The Waiting Episode is based off a children’s picture book and in the book the prize was a piece of string that SpongeBob and Patrick snap in half, hold a funeral for, and Squidward ties the two pieces together to fix it. I just vividly remember having the book way before the episode premiered

I remember seeing that at Barnes & Noble. I believe in that version, they specifically ask the mailman about what they’re waiting for on the second day, and he tells them that those things take weeks to get back to you. I stopped reading there, possibly because I couldn’t imagine where the story could go from there.

The Boat Smarts episode is funny, but find it odd they make Spongebob a complete idiot in EVERYTHING to do with driving. He always knew the technical aspects (see Pizza Delivery) he just couldn’t ever apply them without the anxiety kicking in.

Spy buddies is definitely my favorite one out of these. Such a fun and creative concept. There’s been episodes about spongeBob secretly watching Plankton but I really love this spy approach to a Plankton episode. Patrick going along with SpongeBob is nice. One of my favorites from this season!

These two episodes did try something different for once. Instead of 2 segments for each episode, these two episodes had 3. I’m pretty sure the only episode that had three segments was the very first one, so it’s kind of interesting to see this show go back to that strategy.
