done .
Definitely, splitting it up between two people makes sense. For me, I don't mind the weight, but in a 60L pack, that's a lot of room that gets eaten up.
Great series of tents nonetheless. Well thought out and bombproof. Thanks for watching.
Great first vid. Its a lot of tent for 5kg. Should be a real bombshelter. 👍
Cheers mate. Much appreciated.
Some people whinge about weights down to the point of ridiculous. Personally I've had to carry a lot of weight in my career, so anything under 100lbs is a bonus.
Some people = Ultra light fanatics. I'll take safety any day.
@@Shinykip I'm with you there.
My buddy has a Nortent but it's a dome style hot-tent for maybe 6 people. I loved his tent. It seemed like a really nice quality product but I cannot afford the brand. I use a twin peak hot-tent which is a bit shabby but gets the job done. If I had the money to splurge on a new/better hot-tent I'd definitely be looking at the nortent brand.
Another brand Pomoly makes hot tents, too. I have their Titanium mini 2.0. Stove. Good quality 👌🏼 Thanks for watching.
It would be great if you were able to leave links to the gear you use in the description box.
As a new channel it takes a couple of months until they let me link things properly.
@@BrokenVikingOutdoors no worries I understand that, just hoping to point you in the direction I want. Not going to lie to you.
@alpinealpine2793 🤣 I have to get verified first which has certain criteria, views, subscribers etc. Even my links for other people's channels aren't highlighted yet.
@@alpinealpine2793 I think it's in place to stop fraud and scammers.
Nice video, thanks. But where is the groundsheet? Isn't that included?
The bathtub style floor is attached to the tent inner, and you have the option to purchase the extra footprint which is shown in the video. The footprint covers the area of the bathtub floor and both vestibules. Thanks for watching.
@@BrokenVikingOutdoors Thanks for reply. Cheers.
Nice review. Why was the the Vern 2 purchased over Vern 2 PC?
Nortent only make the New Vern 1 in Polycotton.
I am 6'6 tall - do you think I will squeeze in - perhaps on an angle? Also - do you know how this compares to the Allak 2 in terms of 1) quality and 2) robustness?
On an angle yes. I can't really comment on the comparison between the Hilleberg Allak as I've never owned Any Hillebergs. But as a Nortent Vern 1 and 2 owner. I can't fault the quality of both tents. Thanks for watching.
is the tent more than 1000 ponds ? or 1550 us dollar ?
No, it's less.
I purchased one now. bro, is it freestanding tent too, right?
Yes, it is free standing, just like the New Vern 1. Thanks for watching.

i see there are so much similarity between hilleberg and nortent for example way of attach pols and material used for hooks and other . are there any pantent problem here or all are normal design in both brand ??
Hi, as I've never owned any Hillebergs fine products, I cannot comment on their designs etc. What attracted me to the Nortent company was their willingness to listen feedback from customers. I was looking at Hillebergs but the Nortents are better suited to my needs and requirements.
These Vern tents seem nice but for that weight….there are much tougher tents than these. I.e North Face VE-25, Ferrino snowbound or mountain Hardware Trango etc.
That's the nice thing with tents, lots of choices for everyone's needs. The weight doesn't bother me to be honest. Currently out in it right now.
@@BrokenVikingOutdoors
All right!! Hope you’re having an excellent time out there! I’d like to be doing the same!! I’m more than willing to carry extra weight too if needed. Cheers!
