You didn't fool Penn and Teller, but you definitely fooled me!
Title is misleading, this man is not an envelope.
To be fair, it was an open question, not a statement:D
And he didnt fool them
@@oz_jones But its phrased as a question, which leaves it open to go both ways.
Don't get me wrong, its fucking clickbait nonsense and there's a special place in hell for people who do this.
But there was never a claim that it fooled anyone :D
He's a magician, he's supposed to mislead you
@@Zechariah340 hahaha
Fooled by a title more like, but nice trick.
Same haha
Yeah, bullshit title.
well it has a “?” so it’s asking not telling
Skipped ahead didn't even watch the video. Seemed clickbait
There was a ? mark lol but I didn't catch it at first either
I'm impressed that Alyson can be anybody's lovely assistant effortlessly.
2:51 - the second picture is drawn.
5:22 - the first picture is revealed.
Two different pictures.
The hair, look at the red hair on Allyson’s pic.
Correct!
Ofcourse it's not the same drawing...that would mean he did real magic. The question that remains is: "How does it work?"
The joke about cutting someone in half reminded me of a quote from Hugh Dennis: "When you said you could cut a woman in half...I assumed you were a magician."
This was a great performance that I watched at an amazingly perfect time. It's too much to mention here but I'll just say that I recently had dinner with Gene and greatly appreciate this performance doing him justice!
Thanks. What people don’t realize is Gene was obviously an inspiration to this and I got his blessings after too. Love Gene!
Great job Michael. Always great to see another Canadian on the show. Keep it up!
Thanks so much!
Go Canadian Go!
@@MichaelTheMagician 😅9😊😅 be😂
The key was the bird, he had a parrot that would mimic Alison's drawing, we all know parrots are good for mimic. He already had the picture of Alison as he drew it, but the parrot did the dirty work of replicating Alison's one. Well done though
No i think there were some small bird eggs in the envelopes, they hatched and the little birdies drew the correct piece of art.
@@Jorscam lol
I think the key word in there was flap
I figured that there was 2 sheets of paper and he bled the marker through with the squeaky sound so there was two copies. He then covered her drawing with the copy and he just left that piece in the envelope when he pulled it out.
@@roscosanchez4649 thought it was suspicious when he held the board when she drew hers. Couldn’t have done it without that I feel
I was sure Penn would refer to the "Scream" painting behind you and would mention that Munch actually painted 4 versions of the same painting. Weird he didn't do it.
it's pretty self explanatory.
That was an amazing trick. It fooled the heck out of me.
Thank you!
Me too
I loved the pun with the daughter's name. Just had to think twice about it. :D
As soon as he said it u thought of kanyes line from all falls down “couldn’t afford a car so she named her daughter Alexis”
@@reid.5235 I was just about to write that but your a day earlier lol
@@reid.5235 I'm a Kanye fan, so its possible that's where it came from ;)
@@MichaelTheMagician I remember seeing a similar joke on an 80s sitcom (unfortunately can't recall which) where a dad got a cat for his daughter and named the cat "Portia" so he could brag that he bought his daughter one.
That name makes sense considering the fact that his daughter's name is Alexis and Alyson's husband's name is Alexis which she did not want to even bother telling him that his daughter has the same name as her husband.
Nice job Michael. You could not fool Penn & Teller with your trick, but you fooled all of us here on youtube with the title of your video. You should be a proud magician ?!?!?!?!?!?
2:54 and 5:25 are not the same picture. note the righthand long hair not the same curve.
He has excellent stage presence.
Thanks a ton!
It's so cool when Penn talks in code.
Funny that I can tell when he’s speaking in code and still have no idea what he’s saying
I listen close to everything he says and I can't figure it out most times. In this case I'm guessing the artist he mentions is another magician that does the same trick the same way but I could be way off.
It also speaks to how much they study magic and magicians. Some of the names and techniques they pull out with their code are just amazing.
@@midwestweirdo666 The name drop was about another magician I'm guessing, but talking about birds I think was just a way to bring up arms. The arms on his Alison portrait weren't the same at the reveal as they were when he drew them originally, so that portrait must have been pre drawn and already on her canvas and he tried to replicate it. Extremelly slick with the switches however/whenever he's doing that though.
Despite the differences people have pointed out with the drawings, I still think this a really good trick by Michael - I've been going back and forth frame by frame and I can't see any actual switch, or actually detect anything suspicious when he slides it out of the envelope, other than doing so cautiously and horizontally. If a sheet of paper has to physically move from one frame to the other, then I can't see any flapping about (as Penn hints at), merely light coming off the glass which matches the reflections you'd expect. I'm highly suspicious about the frames themselves, and the way he tightly holds them together like that, but…
He doesn't switch he flips. Both drawings made on stage are in his thing.
Penns comment about bird arms are about the ones on the drawing of Alyson. they are different
When he places them face--to-face is when it happens. There are two Allison drawings and a plate that gets transferred when the frames are face to face.
Jesus this is a old trick and it’s embarrassing you are this clueless about it. He should have been embarrassed to present an old trick off the shelf with no modifications.
@@waynewayne9693 cooooool
I have loved hockey ever since I was a kid watching the movie Mighty Ducks. I’ve loved watching magic just as long.😊
Your kids show today in Ottawa brought me here. You called up my son Rico (red wings hat) at the performance and he had a blast. Thank you.
Imagine your first performance in Vegas being in front of Penn and Teller while trying to fool them. I would've been a nervous wreck.
Very cool indeed.
Never been huge on magic but I think it’s cool. I kinda understand after reading the comments how he got his drawing but how exactly did her drawing change? Likeee it was in her hands. And it was shown being put in the envelope while it was in her hands
No. Allison's signature was shown being put in the envelope, not her drawing, and her signature wasn't shown coming out of the envelope, just her drawing. I'm guessing the magic happened during the 'recap'
I been waiting for one of these performers to sniff the marker. 🤣
6:57 Someone in the audience forgot to turn down their cell phone's volume 😆
lmao
Try 6:59 🙂
But why is 2010 Penn in the background at 5:59 tho
How many puns do you want?
Yes!
Gambling holds no appeal to me, and I think the atmosphere of a casino would get on my nerves.
These kinds of shows are the saving grace that make Vegas intriguing to me. I wish you well in your career, and hope that your shows continue to become even grander with time.
I'm sure Vegas is no longer worrying about what you find appealing.
Now that's a true artist he puts his artwork crap in other people's hands
Kept the 2 drawing boards together and he definitely has drawn his drawing many times before.
I love how his accent, his humors and tone are sooooooo much like Sean Farquhar's for some reason.
Loved it mate well done great trick
Michael I just want to say to you your an awesome and amazing Magician. I really enjoyed this video. I hope you read this comment. Leave my a heart if you did
Thank you!
OK, I got it now :)= It is surprisingly simple and very very clever. I got parts of it at first but it took reading some comments and some slow-speed replay to nail it. Thing is - it's almost a self working trick. With some caveats but as a party trick it is excellent. Going to skip signing, though...
May not have fooled them but definitely fooled me good job 👏🏾
I can't believe what I just saw. Incredible.
Was the "flap" part of Penn talking about paper flapping and not staying in place? I noticed he had to hold the paper down and then when he put the one on top of the other it fell before he concealed it a bit. I just don't get the birds and arms and flapping keywords haha. Was a neat trick though. Without video I would not have seen anything that would have given it away at all.
Damn, the arms! How'd he catch it?
What arms? Please explain
@@brianivandertp You can tell the hands in his drawing connect differently to the arms, so there were two allison drawings, but I can't believe penn actually noticed (if he did at all)
@@polhikkii 2 drawings, yes. hairs have difference curves.
i love whem he makes the comment about a little bit of hair the camera man pans to another bald guy in the crowd 😆
Nicely done, but I bet that trick wouldn't work with normal hand held white-boards.
Penn: Birds don't have arms, and you didn't fool us!
You: OK I guess I didn't fool you.
Me:...WTF?...
Very well done!
Only ONE I would love to have the assistant say: "Well, no, thats not the picture you made of me/I drew". Of course it's easier for us on TV, but even with watching it once it was clear, that the second picture of Allison was not the one he drew first.
Well You Sure Fooled The Hell Outta Me!! Fantastic Trick!!💯
Was the backside of the "picture" after the switch also signed correctly?
How do you strike a pose and not go straight Vogue?
One of those tricks where I don’t bother to work out the exact process because there is so much fishy stuff going on with putting the frames together, not seeing what went in her envelope etc.
How did you do it?
One of the Frames changed its size but I still don’t get it.
I think when he ask Allison to check the envelope he was holding something like thin as paper inside with the envelope
It's very important, I think that the drawings were drawn with both frames touching each other.
That was awesome!
Penn noticed the pre-drawn picture of Alyson was different than the one drawn on stage.
Just went back to compare the two drawings.. nice catch
@@ShengYu1995 Easy to put it past the audience though.
@@PikesvilleAl
They sure put it by me too or past me
2:51 3:37 5:26
Bruh, how did you see this, i had to take pictures and compare side by side to see a difference
Awesome! And from my home town!!
Very cool trick , loved it!
Allison drew Charlie Brown, lol.
The trick fooled me for sure, and most tricks don't. I have no idea how you did that. 😎
Well normally I can at least come up with something of how a trick is done even if the magician was so good I didn’t see anything, but I haven’t the first place to start with this one.
He had a flap on his so he had 2 pictures on 1 frame
He is flipping them constantly and the pictures of Allison are not the same, maybe start with that.
So funny, love it!!!
Great execution and delivery!
That Presenter has to definitely be in on it.
Pity he didn't turn them around to show them signed
Do you think Allison loses any sleep over not knowing how tricks work? I do
Not a bit lol, she seems to love the sense of wonder
I like the perfomance but I've noticed an editor's cut at 3:45. Looks like something went wrong on stage and was hidden at post (:
Nothing went wrong on stage. It was actually done in one take 😊
@@MichaelTheMagician wow, thanks for response! Then the cut means an editor wanted to add more dynamic to the picture or just get in the right timings of the show for TV (: Anyway the perfomance was great
Come on guys he doesn't deserve so many dislikes just for the title. What a nice and funny trick!
The title is properly punctuated. People clearly don’t understand what a ‘?’ is… and - yes - the title is totally deliberate.
It doesn’t matter anyway. Like or dislike is exactly the same as far as the CZcams algorithm is concerned.
@@MichaelTheMagician It's a question mark and an exclamation point followed by another question mark. Indicating shock, not a question. It's implied. If you knew better it'd be disingenuous but the most important thing is, nothing bad happened to anyone, and they spent a few minutes watching a talented person do something fun and joyful!
How did he do it? Why were the drawings so subtly different?
3:50 took me a bit but that re cap joke was killer xD
The trick is that he drew her before hand 🤣
amazing
Great trick!
Did you have an etch a sketch as a kid? :)
Not even going to bother to replay the video or anything just on the top of my head to figure it out- alsyon’s drawing got transferred when it was face down and she ‘signed’ it to the magicians drawing frame. There were duplicate drawings from the magician. The flap part is how the drawings changed from another, so the frames were gimmicked. He didnt even show the other side of the frame after the reveal part lol. Sneaky switching techniques there.
I wish they'd explain how he didn't fool them? Cos that was full on magic in my head lool 😂
Penn is very kind that not tell the whole fact behind. If you do a search for "jean anderson magician", you will find he was mostly copying Jean Anderson's trick. That's not creative at all by mostly reusing a trick that invented by other.
@@lionelnlex You're right, Teller never exposes the secret, because he never talks!
Wow ...If we saw Alison's be checked before, that would've been killer.
'Anxiety runs in my family.' How about no..
'Metamorphasis is when two people switch..' How about no...
Just solved it... Amazing trick...!
His picture he drew was different to the one that Alison pulled out the bag...
Quite a simple technique, I'm not surprised they figured it out. Still, great performance!
I doubt they did much figuring. They likely knew how it was done from the start since it's prop magic that anybody can buy off the shelf.
Really nice frames you have there, special ones, me like. :)
I was fooled by the title!
I think the paper wasn’t paper at all, and neither were the markers. I think they were drawing tablets that were connected via Bluetooth and programmed to display what was drawn on the other one
I think I know the possible tirck, I just can't relate it to the birds... but this is my assumption as an Engineer.
When he was drawing he was coping his drawing on the other frame and same when girl drew her drawing was being copied to other frame throw hidden layer in frame.. when he puts the frame into folders he press on frame so it will be changed to other copped picture...
however it is good one love what he did....
ok so i figured out the drawing of alison in the beginning is not the same drawing at the end
Those are some nice easels
“And she’s so precious, with the peer pressure, couldn’t afford a car so she named her daughter Alexis(A Lexus), now tell me that ain’t insecure”
The photos of her are different. Look at her one arm, one is straighter than the other
Not sure about the drawing of him, looks similar (maybe the feet are different?)
Everyone knows Penn and Teller are vulnerable to envelopes! You used their Kryptonite. Fooled me.
Wow a magician from Ottawa! Awesome
3:44 you can see the whiteboard part fall off after he flips it over, probably how it works.
Yeah, there is paper falling down
I'm going back on Penn and Teller fool us
I think I have an idea how it’s done, though I don’t get Penn’s bird reference 🤷🏻♂️
Doesn't need that clickbait title though. :D
😂😂
Obviously the picture frame props are gimmicked. There's a reason he kept them pressed firmly together throughout the trick even to the point of awkwardly holding them while Allison drew her picture. I doubt it would fool most people let alone seasoned performers like Penn and Teller.
You lead a kingdom, I serve empires.
Facts
2:32 did you get that one from Kanye? ahahah
Man I had to scroll pretty far down the comments to find someone mentioning it!
Bro has a bluetooth board tat transfers the image
1/ Look he hold the frames stick together: the picture is printed on the other frame
2/ Look at the end he doesn't display the signature, it's because only the picture changed and not the signature
3/ Look in his envelop his hand holding the frames and envelop: tricking something
No...the image is different look at his original drawing and then look at Alisons when she pulls iy out.. the drawings are slightly different.
Nice performance, not nice click bait title.

I agree. That’s why I now pay for Premium. It’s the best money I’ve spent on any video/streaming service.
I'm the same way. How do they not get that constantly interrupting the show with their product will make you _hate_ the product? Anyways, I have the (free) Ublock Origin extension so I never have to watch them. Try it out. :-)
If you're watching on android device, install vanced app. Checkout r/vanced on how to install.
I hate advertisers! They have ruined CZcams.
@@Durzo1259 Ublock is great, but I feel a little grubby because it stops legitimately good channels from earning. I pay for Premium, which doesn't have the grubby feel (other than giving google money) as revenue gets to the channels, and doesn't benefit those bloody advertisers.

Easy trick really, the frames are gimmicks, that's why he didn't turn them on both sides at the end.
