  • Apples have been associated with a number of benefits that could help promote long-term health, but one of my favorite things that apples, and more importantly the peel can do is feed the all-important bacteria called Akkermansia Municiphila. Akkermansia helps to maintain our gut lining and has many health benefits by keeping gut lining strong. When it's damaged you can have leaky gut syndrome which is linked to IBS, anxiety, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Check out the podcast to learn more.

    Thank You for this Content!
Apples are one of my favorite fruits! I love the Green Apples more than the red. My favorite red Apples are Cortland, Macintosh and Gala!
But I only eat Apples in their season from Orchards. Apples from grocery store are covered in wax and tend to have weird textured flesh. I stock up on apples to last me through the winter. The same with peaches, only in season.
I hope I'll have more time this year to learn pickling and preserving fruits and vegetables.

I used to eat an apple a day. I triggered a major stomach pain under left rib. also, my lips and mouth would tingle after eating apples. well, turns out, it was the non organic apples, loaded with glyphosate

If i don't have appendix from childhood could it be i don't have akkeromansia? I had severe prolonged appendicites that i almost died and they removed it fully and i had long time recovery. It's been more like 10 years they didn't even told me i have to eat any probiotics or smt... later in my life i once had episode of stress that i never recovered from, for more than year and a half my stool never been normal or thick or smth i tried many things like elimination died forest baths magnesium sun gazing etc does not worked until i moved and started doing kefir.
Still kefir does not contain any akkeromansia and many anaerobic bacteria that are living without oxygen i am not sure i can get it from food or earthing.
From my research the person who had appendix removed is not able to fully restore his microbiome after the situation of a stress or diarrhea he always should recover it himself from food. Unfortunately there is so much people and doctors speaking about microbiome but no one talks about appendicites related stuff. Maybe i should try human milk? Not sure if it's has enough of anaerobic bacteria.

Is it possible to not have any akkremancia in the gut and if so how do you feed it with apple peels or do you have to get probiotics for that?

Understanding that FOS is a good food as well as apple peel. What you recommend as a daily amount of FOS to consume & I notice they sell capsules with FOS as well. Or perhaps inulin powder might be used - unsure what it is actually.

@@CulturedFoodLifeare apples with peel good for second ferment kefir? Dr Gundry argues that all the benefits of polyphenols are canceled out when combined with any dairy whether it be coffee with milk or yoghurt with berries you are not getting the benefits of polythenols from them
