I am old enough that I can very well remember when Ken Rex McElroy was killed so I know for a fact that this story by MrBallen is true. The residents of Skidmore reckoned that they must have the world's largest pool table because EVERYONE who was questioned about his death said they didn't see what happened to him because they were hiding under the pool table. This is one case where people finally just got tired of being harassed and intimidated by McElroy and they got tired of the fact that nothing was ever done to him because his shyster lawyer would ALWAYS get him out of whatever situation he would get himself into. Someone wrote a book about this titled, In Broad Daylight, and I read the book. They also made this into a movie and I watched the movie. Brian Dennehy played McElroy which was very strange for me because I love Dennehy but he magnificently played the part of a man that everyone hated.
What’s the name of the movie? And honestly I gotta give props to all those guys who collectively decided that enough was far too much and sent that piece of trash straight back from whence he came together. I hope the people of Skidmore are doing better now, love from your neighbors in the midwest Maryann!
Also if anyone knows what happened to Trina and her family please let me know because I wouldn’t know where to look and I felt super worried after MrBallen’s recounting of the events ended without any explanation of if Trina ever got counseling, met up with her family again, if her kids were okay, anything about whether or not she ever managed to live a healthy life after decades of abuse and torture at the hands of that degenerate scumbag
I don't know as of today but there was a law in the books in some states called 'Needed Killing'. More likely in the South and the West.
I watched a documentary about the museum robbery. Authorities question whether one or both guards were involved. There is also a very strong belief that certain members of the mob planned the robbery, divided the art and they and/or their families continue to possess it to this day.
They have a documentary about “The Bully Of Skidmore”.. I also have a book about him.. but you should watch the documentary… Love Grandma Debbie
Regarding the first story...too many people feel guilty about not taking a risk to help a stranger. If something inside you tells you it's a dangerous situation, listen to it
Yeah sorry if it makes me a dickhead but it’s a rule of thumb for me not to let ppl I don’t know inside my vehicle. Too much risk involved for my liking, even when I have a handgun (legally obviously) still just not worth the risk, they’d have to really be injured or fleeing for their life from something for me to let them in, likely would just monitor & call police in that situation as well
On the opposite side of helping people, I was homeless when I was 18 and often relied on hitchhiking to get to work. If someone offered me a ride and I got a bad feeling I wouldn't go. There was a cop who usually got off work when I did and when he found out I was homeless and hitch hiking he would give me rides to where I was staying.
To qualify as kidnapping, all someone has to do is to threaten you with harm if you try to leave a place that you can legally leave at will. This is irrespective of age or whether or not you are transported somewhere.
Kidnapping is for kids and adultnapping is for adults ;)
My first thought when Charles got away from the guy he gave a ride to & decided not to call the police was “What about the next person who encounters him? How could you be that unconcerned for the well-being of others?”
The guy is a very good story teller.....that is a lost art....AND always listen to your gut. You have been a paralegal. I'm sure all of these stories get you on a completely different level. Justice prevailing!!
My daughter, 25 yrs, who is a big fan of real mysteries podcasts, ask me how I lived through the 70s. I just laughed and said "I have no idea, the general public did not know all of this was going on!! It wasn't like we had 24/7 news!!"
When the town finally fought back, I cheered and yelled FINALLY!!
I was in HS when he got shot and we lived about 80 miles south but even we knew about him.
I have called a taxi for someone before & given them enough for the taxi to where he wanted to go. He was leaving the county jail, young & needed to get to his Aunt's. I wasn't sure if he was really telling the truth. He had used my phone to call his Aunt & she didn't answer. The next morning I got a call from the Aunt thanking me. I was thinking maybe I was an idiot for helping him so the call made me very happy
Thanks for being a good person, life can be pretty tough, especially someone who’s down on their luck, fresh out of jail, no phone or $. Even if you judged them or didn’t you helped either way. I’m only 22 & about to graduate college & still am figuring out how to navigate life
I had a scary thing happen to me yesterday. I have been trying to sell my old car for about a month. Finally I had someone who wanted to buy my car even without a test drive. He seemed a bit too eager. The night before last I googled this guy I was suppose to meet up with the next day as soon as I got out of work. The first several links that came in my search listed a young person by the same name was convicted of murder in the city 2 years ago. The guy who showed up turned out to be pretty cool and likely just has the same name or maybe is a relative and has the murderer's phone (judging by the name that shows up on caller id) as he introduced himself by a different name. I did have the foresight to have my brother there for the transaction, just to be safe.
Crazy!
Pepper spray at the very least $12 on Amazon, a good pocket knife & really if it’s legal where you are I can’t recommend handguns enough to women as long as you get proper training, do it legally & go to the range & practice with it. A lot of work & kind of expensive but how much do you value your life. Enough to get your brother to go with you & research the guy before meeting him, smart moves, just friendly advice, martial arts training maybe if you don’t like guns
I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, so yeah good advice. I considered bringing my nunchakus.
@@laurataylor8717 all that is nonsense when a Glock 19 comes into hand lol
Where would the thieves even sell a painting worth $500 million? Crazy!
[Pawn Stars guy] I can offer you $750.00. Best offer.
There’s a movie “in Broad Daylight “ about Ken McElroy
Gut instinct is a real thing. You should always listen to it. Also, the second amendment grants citizens the right to form a militia to defend against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. Rex was an enemy of the state.
Love Mr. Ball-in ❤️ strange, dark & mysterious, delivered in story format 💞
Hey Kabir ... When you visit the states this comming year vist us in Louisville Ky so you can try our favorite chicken spot locally . It's called Indi's and all of the food there slaps !!! But especially the chicken ! The epitome of soul food and you can only get it in Kentucky . Most locations are in Louisville with a few just outside of the Louisville area .
I heard Rex's story before. The townsfolk finally killed him.
You should also watch Slapped Ham !! Love Grandma Debbie
I'm really surprised you never heard about what happened in skidmore!! There are so CZcams videos on it, even one with the wife being interviewed, that whole town stuck together!!
This guy has the best videos!! Greetings from the Yosemite area of California!!! It’s been really raining here.. we need it!! Love Grandma Debbie
There is a movie on the Skidmore psycho bully. It’s called No One Saw A Thing. It was made in 1991.
I love these videos Kabir! Please keep them coming!
There is a documentary on this second story in this video
What that guy said in the second story is the exact same thing I'd say about Pootin. I think you know what line it is.
Did you know that Mr. Ballon uses his profits from his CZcams channel to fund a charity that helps directly victims of violence & their families? A wonderful reason to indulge in listening to these creepy, true stories.
First story, that guys getting pepper sprayed or potentially shot, being chased at night by someone who has threatened my life & has a screwdriver, most likely shot center mass
Skidmore story is real and it does seem impossible for it to have happened. I’m with you, why didn’t someone take him out sooner? Seems awful that he got out of prison like he did but it’s happening all too much in the states. Lots of liberal DA’s aren’t charging criminals with crime or criminals are being let out of jail with no bail laws. It’s going to lead to vigilante justice I think. Hitchhiker story is awful. You just don’t know if someone is really nice or not. And the last story….damn. Never been caught. Great reaction Kabir! Have a Happy New Year!
Ball-In Kabir! Ball-In. It’s been months. Time to say his name properly now
If I was Charles I would have turned my car around and chased him down. Come after Me and fail, that will be you're worst mistake of your life.
You mean, you're a fan of the strange, dark and mysterious delivered in story format?
😁😁😁why... yes!✌️😎♥️
I have hers about the 2nd story, but not the first or third.
Happy New Year 🎉Kabir 😊
When Kabir seriously asks "Is it kidnapping if it's an adult?"............
That first story was on forensic files and i remember the cops not believing him but i mean that story seems impossible but I guess nothing is impossible.
The 2nd story was like the new Halloween movies :)
Happy new year
Happy New Year, Kabir! I'm with pandora502 down in the comments, cmon over to Kentucky if you visit the U.S. If nothing else, we'll feed ya!
Mr Ballen is awesome. His podcast is great too. He’s just a great storyteller!
The bully one sounded like Deebo form Friday lmaoo.
This is why stories about superheroes like Batman exist, everyone wants to see vengeance served.
You should check out a CZcams channel " Anna uncovered " ,with a recent article about a 16 year old girl burned to a crisp by her mother.
my mother still picks up hitchhikers she’s 78
Great podcast and documentary on the bully…
The first story would have ended with a dead hitchhiker and a hoodie being thrown away because that is where my 45 lives in a nice hidden place but would now have holes in it. This dude would have got a check mate smile before he got what he requested and went through the express line to meet his maker. Either avoid helping strangers kids or be prepared to deal with the one that wants to hurt you with what they deserve. DTA. The Skidmore guy should have caught a bullet much much earlier.
The truck driver, Charles, should have called the police asap, if not for himself, then to protect potential future victims. But we all sonetimes make stupid decisions. What a horrible price he and his mom paid. The 3rd story is definitely believable. The 2nd story, not so much. What parents sign over their extremely young daughter in marriage to a town bully? I was glad to hear the citizens finally fought back and am glad the bully is dead. But, seriously, if why didn't someone shoot him the first time he threatened them? It just encouraged him to get worse. That story is literally unbelievable.
Ive heard this is loosely the basis for the movie "roadhouse"
Love watching you react to mr ballen. I watch his stories to help me me sleep .
woah that skidmore story is the one from creepiest towns from world according to briggs. the guy was killed but it still haunts the town to this day.
Dta don't trust anybody.... Best way to stay alive
If you like these kinds of stories, Kabir, you might like the “Fascinating Horror” channel. There’s tons of short, really well made documentaries about these kinds of stories. Each episode is a concise but detailed and well researched description of what happened, who was affected, why/how it happened, and the lasting effects of the events both bad and good. Fair warning though, they’re true stories of tragic events. But there are also often stories of heroism, incredible good luck, and human resiliency within the stories too.
You should look up the story about Ken Rex McElroy. They have documentaries on him and there was a movie made about it called Without Mercy. Very interesting story.
I’ve heard of that bully guy before
They knew exactly what to steal.
I'm shamelessly using this comment section to wish you a Happy New Year!!! 🥳🎉
- Yank on Oahu **who still has over 4 hrs of drinking to do before 2023 officially begins**
This is why I always say if you have the shot take it even if it’s below the belt.
As for the Bully, If he tried that with me I would have shot him from the start. I am with you on how nobody did anything. As for the guard that let the "police" in, If he was not part of it he should be held responsible for everything that was stolen because he did not follow procedures. They are there for a good reason.
Hey Brit guy! Watch Earl Weaver and Bill Haller argument. You’ll laugh your ass off. Legendary baseball argument. Funny as hell a little over 3 minutes long. Just do it.
'i dont get why no one has challenged this guy'
idk man i dont think i could confront a man like that who constantly has a gun and has used it before, and seems to have money and politicians in his pocket.
He calls them the strange, dark, and mysterious and his mom seeks them out. Or she did, I don’t know if she still does.
I live in the woods of Virginia and I own 13 guns. I f-ing DARE somebody to follow me home with ill intent.
These Mr ballen videos are dope.keep em comin 👍
He must be related to a cop or judge or something.
I would have had to take Rex out
Happy New Year Peeps!!✌️😎♥️
They left out at of details in the first story. Originally the cops did not believe the son and thought he had killed Dorothy. He was actually arrested and I think convicted of her murder. It was not until several years later, when the real killer was arrested for something else that he admitted he killed Dorothy.
No big guy challenged him because he was homicidal.
sorry to many stops on the first do I cant finish this
Can't be true
You going to have stand guard at my bedroom 😉 I'm a frighty cat
Are you flirting with Kabir?
Rex is like Trump....who holds America hostage because people are too afraid to speak up.
I hate to victim blame, but... what the fuck, Charles? This crazy guy was near your home, which is RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR MOTHER'S, and you don't think to pick her up or even check on her!? You just LEAVE? For an hour? He could have easily prevented her death. What a massive screw-up (no pun intended.)
