A lot of very light sentences here. The justice system has become a joke.
Especially since the full sentences are rarely served. Prison overcrowding is a huge reason criminals are released early.
You get more for smoking a joint in America.
@@christhornycroft3686that’s not true at all
When the cop asked do you have a child with special needs She says yes I did.. That's what you call a Freudian slip
Yep, that past tense stands out loud and clear when you're talking about someone missing.
They left A LOT of details out of the first story. For good reasons tho. What they did to that poor boy is so horrible, I don't even have words for it. This case broke my heart😢
Care to elaborate, I'm curious about the details.
The details of this child's life were so awful, then after dying to be thrown away like that...the plea deal caused a lot of uproar. The judge's sentencing was right.
the poor child was tortured over a period of time and beaten to death...so no, a cold shower did not kill him
The first case with Larissa Rodriguez, she and her boyfriend, abused and finally killed the young child. Then buried his body. 🙁
Usually when they say that they feel remorse, it seems like they only have remorse for getting caught. It’s been my observation that a confidential informant is usually someone looking for leniency in their own case or there is a reward for information. All they do is listen for people who talk about what they have done and report it to the authorities.
Hi Kabir! With the couple in Utah, where the girl died of an overdose, they probably took into account time served and the fact that the girl who died was a willing participant.
U can't consent if u are under age, drunk, or under the influence of drugs. That poor girl was all 3. Its absolutely a travesty that sentence.
I have watched this couple and you really need to listen to the jail calls between the two while he was in jail on child support charges to hear how Chris and Larissa would talk to each other if his brother never called the police the little boy in the home would’ve been next! Terrible 😢
So the sex offender list can range from public exposure (think someone pissing in public), some States apply it for 17 and 18 year olds situations, all the way to the sex offender monsters that are terrifying. I’m not sure which one the guy murdered was but I seriously doubt this couple took the time to find out either.
Even if it's the latter that still doesn't justify murder.
@@Alice-me2qk No it doesn’t. But my point is, they didn’t even know if he was actually a sex offender or someone who pissed behind a dumpster. They used a sex offender label to justify their actions but if hadn’t been that, they would have found something else.
The more I look at human beings the more I love dogs. SMH
Depending which state one committed as well as the severity of the crime some sentences will be lighter than others. Also the wording of the sentencing is very important as you heard the judges say consecutive vs concurrent. Consecutive is jail time serve in a row vs concurrent are all the charges lump together and the highest jail time given will be served for all the crimes.
Look at Dia Millerberg''s forehead when she fakes crying. Smooth as a baby's bottom; not a single grief wrinkle. You can even see her mentally prepared to go into her act.
There is a reason for long terms. In some states a "Life Sentence" really does NOT mean what it says. The offender might be eligible for parole after serving as little as 15 or 20 years. Therefore, in REALLY awful cases, the sentence is specified in a large number of years or months which means that the convicted criminal will effectively receive a "Life Sentence".
You can kind of accept that a single person is crazy and does something horrendous...but a couple? Were they individually nutters before they met and totally evil when those 2 combined? Hard to fathom
The story with Alexis Rasmussen…she was not a lady, this was a minor child. They both got SUPER light sentences. Crazy.
Wait, in the last story why wasn’t it the daughter in law that was charged when she hit the MIL first?
Overall, I aalways say this, humans are scary. Some are so despicable you can’t comprehend the madness.
The guy who ran and got into the wreck got 425 days, his girlfriend ended up in a wheelchair for the rest of her life.
How did you find out that his girlfriend is permanently in a wheelchair? I tried looking up the case and every article mentioned that they were both injured in the crash but never specified that the girl ended up paralyzed. Are you just saying that because you can hear her say "I can't feel my leg/legs" in the video? If so, that's not exactly proof that she's paralyzed and stuck in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. She could've just been in a lot of pain or either had one leg or both legs broken, it's a little hard to tell if she said "legs" or "leg" from the audio.
Either way I really hope that's not the case and she isn't paralyzed from the waist down. Although idk why she even thought it was a good idea to get in the car with him after running out of court in the first place. The dude got off way too easy though, not only did he injure his girlfriend but almost killed an entire family as well. He definitely deserved to get hit with some felonies and serve some prison time at least.
@@gokudagoat I learned that the girlfriend was paralyzed from my cousin who was an EMT that responded to the crash and also works as a physical therapist when not on duty a an EMT. The girlfriend has very limited use of her legs and can not stand on her own.
What do these people think is going to happen when they have murdered? Like seriously? I truly believe that these people have an evil spirit inside of them. I don't believe the phony tears.
The sentence was light, but they also had already spent 3 years in prison waiting to go to trial. The time a person spends in prison before trial counts as part of the final sentence.
On the drug crime, sometimes courts will go light on a person when he or she is injecting drugs into another person when that person asked to be injected. What shocks me is that this case took place in Utah-- one of the most conservative states in American
Utah also had the highest subscription rate to porn sites
Aren't a lot of Mormons swingers?
SLC is liberal
The couple that buried the little boy.....she severely abused all of her kids for many years.
Kabir, criminals love to brag. They probably told someone , either someone or the CI, who had a conscious and told law enforcement.
That kid who ran out of court turned a few days in jail to over a year in prison. Great move. 👍
The babysitter's family probably didn't hear from her forever. That's how they got caught. I don't know if you noticed too. But the girl. They injected with drugs was only 16.
I think with Murder in general, it can happen to anyone, anywhere at anytime. Be it a stranger or someone you know.
Some of it may play a role in genetics. Some of it is environmental factors. Some is mental illness.
Much of the time, it is usually crimes of passion, greed or revenge.
Passion would be...you came home...found your spouse in bed with someone else, you went and geabbed a gun and shot them both dead.
Money...would be...knowing you are in a financially precarious position in life, so you look at your spouse and maybe even kids and kill for the life insurance money.
Revenge. This one is pretty clear.
Now, there is the sociopath. The one who kills without remorse.
There is also the classic Psychopath.
These are the ones who genetics play a huge role in.
Most though are circumstantial or because of a bad environment growing up. It isn't comforting to the victims or their families, but there are few Mansons or Dahmers in the world. The truly horrific monsters.
Our judicial system works, and doesn't at the same time. The problem is that morals have changed in our country over the years, which in turn means the people who write laws are kever on the same page with max and min sentences. Some offenses should just be cut and dry, life. But our Constitution is so open to interpretation theses days that we've lost sight of evil not being punished, mostly due to a lawmaker who can personally benefit from said legislation.
*me hearing of the second couple when their beliefs are brought up*
"Yuck. Lock em up"
*Me after hearing of what their "crime" was*
"Hold on a second there judge, shouldn't they be getting civic duty awards?"
There are sick people that are sex offenders but it's not to regular people to do harm, there is a court system
As opposed to the "not " real life Bonnie and Clyde?
The commandment does not say “Thou shalt not kill”…it says “Thou shalt not MURDER”…
What's the difference?
Actually, "murder" is a very recent translation choice.
C'mon judge, who hasn't had a 16 year old baby sitter OD during a three way in the house.
She was unconscious when she was injected with a drug overdose, it even says so in the video.
@@marydavis5234 obvious that you don't understand sarcasm
If they were just targeting sex offenders i can understand
I don't understand how these horrible people have the audacity to claim God would ever ever tell someone to kill. One of the commandments is " Thou shall not kill". They aren't sorry, just sorry they got caught. Makes my blood boil!
I don't know where all of this is taking place, at our courthouse the place is filthy with cops, deputies, sheriff deputies, baliffs.......these must be small town because the county I live in cops are in every room.
That’s what I was thinking. It had to be a small city or town where the police force is smaller. Plus he wasn’t there on a violent case so he wasn’t handcuffs or tons of cops near bye
I was thinking the same thing. I've been on jury duty many times & those courthouses have police officers everywhere! They're at the doors, by the Judge, in the lobby ... they are literally everywhere !!!
Even if you believe God has forgiven you, that doesn't mean you are entitled to a Get Out of Jail Free card. You still have to serve your sentence.
I can understand a man defending his mother.
I'm sorry but the mispronunciation of Cuyahoga in the first one got me. It's Ki yah ho gah not Ku yah ho gah.
Their are people locked up for weed to this day, and will serve more time then these murderers … god bless America
The person was on sex offender list because of some incident which they were punished but you can be put on that list if your girlfriend was underage like an 18 & 17 year old had sex
Heroine and meth ? Those do the complete opposite of each other. Of course she died 😢
Why does my state suck😢ohio
It's called "Plea Bargaining". If Prosecutors feel that there is a chance of a "Not Guilty" verdict in a Murder trial, they will agree to a guilty plea to lesser charges.
Maybe they don’t want a kid who looks different than them
Bc I have a disability that is Down syndrome
Remorseful, not at all and what hubris to believe you know what God has done. Dia and/or her husband probably bragged about it and those crocodile tears in court aren't even believable.
As soon as somebody uses God and the Bible as excuses immediately lose whatever credibility they had.
The audacity of all of these people bringing religion into it to justify their horrendous behavior (spoiler alert: they won't be forgiven) just blows my mind.
first it's thou shall not murder not thou shall not kill
"Murder" is a very recent translation choice.
@@jwb52z9 actually it's the right interpretation when they translated it into greek they made the mistake and every one just thought that killing was a one way trip but turns out war is killing and that's just fine i guess but murder and you are done
Why did they bury that kid in the backyard? So they could continue getting his disability checks.
First, the Nazi killers killed a convicted sex offender. You don't get on that list until you have been convicted. As for the drug injection killing; The young girl was also using the same drugs the killers were using voluntarily. So she was a drug addict too. I say no great loss!!!
Unfortunately, the sex offender lists are not all rapists and child molesters.
