  • Have you ever wondered what is happening underwater by your bait when you're fishing? I fish several different locations throughout a tide showing what is happening underwater on the seabed and the many different sea creatures that live there. Reef, harbour, pier wall and deeper water.
    Don't forget to check out our sister channel ‪@thefishlockerworkshop‬ for helpful reviews and videos.

    Possibly the best UK fishing docu-series at present. Love how you blend technology with the simple narration. You take the time to explain (the good stuff) which most TV fisherman skip over. You are certainly up there with Matt Hayes and the late John Wilson in this exact aspect.

    Reflecting what a lot are saying - this really adds a missing component, to already great stuff. It would make a nice touch just to add 5 mins onto the back of most of your pure fishing installments. The extra work you will have to add, may be more than it's worth, but it may increase your regular viewer figures. No-one else on CZcams gets me back for every installment like you guys do, just brilliant! love it and am seriously glad you keep doing it. Thanks John, Hannah and James.

    Eh up John you granted my wish to see more of the bottom and it was fantastic. It amazes me how much life there is to see in run of the mill places, the harbour wall fascinated me because I always feel those areas would be fished to nothing, yet there were some lovely species and good sizes all around. Your expression at catching the Gobi just showed that it's not always about size and it's again about species....Bloody Lovely! Take care keep it up and much much more

    You're right, you never know what the sea bed will deliver until you drop a camera down there. I would have laughed if a crab had tried to walk off with it! haha, the crabs point of view of a sea bed! I really enjoy seeing footage underwater. Even one just below the surface watching a fish on the hook would be fun. I wonder if somehow a camera could be on the line and see the whole fight...might be too much of a distraction for a fish to bite. Anyway, keep experimenting! I love it!

    • @TheFishLocker
      @TheFishLocker  Před 3 lety +1

      A camera on the line swings about too much in the tide and makes a really poor video. Plus as you touched on, it effects the bait presentation.

      @@TheFishLocker One thing that would be awesome would be fishing for tope (or porgies) using a bait suspended on a float and having a camera pointing at it on another float etc, set at the same depth. Seeing a shark take a bait would be great

    • @TheFishLocker
      @TheFishLocker  Před 3 lety +1

      @@masterblob7196 not sure how you would be able to rig that up. The camera would spin in the tide.

    • @masterblob7196

      @@TheFishLocker I was thinking that would be the probem...what I thought of was potentially some sort of device based on a wind vain, or think the rudder of an airplaine. A stick underneath the camera in the direction of filming with a fin/fixed rudder etc at the end, so the camera is always pointing downtide. I understand it would be a bit complicated :) could be some awesome footage though!

    Stunning footage, John. Some really interesting insight into what is happening when my rigs are on the seabed. I think anyone who watches this is going to be a better fisherman for it. Certainly explains how crabs are stripping my baits so quickly! Had no idea they could find a bait that fast! Would love to see more of this type of content. @@TheFishLocker It's incredibly useful, huge potential to illustrate the feeding habits of fish and why certain rigs are better/worse or targeting certain species. For example this video did a perfect job of showing why you're probably not going to catch a ray on a flapper rig! I assume it's plain common sense to someone of your experience but invaluable to a relative newcomer like myself. Oh god! I can't imagine the anticipation/worry of reviewing the underwater footage after a session 🤣.
