A simple and effective way to not damage a fish. Thanks for sharing I now need to hunt down a few wire coat hangers lol
I'm using this Disorger since 1 year and its great to unhook flounders. No Blood, Not realy damage to the fish. Quick and easy.
Greetings from Germany 👍

A really great tool, I'll try a smaller version on course fish, thanks for sharing it with us.
John so informative well done a great video
looks like it works... nice
Nice one John! Useful information well explained. Lovely Flounder. Nice to see you back in the workshop! Winter is here, must be time for some more Pallet woodspoiling! 😁😁 Stay safe & well! 👍👍
Thank you for this, appreciate it very much
very ingenious
I learnt from an old boy i think around waltin naize and clacton pier! To have a length of wool twine etc usually dyed red snelled to bend of the hook not only is it a bait enhancer you can use it to tug the hook through the gills to unhook flatties dabs mostly!
wow you have one more chanel 🍀😉👍
Really informative tutorial, I will use this procedure from now on, would there any further benefit in using a circle / barbless hook for deeply hooked fish? Thanks
Very informative video John well done, can the same type of disgorger and technique be used with other species of fish?? Cheers
I love the *flap* *flap* of the flounder at the end. How much did you pay for such a perfect actor? 🤣
Seems that any fish Course,Sea or Game that is allowed to hook itself can become deeply hooked and gorge the hook...striking earlier could prevent this I'm guessing.
Bro that looked well easy need something for dog fish lol those things are a right pain for taking ya hook all way down
Hi John. I'm still really confused by this and trying to get my head round how the hook actually turns around inside if it's hooked into fish? Could you maybe please do another video and try and demonstrate without a fish so we see what happens?
Took me a second to work it out but I understand. You need to wrap around the line and not the hook, this tool hooks above the eye and spins the shank around where its hooked, if you're careful you can ease the hook around, letting the hooked bit slide around the bend as you pull the eye down deeper into the throat with a small loop of line hanging out the gills. Unwind the tool, when you look into the mouth, you should be able to see the hook bend rather than the hook eye. Hook this tool onto the hook and give a firm tug to pull the barb out and the hoop of line. You are going to cause damage the second the hook went in, but this method ensures you do very little damage when pulling it out.

Nice demo. I first saw this on Fisho's CZcams channel. That has disappeared now. Does anyone know why?
Billy"fisho" Bantock is alive, well and still fishing the local beaches. He felt he'd gone as far as he could with the channel.
@@robsmith7391 Thanks for the reply. Thats good to know. Shame the channel was deleted.
Can't get my head around this.
Surely when the hook is turned around it makes a new hole in the fish, then when its pulled back through the mouth that line that's been pulled out through the gills is also pulled through that new hole and tears between the initial hole and the new hole caused by puncturing the fish twice?
Isn't it easier and less harmful to just pull the hook out backwards through the gills then snipping it off?
Sam here. I'm really confused as to how the hook turns around in fish.
@@Adam_Outdoors If in doubt there is no doubt. This method is bull crap.
Condoms with the tips cut off make great practice fish. Its funny because it's true
U LOOK LIKE MR.BEAN😅
No he doesn't
Thanks a lot.Regards from Greece.
Ive saved this one John.
Going to try this as always having difficulty with this even with Gemini Disgorger and many others ive bought.
Stevie in Fife.
or use circle hooks
90% doesn’t work for flounders or dabs. The shape of their mouths and the way they feed doesn’t turn the circles.
@@thefishlockerworkshop Nope not true they work very well on flat fish. Give them a proper try.
@@CJB- If you say which true circle hooks you have found most effective I think that may help people.
