  • Rock pooling and Beachcombing after bad weather can be really interesting. You honestly never know what you might find. In this video I identify and explain many different seaweeds and underwater sea creatures. Including a species I have never seen before.

    I am going to be taking James and some of his classmates out for some shoreline education sessions in the summer. If we have any dates free would anyone else be interested? Government restrictions allowing of course. 😊

      Wanted to do similar with my wee man's school but my work PVG (for a school) doesn't cover me for a different school. And the staff didn't want the kids getting dirty. Hope you have better luck than me lol

      It does happen on occasion. Every day is a school day. I will generally know the family and the genus just occasionally not the exact species. 😉👍🏻

    It was so cute how the squat-lobster seemed so much calmer around you after you removed its parasite. I know I'm anthropomorphizing the little critter, but it always feels like creatures are saying _'Thank you!'_ when they do that~

      @@TheFishLocker Even some bugs will display gratitude, at times. It's bizarre behavior to see from creatures with brains smaller than a grain of couscous, but always such a warm feeling. They always know~

    I rcognise the shore, if i'm right, back in 1950/55 we used to play on the old beached German U boats, probably some remains still there somewhere.

    (A) only marked down because it was too short! Always brilliant, educational and relaxing add to that great commentary and filming. Nice that your taking James and other children out on the beach to educate them. It used to happen when I was in primary school in the very early sixties, it should be part of the curriculum and coupled with education on litter and the need to conserve, perhaps the future would be in better hands.

    I absolutely could watch you doing this for hours. So interesting. You are to the sea creatures what Steve Erwin was to Crocks. Few people cared much about crocks and even feared them until he came along. You show up on the Sean and make tide pools way more interesting than they already are. Please keep making videos like this. BTW, cool accent.

    Great vid as usual.My Daughter still loves rock pooling (As I still do) and she is 21 now!..The last time we had big easterly's (The Beast from the East) on our coast the stuff that got washed up was unbelievable,They even did a rescue mission for the Lobsters as people were taking them home by the wheelbarrow.The tons that got saved were taken out to deep water.Black Lug and razors everywhere and hundreds of Octopus plus fish species we never thought lived in the North sea.
