🤘Hey Friends! I have decided to put my list in the comments since your support was so overwhelming the last time I did it. For those unaware the reason I don’t usually do this because it stops people from watching the whole video, and so it hurts my video in the algorithm…
👽So if you do enjoy me leaving the lists for you in the comments make sure to help the video by watching all the way through, commenting if you feel like it, and giving it a thumbs up! All that stuff really does help and it will also mean lists will be in the comments in the future!🤘🤘🤘

hey EMMA i know you already but it's my favorite factoid about wolf creek. The original plot line was meant to be a bus load of tourists running into mick posing as their tour guide(what's more disarming than a knowledgable friendly tour guide with CHAAAArm. This plot line was later recycled for season 2 of wolf creek the series. also mr. Mclain fleshed out Micks backstory (with John Jarrats help because he outlined one while preparing to portray the character) in two novels subtitled Origin and the second subtitled Desolation game.. fun fact about me: wolf creek was the first franchise 15 year old me had scene where a realistic killer gets away with it. Again, again, and again .As a man who has lived all my life with left hemiplegia due to Cerebral palsy (it's mild now but it will never will go away) the "head on a stick" scene hits way different for me.
Just to shout out some other fully decent Aussie horror/thrillers - Horseman. Storm Warning. 100 Bloody Acres. Relic... loving the inclusion of Wake In Fright, Hounds of Love and Snowtown here. Incredible films.
yeih the list is back, thank u Emms
Just watched dead end drive in fun movie 🦈
Love your content 💞
Have been enjoying your videos ever since running across you on r/horror
I've seen about half of the list - The Loved Ones really stayed with me.
The drill in the brain bit with kettle water 😬
Real talk: I just watched Moulin Rouge and I don't think I'll ever be able to watch it again. I love Ewan Mcgregor. The man has the voice of an angel. But the ending had me in tears. It was heartbreaking
The Loved Ones was such a good movie!!
I love Australian horror (Update: I added every one I hadn’t seen to my list)
omg the nightingale was SO GOOD! my friend had to step away from that scene.
Who else likes Emma's videos before they've even started? Hehe.
Adding The Tunnel and Picnic at Hanging Rock to my list.
❤️❤️
Absolutely always Meghan!
Guilty but in my defense, #spookyastronauts knows what effect her material has on us lol😜😈🤟🏽🤟🏽
Both excellent choices 👍
I absolutely ADORE Wolf Creek, the sequel and the tv series. Mick Taylor is truly terrifying
I'm not usually a disturbing films viewer. But The Loved Ones is SO GOOD, and I didn't even know it was Aussie! I think the fact that Lola is deliciously over the top to almost the point of splatter type violence (the scenes at her house especially 👑) without quite stepping over that boundary is why I like it! 💖 great list Emma!
How did I miss this video??!?1? I’ve actually seen 7 of these! For such nice people, you Aussies make the most BRUTAL films 😵💫. That was fair dinkum a noice list of lesser-knowns for us bogans, cobber. Cheers! 🇦🇺
Dead Calm holds a place on my heart. I remember watching this late at night when I was about 10. Nostalgia
So glad The Nightingale and Lake Mungo are here! But there is one very underrated movie that's missing. Triangle is an Australian and UK production that more people should know about. :)
Yeah, 'Triangle' was well worth a watch I thought. Then again, it has Melissa George in it and she's mmmm mmmmmm! :D
Love that movie!
“Wolf Creek” and its sequel are very brutal and entertaining. “The Babadook” is definitely the creepiest ghost story that everyone has ever seen. As always, great list, Emma!
Billy Zane, the survivor of a ship wreck lmao
yea he was on board of this little ship, it was called the Titanic, you might've heard of it
Hahaha
See I just can't see Billy Zane as anything as the scene chewing bald guy from demon knight. And I hope that never changes
@@leviroch Yes! There are moments when I get pissed off and Billy Zane starts chiming in my head with "godown, podunk, well them there mother*******".
(also, australians make some forked up movies!)
@@rosiealma4276 thats utterly adorable, and although i can never remember the words (which admittedly drives me insane, especially compared to the ridiculous shit i DO remember for no reason, 'bah weep graaaaagnah wheep ni ni bong' for instance. . . ), ive seen that scene so many times the 'energy' of the scene always carries through in my mind. . .
just that beautiful moment of confidence punctuated only by a crescendo of pure irritation. . . if that doesnt describe certain moments of my almost 30 year old arse dealing with customers on a day to day basis. . .
i relate to the man in that scene, tis all im saying :D
Lake mungo is one of those movies that just sticks with you
The cell phone video in Lake Mungo is one of the most haunting and chilling scenes I've seen in a horror movie in years.
The Nightingale didn't feel like a movie. It felt like I was looking back in time at the worst humanity has to offer.
Long Weekend is such a masterpiece! Also, I love cheesy low budget film Road Kill (or Road Train) - really underrated
Fantastic vid! Took me like 45 min to watch (pause. Amazon wishlist. Play. Pause. Amazon wishlist)
One of my favorites is another Peter Wier thriller called _The Last Wave._ It's a slow burn, with no jump scares, but the atmosphere of dread is thick enough to slice. One bizarre flaw: American actor Richard Chamberlain plays an Aussie. I'm an American, myself, but even to me, his accent sounded dodgy as hell. I first saw it when I was kid and it has stayed with me ever since.
I almost expected this on the list, and Nicolas Roeg's _Walkabout,_ not really horror but so uncanny and disorienting.
Hey Emma, thanks for adding some more movies to my watchlist and also reminding me of a few classics. Stay safe and stay spooky
Can I just say that Snowtown is quite possibly one of the most stunningly made movies I’ve ever seen! And the soundtrack is equally as stunning! The Kurzel brothers did a great job : )
Glad to see that Killing Ground was on the list. It's quite a merciless film. Saw it at a festival in 2017 and before the screening the announcer said we were in for "the most unnerving and miserable event of the weekend." She wasn't lying!
A great movie that’s in the same class as that one is called “land mine goes click” I highly recommend this one
Nice! Thanks for the list! Good to know I've watched alot of these already but enough to add to my list!
If there's no Lake Mungo i swear I'm gonna end myself
thinking the same .😳
That movie is amazing
that movie broke me
I love australian horror! added some to my watchlist and had already watched some others. Great video!
btw, I love your accent haha
I love that you included some Aussie classics like Long weekend, Patrick, Wake in fright and Razorback.
Thanks for another great selection. I binged both series of Wolf Creek during lock down, and really enjoyed those too.
Cargo!! Was waiting the whole video for that one lol love to see it get some recognition
As always, such great recommendations!
Omg! You literally just gave me a movie title I have been trying to think of for days! I rewatched Eden Lake a few days ago and it made me think of a similar-ish movie where there was a couple camping on the beach and for the life of me could not remember the name...then I watch this and was like HOT DAMN Emma to the rescue! Lol.
Anyways, great list!
I love this video and I love Australian Horror. So many gems on this list. Thank you both for this video.
Thanks for watching !!
You are so freaking awesome! Literally my favorite CZcamsr 💕💯
"These Final Hours"? Underrated, in my opinion.
Although a horror fan and love your channel I have to mention the non-horror Romper Stompper for an Australian movie. Thanks for all the indepth content you share!
Awesome video love your channel and work keep up the great work and I'll keep watching, ☠️💀☠️
I love Razorback ,one of my favorites when i was a kid and I still love it,great video btw !!
You are amazing at writing summaries.
I remember razorback as a child and I live in america. I don't remember too much but the parts with the pig scared the crap out of me.
Thanks for sharing movies from your culture!
Hi Emma and thank you for your videos and tips! I love them! You've helped me add many, many films that I´ve never heard of to my to watch-list.
// Horror fan from Sweden.
Thanks for watching Lina!
I’ve only seen 6! The rest have been added to my watchlist. Long Weekend looks like a blast!
I’m so happy Wyrmwood cut the list as it’s def my top 10 zombie movies I terms of how fun and bizarre it gets!
Yes, I agree that Nicole Kidman is Australian! Excellent list there Emma and good work as well Cordy.
I laughed so hard at the Nicole Kidman thing.
Of course she is Australian! And...your mother I guess? Sure!
"Wake In Fright" is one of my favorite movies ever, and definitely my favorite Australian movie. I am also strangely fond of "Death In Brunswick" & "Welcome To Woop Woop," but that's another story...
So many great picks on here! I genuinely want to watch The Loved Ones so badly but I'm scared :') It is true you guys have some messed up films! Hounds of Love and The Nightingale were EXPERIENCES to say the least... also oh god I did not need to be reminded of the emotional trauma that was Cargo :'(
Yeah we love the dark stuff
Was so glad you requested i watch The Tunnel, it was a found footage i really enjoyed
a lot of these are already on my watchlist
There are so many great choices here, the Loved ones is my absolute favourite though, it’s such a great movie. I’ve seen it so many times. Thanks for the recommendations Emma!
'Cut' (2000) needs more love and mention. Not particularly a scary slasher, but quite a funny screenplay and some inventive kills.
'Wake in Fright' is amazing.
Lake Mungo was one of the few films that made me very tense and very scared!
I absolutely loved this list! I was shocked by how many of these I've seen, and have notated a few that I NEED to see (forgot all about the Wolf Creek tv show!). I saw The Nightingale in an arthouse theatre, and I swear it was one of the most uncomfortable experiences ever! (just an incredible, but brutal film). Thanks for the video!
'oi, Wake in Fright, one a the best of the best. I think some people go to film festivals so they can get up an walk out.
I've seen most of them. You are absolutely right. You Australian like a dark movie :))) I love your channel ❤ hello from UK
I love that some of my all time favorite movies are on this list.
Police rescue. I still remember the episode when a guy was stuck under a fallen building and they could not get him out. Scary real life horror.
You look so pretty. My favourite is wolf creek 2. It's full of tense moments and the ending is quite different and entertaining.
Yes, Rogue was great. I love bad crocodile horror, it delights me. This was a fantastic list, thank you for the suggestions!
Great list!!🥳👍🏽 I saw the remake of Patrick..gotta check out the original & I lovd Razorback 🤗👻
Great video, some good films there. I need to check out wake in fright.
I would also recommend Relic (2020), Black Water (2007), and The Reef (2010)
Good selections! There’s always room for a part 2 ;)
@@spookyastronauts yes plz hahaha
Love your passion for horror, and your not bad looking ether and very knowledgeable your perfect! Thank you for being perfect!👍🏾
I'm a big fan of The Loved Ones and Wolf Creek 2...Also another fun movie from Australia 100 Bloody Acres is an Australian horror comedy...so good!
Yeah it does alright for sure!
someone else mentioned it already but I liked to echo how good The Last Wave is. Also overlooked is a recent independent film called Boys in the Trees
My two favorite youtubers doing another collab - loved your list, was only missing Lieutenant Jangles ;)
'The Interview' is excellent, well worth checking out. Great performance by Hugo Weaving.
Picnic at hanging rock blew me away
I saw Picnic at Hanging Rock as a young kid and was terrified of that movie. I just learned that a young John Jarratt aka Mick Taylor (Glad to meet ya!) is in it!
Wow some good sounding movies I need to check out. I have never heard of "Dead Calm" and I am a huge Billy Zane fan! Can't wait to check that out now! Thanks guys, my list just got a little bigger!!
Australian thrillers are usually so gritty and raw compared to the Hollywood stuff we see, where every shot looks like a designer video. I thought Wolf Creek was an amazing thriller, But Snowtown takes the cake!!! Although for non ozzies, like myself, you’ll need subtitles to be able to understand a word they’re mumbling!
All I will say is that was EPIC and well played Spooky Astronauts. Until next time ha ha ha!
😂😂😂😂
great suggestions!!
Really shocked that I didn’t see “these final hours” on this list, that films a right gem!
Liked the film but again just wanted to include 20 otherwise I’ll be here all day haha
@@spookyastronauts Fair play haha 😊
Saw, Wolf Creek and The Babadook are my favorites from this list
These Final Hours? Even though These Final Hours isn't necessarily "horror" it still leaves me with a sense of sadness and despair.
I disagree
it was on Shudder so I'm calling it horror! loved it
Yeah great movie! It’s always nice when people add to the suggestions at the end
I love The Loved Ones and Babadook! Great picks!
Kidman is my favorite american ever. Also I rember your virtual tour of Snowtown
Haha stop Ben
😂 🤣
There are 4 there I haven't seen. They will be forthwith added to my list (Razorback, Patrick, picnic at hanging rock and Snowtown)
We call proms 'formals' here in Ireland too.
Delighted to see The Nightingale on your list. That's one that really touched me. It had me in tears and enraged. It's a beautiful movie but very upsetting.
Saw is one of my all-time favourites.
Good on ya Em. I hadn't quite realized how many great Ozzie horror films there have been. And the one I haven't seen that calls out is Long Weekend. Picnic at Hanging rock is in my pantheon.
And I did see Razorback in a New York City theatre in the 1980s, after finding the soundtrack album.
Great video! So much to catch up on. Just wondering if you’ve seen the movie “Undead”. Such a campy horror but I love it!
thanks for the vid! Can you do a list of black and white horror movies? and maybe a second vid with some others not so known b/w horror movies? Greetings from Argentina!
As a kid I watched Fortress. I was 11 years old then. It is a forgotten gem.
Australian Movies are the BEST HANDS DOWN!!! We need more more more! Absolutely love the Horror.
"Wake in Fright" has to be one of the greatest Mind Fk movies ever!!! Lake Mungo, IFYKYK!!!!!
Just in time to make my brother in law watch horror movies for his visit this weekend 🤷🏼♀️ I needed some new recommendation 🙌
Hell yeah’
Where's the love for The Reef? I think it's the best shark horror movie since Jaws... I also thought Picnic at hanging rock was based on a real story, I even had a book of the supernatural making the case for a true crime mistery. My man' Cecil made a video on Razerback recently, it looks amazing!!! Great list and collaboration, Emma & CorderyFX!! Thanx!!!
Also, Spookyastronauts leaves me always too much homework to catch up with horror movies!!! Also, also, Black water (2007) is way better then Rogue, much more realistic!!
Also, also, also, I love Lake Mungo, favorite aussie horror film!!!
All these films are awesome
Will be seeing & revisiting these, was fortunate to have seen just a few when younger. Looking forward to, in particular Killing Ground. Which seems like it has Eden Lake vibes🤟🏽🤟🏽✅
What, no FORTRESS from 1985? Great list, have to check out some of those!
While I understand how The Loved Ones barely got an MA rating, I'm still surprised Snowtown got the same; that should have been R. Love both movies, though.
And I actually prefer the second Wolf Creek, not just for entertainment but mainly for the characters themselves.
Great list, you guys!
I auditioned for the lead role of Snowtown haha my mate got it instead. They approached us randomly at the elizabeth shopping centre in the food court
Great list. Ive watched 10 of 20. I think Razorback is a hidden gem. I learned about it after watching Highlander and went looking for other available movies made by Russel Mulcahy. The only one I found was Razorback in a VHS rental store. I thought it was real fun.
Ooo I'll have to check these out. I really liked dead calm. I'm in the Us so I hope I can find some of these movies listed here. I didn't know that Saw was an Australian movie. cool! I walk to see the loved ones so maybe I'll try to find it tonight or tomorrow.
I would argue that Bad Boy Bubby is actually the Australian Forrest Gump... and then run away when people try to counter argue me.
😂😂😂
you should having included New Zealand movies too because BAD taste and Braindead are absolute top tier classics!!!! "I'm a Derek Derek's don't run!"
You know we are completely different countries? That’s like saying let’s include African films in a USA list. Totally agree they are great at making horrors, they are my fav. But I have a separate video on them
I commented about The Loved Ones way too soon into the video so I feel like I need to comment again about Killing Ground! Oh my goodness the baby scene and the NOISE! It's something that has never left my head since I watched it a couple of years back! I had to watch and read Picnic At Hanging Rock for University and I got sucked into it too, it's so creepy!
uhhhh just watched bad boy bubby and i wasn’t expecting it to be honestly the most disturbing movie i’ve ever seen LOL
No love for Chocolate Strawberry Vanilla? 😢 nice list!
The stranger is another banger that has come out of the aus
Love the thumbnail 🐨
I loved the loved ones and the babadook🙌🏾
