Wonderful! The next generation being taught by his loving father. I have had the enormous pleasure of having six children, 5 boys and one girl. And now at the age of 70 I am reaping the rewards of fatherhood. All my boys and my daughter love fishing and I’m never short of company when I go out. The time and thought you put into your children when they are young will reward you with more love and joy than you can ever imagine in your later years. Yet another lesson in how to appreciate the really important things in life. Well done and thank you!

What a fine young boy !!!! I remember when my boys were that age. Dad was amazing to them. Now they are 21 and 19 and starting their own adult lives. I wish we could go back sometimes....at least for a short while. Cherish the time with little James !!

Well this time James wasn't hoping for a dolphin! I love that your family goes with you. James is going to have many wonderful stories to tell. I love that he get so excited when there are lobsters in the pots even though he isn't able to eat them. One day when our prayers are answered and he no longer has leukemia he will hopefully get to eat one. Sending prayers and thank you for sharing.

You are giving your son the most valuable education in life, not only are teaching him about marine life and the values of preservation. But also how to measure and know the correct sizes of things. Things he will never learn in school. You are teaching the way our fore fathers did in years before schooling. I used to work for a guy who couldn't read or write but had his own business and many properties. He eventually died a very wealthy person.. So forget all these O levels and A levels they are just pieces of paper that prove nothing. Life's lessons learnt from our parents and grand parents are more valuable. I still use the lessons taught to me, to this day. That was a long time agoooooooo. lol .... Del
- Haha. I know quite a few people who didn't have any real education at all and are very successful. I also know some people with more degrees than pounds in the bank. I am just trying to share what I love with my family. Teaching him the right way to interact and appreciate the natural world. After all, this world will soon belong to him. I'm a proud dad myself, of a 7 year old boy with autism. He wanted to go fishing, so I took him to my favorite trout brook last weekend. Sadly the mosquitoes were thick, and he was having none of that. I think we'll try shore fishing Mackerel next, less chance of those little blood suckers. I have a new favorite FishLocker video! (Well, in the top ten ;) I love when you check the pots, the suspense of what’s been caught is exciting. But the way you and James interacted had me smiling the whole way through. James is, as you Brits say, a legend! To have such a joyful heart and such a loving attitude - he’s an inspiration. As I sit here feeling lousy after another treatment today - Watching James was a kick in the pants for me to quit the self pity and embrace life with a smile. Finding joy in the small things, like a starfish or a lobster with a boo boo. 💗

For 20 years I used to visit my cousin in Brittany who lived in a fisherman's cottage. We spent days out on the sea, checking the pots, fishing for bass and Gurnard etc, sadly he had to give it all up due to ill health so your videos are a wondeful reminder of some of my happiest memories.
