These people just wanted to give the pigs some water and take photos and more than likely try to further their cause but they did it in a respectful way. The fact that the trucker stops the truck to let them do this and let them feel better about themselves or their cause while it's probably the higher ups at Farmer John that told them to do it.

However, this does show that there are ones out there who actually just care about the animals, and don't want any pats on the back or everyone else to think they're right. I'm sure as hell not giving up meat, but it does make me respect those who do want to ensure the pigs be as comfortable as possible before they get slaughtered.

Honestly I've been to about 15 protests in the past year and this seems like most of them I've been to. The worst is when there are rioters and looters around and there were cops shooting teargas and rubbers at the people like this and letting the looting happen. But they need job security so why wouldn't they.

This should serve to demonstrate that militant veganism is more of a deterrent than anything. When your mission is compassion-based and your methods are not, you lose respect.

Be considerate. These people understand that meat is part of society, and they canât just change that overnight.
They understand that no matter how hard they try, there will still always be SOMEONE who loves meat as much they despise it

Since it's subjectively imposed, any animal, including humans, can be seen as companion or food or anything else, depending on the person perceiving the animal. We do not need their meat to survive or to thrive and be healthy, so what is the point of breeding and killing billions of animals for something as unnecessary (and harmful) as meat consumption?

Honestly, the fact that vegans get a bad rap is depressing, because their logic is really sound. I've been thinking about going vegan ever since I heard this take, because obviously animal cruelty is wrong.
