Kurt Russell and the Osmonds riding through Disneyland and singing a Creedence song. It doesn’t get much better than that.

I had the biggest crush on Kurt Russell when I was a little girl. First crush, I think. Then Batman (Adam West) 😂
Kurt Russell, the Osmonds and Disneyland … I’m in heaven. LOL!
@@derekllewellyn6663 : Wow. That non-stop sentence was almost in English.
I was seven in 1970 and this music along with the anticipation of Wonderful World of Disney on NBC every Sunday at dinner time are a magical part of my childhood. It sucks to be 60 lol.
Sucks? No it doesn’t-you got to see World of Disney when it was fresh and new. And by the way, I was two in 1970. I remember World of Disney too, ha ha 🙂
This comment makes me a bit sad lol
But no matter what these images and sounds will always bring joy to us no matter what age we are.
@@KelleyM462I was 70 then
@@oliviajohnjohnolivia8142 ??? you were 70 in 1970??
what sucks worse is seeing what it's become.
Our family was at Disneyland that day because we have pictures of the Osmonds wearing those brown sweaters looking down from the 2nd level of a double decker bus.
"Marchant2" Wow. It may have historic significance. Maybe post them on Facebook or something like that.
I'd love to see those!!!
Wow. What an awesome memory in pictures!
I'd REALLY love to see those!!
In late 60s I remember my parents & brothers would watch Disney on sun evening at 6. We would have popcorn and apples, while watching it, because every sunday after church my mom would make a HUGE meal. Wonderful memories!
Very poignant memory, thanks for sharing. Being born in Los Angeles in the 90s, I never got to experience the Disneyland of the late 60s and early 70s, but I know enough to figure that it was a golden age for the park.
Wow, we used to do the SAME thing! Loved watching Disney on Sundays, the only problem was the next day was MONDAY and we had to go back to school, lol. Thank you for reminding me of a wonderful childhood memory!
I was there watching Disney on Sunday nights too. Can't remember if it came on before or after Mutual of Omaha's wild kingdom. Life was much more wholesome back then.
@@michaelthomas366 Wasn't it just?
Same with me at my grandparents,....except it was at 7pm on the East Coast....we didn't have color TV though and I didn't understand why the narrator kept talking about 'color, color, color'...Remember the Ed Sullivan Show too....
What is really scary is that this was filmed over fifty years ago! In two days time Donny will be 64 years old!
And he is still going strong!
Kurt Russell was so gorgeous. He really was the All-American boy
Really
My first, and longest standing crush to this day!
What do you mean "was"? Lol... Kurt Russell is still pretty damn gorgeous in my book... ❤
Oh, if I was a teen and he was the boy next door .... wow
@@eduardo_corrochio indeed 👌👍
I loved when Disney did this and had the vault/classic episodes usually late at night. I remember that intro circa 2000ish. Was disappointed when they dumped showing these classics. Some of this can be found on Disney+ these days, but not everything.
Well at least we can watch it on CZcams.😁
@Sebastian Vlogs And Fanmade And Gaming That is modern. A lot of the old making-of docs from this era (1955-1970's) are still not on Disney+, nor are a lot of Annette Funicello's movies, several episodes of the _Mickey Mouse Club_ (all versions) excluding the pilot week of the 1955 original & the "camping"' special featuring the 1970's cast (including _Facts of Life_ [as Blair Warner] alum, _Survivor_ celebrity contestant, _Jeff Probst Show_ recurring guest star & Lifetime movie regular Lisa Whelchel during her awkwardly adorable tween years) "roughing it" at Fort Wilderness (as well as the long-since defunct River Country section of Walt Disney World), the episodes of _Zorro_ starring Guy Williams as El Zorro/Don Diego De La Vega, _Welcome to Pooh Corner_ & its sister show _Dumbo's Circus_ and the Jane Fonda for-kids that was _Mousekercise_ aired in the mornings during The Disney Channel's premium years (During that time, the only "commercials" were theme park plugs, pledge drives aimed at non-subscribers, promos for other shows airing on the station...Before Disney Channel went full-on commercial with the nationwide advent of cable TV), 1980's special "Totally Minnie", the ZOOG era X Games spoof series _Z Games_ based on games invented by kids, _PB&J Otter_ created by Jim Jenkins, etc.
Back when Disney was DISNEY!
Sooooooooooo true 💕❤️ not the corporate negative multi park over kill that it is today loved growing up in the 70s on Disney 😀 oh well let’s enjoy 😉 it with what we can moving forward 😃😆n 2021
The Wonderful World of Disney episodes featuring the park were the best.
Yes, the spirit of Disney lasted a decade or so after his death, but was gone by the mid-1980s. Now they’re the owners of Marvel and Star Wars with Mickey and co as a side interest.

Man I miss the 70's.
Me too!!!!
We all do
This is the Disneyland I remember. My family went about once a month in the early 70’s. I got to skip school so we could go during the week when it was less crowded. It really was magical back then. I remember when America Sings opened too. Those songs are still stuck in my head. Remember The Old Gray Nag?
Lucky!
I remember this when it first aired. EJ peaker reminds me of Barbara eden
definitedoll for sure EJ was just like Barbara Eden
Thank you! I thought the very same thing.
Yea,she really did make ya think of Barbara Eden
I agree. And ej peaker. Does look like Barbara eden
Watching it now, I kept thinking she was Barbara Eden, but she is a bit too young to be her. I have never heard of EJ Peaker before, but I guess at this time she was rather popular.
The 70's. What a groovy era.
In a couple more years, Men's Hair grew a bit a looked Much Better. The 70s were much better than the 80's and the 90s. Probably csuse the Republicans hadn't got their Foot in the Door yet
As this program aired in March 1970; it's pretty much 1960s bedrock.
It sure was!

I'm here because Donny let out a story of a secret room in the Haunted Mansion he and his tutor used when he spent the week filming this.

Or a closed set for filming.

It was filmed when the park was closed. Idiot
@@PrincessofEllabur The people in the immediate background were extras. If you pay attention you can see the same people show up over and over again, even walking in and out from different directions in the same scene from shot to shot.
This was aired 53 years ago -- which is a bit sobering. Time flies.
Disney vault, the wonderful world of disney sadly missed in the land of oz .
Every time I see the Haunted Mansion, I always think of my husbands first time ever riding this one during his first trip to USA last year and his first time ever going to Disneyland. This ride blew his mind so much, he grabbed my arm cos he was so afraid of the part before the doom buggies. Bless him, now he loves it so much, such good times!!! :D
I love it! I was a kid in the 70's/80's. A magic time
I miss the Disneyland of my childhood.
My favorite ride at Disneyland was The Haunted Mansion, followed by Pirates Of The Caribbean, and the rollercoaster,
I think it was called Thunder Mountain or something. An old fashioned coaster made of wood, clicking and clacking,
racing over the ups and downs so fast that your butt lifted right out of the seat.
My Grandmother LOVED "It's a Small World" because she could sit down, and she loved boats.
She also loved children, and would point out the animated kids during the ride, where they were from, and comment on the costumes.
Disney was an amazing place all right.
We could see the fireworks at night, from our backyard, during the summer season, when the park was open later for the tourist season.
They didn't set off fireworks every night, but we could see them clearly from our yard when they did.
I still have never seen anything like them all these years later.
When Disney does something, they do it better than anyone else!! That is for sure!
Tinkerbell used to fly over my Uncle Earl and Aunt Wanda's backyard when they lived near Disneyland.
@@PaulGT That right there should've added value to the house. I can just hear a real estate agent pointing out Tinkerbell to a potential buyer.
Loved mansion
omg. kurt russell with the osmonds :D
Kirk was cute young.
I thought that was him!!
He’s seemed to be in so many of these specials, Kurt Russell should be an honorary Disney Parks character.
Kurt Russell did a LOT of movies with Disney back in the 1970s. The Computer Wore Shoes and Follow Me, Boys were 2 films he did for Disney. They were shown on Disney Channel a lot back in the day and were also released on VHS in the 1980s.
Remember -- before he was an adult star, he was a child star and even appeared as a kid on an episode of Gilligan's Island as a jungle boy!
Osmond brothers got their start by singing barbershop at Disneyland. Andy Williams discovered them and had them on his show.
Pat Boone Father called Pat and said they reminded him of him and his brothers. He said it would be great to have them on his show. Pat called Andy and told him to watch them. Andy loved their singing.
I never realized how textured their harmonization was
One of my favorite episodes. And the boys were right 2 minutes exactly with "Down on the Corner." A time when Gate prices were no more than $8 and Tickets Books were what you needed to get on the rides.
Kurt Russell singing Sugar, Sugar at Disneyland in 1970. This is too good, I must be dreaming.
I loved his performance!
man, I loved this as a kid. Back then I had no idea it was The Osmonds and 'American Institution' Kuer Russell.
My niece married into the Osmond family. Wonderful people.
Who's your niece
This might be my favorite thing I have seen in ages. I grinned the whole way through.
What an amazing video! Thoroughly enjoyed that. The Disney imagineers were way ahead of their time technologically. If I had seen that as a child in the 70s it would have blown my mind. Mind you, even today, rides like Flight of Passage still blow me away. Love a bit of Disney history.
I knew the Osmonds were around forever I forgot Kurt Russell was a child actor too! 🤗
"Kurt" is Kurt Russell, before he was famous.
46:27 - The face and voice of the singing bust are Thurl Ravenscroft---the original voice of Tony the Tiger, and the singer of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch".
48:00 - The ghost host is voiced by Paul Frees---the voice of the Pillsbury Doughboy, Burgomeister Meisterburgher, and many, many other characters.
50:43 - The seance voice belongs to Eleanor Audley---Cinderella's Stepmother and Maleficent.
thank you
Eleanor Audley is my spirit animal.
Kurt was famous already with several Disney movies under his belt...The Computer who wore Tennis Shoes" was one!
"Pattie" interesting information. Where did you find this out?
Some of Paul's other fine voice roles were Boris Badenov on "Rocky & Bullwinkle", and John Beresford Tipton on "The Millionaire". And he also originally did Disney character Prof. Ludwig von Drake.
Originally telecast on March 22, 1970.
I loved the Vault Disney opening so much, and the old Wonderful World of Disney opening from that era as well. I was just about Donny's age when it aired and my brothers and I loved it when they did shows inside Disneyland. We went on vacation once a year during the summer, and would stop at Disney every year, sometimes twice, or go there and then to Knott's on our way home. We waited for YEARS for The Haunted Mansion to open---I was a little scared riding it, but loved it! Thanks for uploading this treasure!
My family lived in NY. My sister wanted so badly to go to Disney. My dad refused to take us there. He said it is the same as Coney Island.
Wow! Kurt Russell and EJ Peaker. I loved her in "Hello Dolly".
I was 6 years old. These were magical years. This brought back so many good memories
I remember the Haunted Mansion segment the most. When I visited the Magic Kingdom for the first time in 1972 and its Haunted Mansion, I recalled the scenes from this program.
So much fun. With all those teeth on the Osmond brothers, you need sunglasses. :-D
I was about five when I first saw this broadcast on TV. For the longest time I thought it was a mixed up memory because The Osmonds were singing a CCR song with Kurt Russell in there somewhere. I also remembered the guy saying the wall was about yay-high when they came into the foyer. Watching this just now was both nostalgic and eerie. Thanks for putting this up.
Me too.
I remember watching it in reruns, lol
Yeah kinda odd but cool at the same time
This gives me a chance to see parts of Disneyland when I was only 5 years old and lived 10 minutes away from it! Because I never got to go there until I was 12 and saved up my own babysitting money; our family was just too poor!
OMG! The People Mover!! The Skyway!! The Keelboats!! * swoon * Rode those tides EVERY TIME I went.
The opening is brilliant! It's wonderful watching when manners were part of everyday life! Thank you for sharing!
I never knew how shaded and covered and protected my childhood was it's sad that today's children will never know our Disney of yesterday Sunday night after bath what's the best time in our family we all got together and enjoy the Disney movie today Disney is the world and the world is Disney Disney good days are all gone😢
I sure miss the days at disney with my sister and my children.what great memories.
Fun! Hard to believe it was 50 years ago! Donny off going on rides!
Hi Arlene
"Arlene Rounce" that was the real fun part of the plot.
I guess a lot of young people could identify with that.
Donny is lucky his brothers and the guy who is always worried about being on time, did not thrash him.
I'm digging EJ's bus dancing. Dang, 1999 commercials are nostalgic for my senior year lol.
it was great being a kid in the 60's and 70's Would not trade it for anything. 63 now and loving life to the fullest!
Wow, this brings back memories. Donny and I were the same age. I had a slight crush and played their songs on the piano. Went to the Disney World first week opening growing up in Florida.
Hi Sandy
When Disneyland was at its best.
I went on the Haunted Mansion ride in 1975. Some men were saying ,even, then, that it had been toned down.
They said that it was really good, when it first opened.
"Melissa Gerber" yes, that is the paradox. A lot of the original characters, ride-themes, and movies that Disney made had very creepy ideas behind them and a lot of very young kids would only be freaked out for life.
I remember watching this show and it was my family's first time going to Disneyland that year. I loved the little white lights in the trees at night. Miss the old Disneyland.🌠.
Can we please have a 'Love Bug' parade again?! That would be Far Out.
Used to watch these shows on TV as a kid! What a different world it is now. 😢
I miss a lot of the old rides that are no longer there. The People Mover, the Sky Buckets, the original location of the Rockets, the original storyline of the Submarines, the original Tom Sawyers Island.
this makes me so nostalgic, and i was born 34 years after this was aired :')
The dancer in the bear suit was awesome.
It was a theater attraction called Country Bear Jamboree.
What an Adorable Upload!
Thank You for Sharing this Cute Gem 💖
Aw man this is old school way back pre Donny and Marie. Guess any osmond is better than none! I talked to Alan I think, a few weeks ago on here, when he commented on a post of the osmonds side by side.
That building was still Rocket to the Moon. We made it in 1969 so I think that's why they turned it into Mission to Mars.
My eyes still widen with awe, the way I did so as a child, while watching The Wonderful World of Disney introduction. 💫
I knew the writer for "Sugar sugar " ! I did anmial voice overs for a friend of his. This was an episode I missed. Back then there was maybe 4 channels on T.V. reception wasn't the greatest. I watched the Osmonds on Andy Williams! Watched Disney every Sunday.
52:04 Ah, THERE you are. And just in time. There's a little matter I forgot to mention. Beware of hitchhiking ghosts. (spooky laugh) They have selected *you* to fill out quota, and they will haunt you until you return.
Say! The beautiful blonde, strolling around, with the Osmonds Bros. looks a GREAT DEAL like "I Dream of Jeannie" Barbara Eden!!
Back when Disney was great and wonderful!
50:54 The happy haunts have received your sympathetic vibrations, and are beginning to materialize. They're assembling for a "swinging wake" and they'll be expecting me. I'll see you all a little later.
I miss Vault Disney so much.
Me too!!!

You’d think they’d upload complete runs of Wonderful World and World of Color to Disney+ but so far, no.
This was right around the time Kurt took time off acting to play in his dad's Portland baseball team. Man, America was great back then...
🙄
Sunday nights! Mutual of Omaha followed by the Wonderful World of Disney!
I was 5 years old back in 1970. That was the year I went there for the very 1st time. I remember the haunted mansion like it was yesterday. It scared the bejeezus outta me! Last time I was in Disneyland, was with my late wife back in 1988. I’m finally going back this year after Christmas! Can’t wait to see all the new rides there! 😊
Aw. Hope it brings back new, happy memories.
I went when I was 5 in 1971. I remember me crying in my mom's lap, pleading to not take me into the Haunted Mansion, while my brotherstill and sisters went through.
The Haunted Mansion is taken over by Jack Skellington and The Nightmare Before Christmas during the holiday season. I drove my daughter nuts wanting to go on it again and again. It was my favorite. It has all the imagineering of the standard Haunted Mansion, just jazzed up with a Halloween and Christmas twist. If you get a chance to go during the holidays to see it, I think you’d like it if you’re a Haunted Mansion fan.
I was 4 in 1970 and it scared me too…now I love it especially the nightmare before Christmas overlay. It’s not the same but still magical.
The boys are all so cute.
And thus began one of Hollywood’s great love triangles - Kurt Russell, Merrill Osmond and EJ Peaker.
Amazing. Everyone looking well dressed, intrigued and happy. Plus , imagine witnessing the Carousel of Progress as if it was your life and timeline!❤
All those beautiful old fashioned cameras.

This is a slice of pure old time American corn, it’s about as far from today as 1900 America was to them. Fascinating and historic in its own way.
When I was a kid I would try to stay up as late as possible to watch the Vault Disney block. It felt so cool, being up late, in the dark, watching these old shows about stuff that I knew and loved presented from a different time.
