    Retro emulation on Wii is great if you want to game on a CRT without having to collect a physical library. This would work great for SNES, Genesis, NES and GBA emulation on Wii!

  • @lyianx
    @lyianx Před 9 měsíci +10

    Not bad for a first run, but it could be improved.
    1. Not sure why they attached the chip to a small PCB instead of the main one? Seems like a needlessly added step and part.
    2. The cable could be improved if they use JST connectors (eliminating the need to solder the cable directly)
    3. I feel like it should come with the shoulder PCB's as well (this would allow it to be easily reversible back to SNES)

    • @KermenTheFrog
      @KermenTheFrog Před 9 měsíci +3

      Main reason for seperate chip is that it's sold by its self normally for DIY handhelds like Wii portables

  • @b3nner
    @b3nner Před 2 měsíci

    I purchased this and installed it and after some testing I came out a bit disappointed with this product for 2 reasons.
    #1- The size of the pcb on the SUPER GC+ MODKIT is a bit thicker than the OEM snes pcb, this in turn makes the dpad membrane push down on the plastic dpad which in turn gives the dpad an awful stiffness. The only solution I found to alleviate this was to unloosen the screws on the controller to alleviate the pressure.
    #2- I'm not sure if it's the way the input contacts on this pcb are designed, but I am getting a lot of missed inputs on all face buttons, especially during light button taps and mashing. I tried various OEM membranes and kept on getting the same result. This ended up being the dealbreaker for me.
    It's for this reason that I recommend getting yourself a raph-net adapter which allows you to keep your snes controller intact without opening it up and doing any internal changes.

    This is neat, but it maps the controls 1:1. that menas you're going to be playing GameBoy Player games with the SNES B and A buttons instead of the more natural comfortable Y and B buttons. I would buy one of these if they made a varient that had slightly different mapping of Gamecube B to SNES Y and Gamecube A to SNES B.
    Instead, you should seek ta non-destructive adapter from Retrzone called the Wii SNES RetroPort. This has a female SNES socket to allow you to simply plug in any SNES or Super Famicom controller or even arcade stick and use it on the Gamecube or Wii. The only advantage this kit has is the rumble, which is a very minor thing.

    I do not like the idea of using a SNES controller for Game Boy games. The face buttons are angled in a way that makes Y and B feel more comfortable as a default position rather than A and B. This is also why I hated the NES dog-bone controller.

      @aaaaa-kf5lc for what? You are better off getting a third-party gamecube controller like MadCat than this. Why would you downgrade yourself with limitations imput?
      On PC/Dolphin, you can use other controllers like PS4 and Xbox to solve this problem.

    Stupid mod, they have GameCube to SNES adapters & you don’t lose any functionality. Zero point to do this mod.
