    Hey Leo - enjoy your channel. As I play guitar as well as WX5 wind controller, I'm definitely interested in your experiments combining guitar with a breath controller. I often use the MIDI Solutions Event Processor to do some creative or necessary mapping. I was wondering that if you disabled velocity from the fishman MIDI and added velocity with breath to your breath controller, if this wouldn't enable the legato triggering? Think about it if you would - I'd really like it to work because I think the fishman could be a great addition to my toolset. Cheers!

      Hi Gary, thank you for your message! I will try to follow your suggestion, even thought the problem with the triple play and all the other controllers that rely on string vibration is that when you perform legato the vibration of the string is too low to be captured by the midi pick up (in my opinion). That's why the YouRock guitar is better in this area, because it does not rely on string vibration. In any case I will try your suggestion! thank you!...I'm really happy that you find these videos interesting ... I've spent a lot of time and research to find a solution to properly imitate wind instrument and I have to say that the couple YouRock guitar plus Tectroller is the best think I've experienced!

    Hi Leo, I just bought a TriplePlay Connect and put on my Stratocaster. Sometimes random notes are added along the ones I really play. Is there any special setting for the TriplePlay Connect to work properly?
    Is it due to the height of the strings to the pickup?
    Is it due to the guitar tuning?

    This is beautiful! I'm so close to getting a FTP (probably the Connect version which uses USB instead of WiFi), but I'm very curious: is FTP really more accurate than the Midi Guitar 2 app? A lot of people say that this app is nearly as accurate as the FTP, but I assume they only tried the app on an electric guitar, and that it wouldn't compare as well on an acoustic. Could you please give it a try and compare it? The app is free (in demo mode which would be enough to compare). Thank you.

As regards the wireless system the answer is yes: fisherman provides a solution with wireless connectivity. It is a little bit pricer but it works well.

    • @LeoGibsonGtr
      @LeoGibsonGtr  Před 4 lety

      Hi, the problem in connecting the breath controller to an iPad or the rig stomp, is that in these devices you are not able to run the TEControl app, with which you can map the midi messages of the breath controller to the one of the device you want to control. Nevertheless in order to connect the breath controller to the iRig you need a converter from USB to MIDI, while for the iPad you can use the camera connector and an USB hub...in any case, without the TEControl software running in the host device...
      If you want more details about the TEControl software, you can checkout this vide: czcams.com/video/zGjozM5qCdE/video.html

      @@joshuamuheim8900 TriplePlay wireless can work with an iPhone to control synths, Garage Band, etc., but no way to edit settings on the iPhone. The iOS app that Fishman has developed only runs on iPad. There is also Fishman provided software for Mac and Windows which you can use to configure so-called "Hardware Patches" which you can then use with anything that supports MIDI over USB (iPhone, Android, Linux, Mac, Win, etc.) For iPhone, you can directly plug in TriplePlay Connect (wired), but for TriplePlay wireless you will need an Apple "Lightning to USB" adaptor.

    • @mrjteele
      @mrjteele Před 3 lety

      @@joshuamuheim8900 Yes, you can use the Mac or Windows TriplePlay software to edit the MIDI settings for one or more of the Hardware Patches, which are saved to the TriplePlay controller, then you hold down the Up button (the button closest to the pickup wire) when connecting to your iPhone, and then the TP controller will be in Hardware Mode on Hardware Patch #1, and you can use the Up and Down buttons to go between the Hardware Patches. For most iPhone synths you don't even need to do any of that; you can simply plug in and start playing in "Basic Mode". (With the wireless controller, one would need an Apple Lightning to USB adapter to connect to iOS devices). When in Basic Mode press both buttons at the same time to enable or disable pitch bend messages; they are disabled by default. I'm sure that you will have more questions, and a great information resource is the TriplePlay section of the VGuitar forums: www.vguitarforums.com

    The problem with most MIDI controller reviews is that latency and tracking are subjectively evaluated with words such as "It tracks pretty well". For me that is not enough to spend money. I go for zero latency (which I haven't seen yet) or not. There is an easy way to test it: record a fast solo accompanied by an independend metronome. Analyse the audio waves in a software such as Audacity.
