The problem is that the BBC is run by muppets and those muppets have got it into their heads that they need a 'celebrity' to be the main presenter, when actually what they need is someone who is a) a good presenter and b) knowledgeable about and passionate about cars, both of which Harris is. But he won't get the job because Joe Public hasn't heard of him, even though no one had heard of Clarkson, May or Hammond before they worked on Top Gear.

ok guys, I think they've had enough with the constant dislikes. BBC made a mistake they can't undo, and while this is no hammond may and clarkson shenanigans, this IS top notch automotive content and should be treated as such.
This was such a good, long production. And it didn't even feel like they had to force the length. Very very very good stuff. Disgusted to see a Bentley Continental on a GT3 track of all things but they still made it a thrill.
BBC chairman even accepted their mistake saying they should have kept Clarkson and found another way around the problems.

Running out of tape is probably the worst thing that can happen to an endurance team.
Australian race teams use left over Weet Bix and vegimite. Stronger and cheaper when combined with heat.

@Dario DeNiro something major like a blown engine is a racestopper, for sure, but that's guaranteed to kill your chances because you can't fix it. However, if something happens that takes the car off the track but is still fixable, and you've run out of tape to fix it? That shatters you.

those cars look like art after 24h of racing... dirty, broken, shattered, bits missing, rubber everywhere...
after watching this iam actually amazed cars can take few hours of this torture, not even talking 24 hours...technology behind this is huge...and the speed they are going is simply crazy

You should thank Neil Carey for that. As always, fantastic video footage and soundtrack on Chris Harris videos. All of the soundtracks used are very good and spot on. I think Neil Carey also directed most of if not all of Chris Harris scene from Top Gear but they don't mention it (just my opinion).
This is one the most engaging racing videos I have ever watched. Thank you for doing this, Chris, and thank you for showing us all of the awesome details of this wonderful show: from the atmosphere to racing to the crashes and the repairs: absolutely brilliant. And yes, whoever picked the music deserves a second slice of cake.

You really shouldn't put any energy into caring about likes or dislikes on a CZcams video - ESPECIALLY ones that OTHER people are leaving. Really. It says nothing about those people whether they give it a thumbs up or down, but it does say a bit about the person who determines that anyone who dislikes a video is "pathetic" (or thinks they can determine ANYTHING about a person based on liking / disliking a youtube video). Thinking you can understand what a person is like based on just that factor, and viewing them as "pathetic" only serves to show how absolutely disgusting of a personality YOU have if you make such a strong judgment of a person's worth based on literally nothing but how they rated a video. You even have the arrogance to do so without them saying a single thing about why they disliked the video - just them clicking thumbs down is enough to make a person "pathetic" to you. Chris has been putting quality content out for a long time. It's only his stint on tg that has made him main stream.

I haven't been following Chris Harris in his personal chanel, nor the new TG but 10 minutes into this video. Respect. Fun and full of facts and useful information, a grown up TG. Instant fan.
It's reminiscent of the 90s Top Gear, if you like cars and motorsports it's for you. If not then it isn't. I'm glad they got rid of that Chris Evens bloke though.

Quayshawn Dameron lol wanna take a chill pill? The race is professional but Chris (not to take anything away from him) is considered/races in the AM Cup, you'll notice the Pro-AM sticker on the back of their car that he mentions. I believe in the 3 driver line up they need to have at least one professional driver and 2 gentleman racers. Chris Harris is a journalist who races, not the same really as a race car driver who blogs. If you can find Patrick Dempsey's(yes the greys anatomy actor) Discovery mini-series Racing Le Mans from a few years ago and it'll give you a better look into what i'm tryna explain

The sound of that engine and the straight-cut gearbox is glorious.
It's these stories and moments that encourage me to keep pursuing my dream of being a GT3 driver. For now I just have to learn from every opportunity I get from high performance karts, to small private autocross events, to driving twisted mountain roads. People like Chris that share their stories and experiences remind me that it isn't just the thrill of driving that I'm working towards. It's the challenges, the nature of always improving on yourself, the collaboration with your teammates, and the friendships and bonds that will last your lifetime. The podium is pretty cool, but the story that led to that pole is priceless!

Chris Harris has to be one of the most entertaining motorsports presenters ever. Nice having a guy that has some driving skill to be able to walk the viewer through process of a race and do it in a humorous and yet a somewhat self depreciating way. That is such a rare treat. Thanks Chris.

This was mega. Really reminded me of the 24 hour race the trio did back in the day. It's unfortunate Harris doesn't have anyone to bounce off of. I think it'd be absolutely incredible if he had 2 others as great as himself.

Go watch Chris Harris on cars. Start with f40 vs f50 or his top speed runs in a veyron back when he was with autocar when the car was new.
Chris also drives historic at goodwood. The jaguar lister in the tt is arguably the best car video on the internet.
There we go. Chris Harris Drives on an actual, usable, recognizable platform, instead of the clunky website where, if you don't know where the videos are located, you'll never know they're there. Now, bring some more over, and this channel could actually be more than just silly highlights. Not a bad first step.

Well, ask people who survived the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, especially this year's race.
It's not the same pilot for 24h so ..
Chris Harris did the 24h at Nurburgring
he didn't do it this year....well technically he was there and was suppose to race at the N24 but during a Qualifying session the car he was suppose to be driving crashed hard and was pulled from the event due to the damage.
Well when youre put into a car like this and adrenaline is pumping, pretty easy to have 3 hours fly by in what feels like 35 minutes Verbose Slayer

What a fantastic video. Chris' narration really captures what he was feeling at every point in the race. That combined with the brilliant shooting of the cars is just outstanding.

This without a doubt is the best film Top Gear have produced since the 'Holy Trinity' left. Amazing footage, engaging narrative, just top effort all round!!
This was all Chris and the cameraman that filmed his old show with him, Neil. They always made quality stuff and now it seems with some BBC funding it's even more exotic.

Don't get your hopes up. The title might say Top Gear at the end, but this is not Top Gear. Let's say he is a presenter on Top Gear who happens to do quite a lot of racing. He also drives in the Goodwood Revival, but you don't see "Top Gear' mentioned there.

This is the video I show people when I want to explain why I love endurance racing. What a beautiful spectacle it is. Thousands of people gathered around to watch man and machine work together... there’s just nothing like it. And when the sun goes down it really feels like a different planet
For some reason this video is just so soothing and emotionally touching for me. After all the fancy cars and driving we've seen from Chris Harris, this is the reality of motorsports. It's not fancy, it's tough, it might even be pretty sad, but after all it's just amazing and shows that true passion we all have.
Great job Chris Harris! Absolutely the BEST you've ever done imo.

Yeah I'm pretty sure. He's always been doing a mixed bunch with cars and racing for as long as I can remember. He also passed his bike test a couple of years ago. Not sure why, but he's fit for most stuff with cars and cameras.

He's not strictly a pro, I believe he runs in "pro-am" and "am" classes usually. But he definitely is a race driver.

I’d like to say thank you to Chris Harris and the Top Gear team for creating what I think is the best piece of automotive television I’ve ever seen. Absolutely brilliant! The noise from the cars made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! To think we won’t have this in a few years when motorsport moves to EV is devastating. I’m definitely going to have to get a ticket for Spa 2021 and enjoy this whilst I can!
