- Spring time is upon us and I thought it was time to try and put out the lobster pots again. Here is the first set and hand haul of our lobster and crab pots for 2021. I hope this is how the year intends to continue.

Last year i dropped my pots off the rocks but this year itl be off my very own little fishing boat. Cant wait im chomping at the bit mate. 💪🏻🦀🦞
can you speak some about how to prevent loosing fishing gear, if you haven't already? we see tons and tons of lost pots in particular when we go diving, and it's quite disheartening
Certainly want to obey all local laws while taking fish and game. Not doing so here can not only result in hefty fines, or even jail, but far worse the loss of fishing and hunting privileges.
John thank you for taking me fishing with you. I am over 75 and have some medical issues but I love the sea and watching you gives me great joy.

I liked the sped up shot tossing the traps with the sky reflected in the sea and rippling in the boat's wake. Looks amazing.

We have found that the last 2 years has flown as we are always busy with some fishing or foraging. 😊

Nice to be located close to the ocean. Being in Cornwall, you can listen to Fishermen Friends while setting out the traps.

You seem a happy soul. I spent many a happy day in Cornwall, I guess it's infectious. Many moons ago I bought a large cod straight off the boat, sorted it and cooked it in butter wrapped in tinfoil over the fire embers. Flakes of cod the size of the palm of your hand, that and some butter and crusty bread. Nearly had an organism. (something like that). Great video, thanks and good luck for this season.

Great first drop of the pots mr locker so pleased to see you dropping them again I’m still potty about the pots . Let’s hope that’s a good indicator for sure and also the sea state has a few more days like that in the coming months , but not always 😉

It's always so entertaining to see what you find in your traps. Seems like the limits are low for the crabs and lobster, but I guess you can't fight "city hall" right? LOL
Any many that can eat 2 lobsters and 3 crabs every day is well fed. I have no complaints. 😊🦞

Hello again my friend on the other side of the pond.I speak quite often with a friend of mine in Feltham.
I see she is about 4 1/2 hours driving time from you.
If I was living there i would definetly live in your part of the UK.
She is right in the city...and you are like me here in Florida.Right on the coast.Old salts like you and I wouldn't do very good far away from the sea I'm afraid.
I moved to the mountains about 15 years ago and guess what?? That lasted for about 6 months..LOL.
I was a saltwater fish out of water !

Now we have 40s/m wind and some hail and snow😫 but not long for some good weather 👍 have a good one mate😃

hello i seem to remember people catching crabs and the small ones they would take them back to the shore and tying string to the leg of the crab and keeping it until they were big enough to eat the put them by the pub so the kitchen scraps fed them all the best keep safe
That wouldn't work. Crabs and lobsters shed their shells to grow. So tying string to them would be useless?

They are on the walk after staying deep over winter, April is usually a good month they move back inshore ready to await breeding season in summer..
