Disneyland the Park (1957)

An excerpt from the Disneyland T.V. show where Walt Disney shows us around the park as it looked in April 1957. Walt had always maintained a strong television relationship with the American audience. Directly educating the public on the idea of Disneyland was one of the ways Walt connected with the public. The following segment of "Pecos Bill" is edited out and available on Disney+ in the film, "Melody Time".

This is from the year I was born. Wow. I remember watching some of these later, but still as a child. It was still popular in the 60s on television. Sigh. :-)

Because of this video I finally got to see clean footage of the Mine train thru nature's wonderland caverns which I have been trying to find for so long. Damn, the scenes with the “Indians” are SO uncomfortable! Did they do any real research, or just copy Buffalo Bill? Did they hire actual indigenous folks, or just tan Italian Americans?
