I'm surprised successful college teammates haven't been paired more often. I understand you gotta hit certain athletic benchmarks as a pro, but continuity and chemistry is huge. Anyone who's ever played bball knows what I'm talking about. Everything is organic. You have 3 of them in this case that won a champ in college together. They're friends off the court and also understand pros-cons of each guys game. I bet you if they paired Hunter/Jerome/Guy off that UVA team, they would fair pretty well. It's the same philosophy.

You make a great point. You do see it here and there, like Joe Burrow and JaMarr Chase, but I think pro teams are wary of a Jordan-UNC situation where a star forces mediocre pros onto the team just because they're his college guys and hates on guys from rival schools (see: Horace Grant).

I guarantee if you had 3 of them on the court consistently with 2 other solid starters, deep bench, etc. they'd win games. When 2-3 guys have chemistry, it leads to better chemistry amongst all the other pieces

Chemistry is huge if you can utilize it correctly. 5 guys on the court working as 1. NBA nowadays is all stars going iso w shooters standing around. I feel like Brunson, Hart, Donte are showing team ball wins out...Ntm, Jerome is still a viable backup in league and Hunter is solid, 15 ppg guy already. I wasn't making the point 3 of them would be a contender btw lol. I still don't think Knicks are beating Boston either. There is a cap, unless Brunson maintains superstar mode when needed. They'd fare better than casuals would realize though, imo at least, from playing and watching since I was a kid.
