Thanks for taking the time to put together the video. General Motors deserves a credit for creating the most difficult cabin filter replacement design in the automotive world. The 2018 Traverse is one of the best designed cars I have driven but the cabin filter replacment was designed by monkeys, and not very bright ones.
Thank you for showing great tips for changing filters. I think that GM cabin filter changing is quite similar between every vehicle from the smaller one to the larger one. I have previously owned the Chevy sonic which seems to be quite similar. Anyway, it was so helpful!
Somewhere deep within the General Motors corporate offices… “Throw a useless torx screw in there so they’ll feel more compelled to pay our $100 filter charge at the dealerships! Oh, and make it inaccessible! Mwhahahaha”
There must have been a mid-model year update because I just changed the filter on out May 2018 build 2018 Traverse and the screw is not there. The hole is there for it but no screw.
THANK YOU so much! I don't think it took me all of 5 to 10 minutes (even with the notching), and the dealer wanted almost $50 (plus the filter). Pfffff😃😂
Only General Motors could make an air filter that requires that you break your car to replace it. And they wonder why nobody ever replaces these filters.

I don’t comment often but THANK YOU for showing me exactly what to do at home. Let alone saving the $$$
I accidentally just tossed that screw in the trash when I was done. I still sleep well at night.
Thanks for the video.
This was so easy to do, and your tutorial saved my about $40 already. Thank you!

Great Video! Only thing missing was letting us know which way the arrows should point for the air flow of the filter.
Air flow down. That is based on some other videos I watched and the instructions that came with my replacement I put in today.
Thanks for the Information they tried to charge my wife $100 bucks to change this filter, i told her it was easy to change out .
Great video!
Thanks for the great video, followed it exactly and done in 15 minutes. Not sure why GM did not mold the relief in for the screw.....
Great help I have a redline traverse and saved that 69 dollars that charge at the dealer
Thanks, nice tip with the notch.

Lifesaver
Nice video!
Thanx a bunch!!
Wow an empty, clean glove box. Ours has every piece of mail in it from the beginning of time.
Sir thank you for saving me $70 dollars 💵 !
How about the fuel filter on this unit? Have you ever replaced that?

Hi what’s the part number for the 2018? I can’t find it online

My 2018 has another 15 torx bolt on top that's horizontal and there is no way to remove the horizontal bolt.
Nice video! Thanks for the info. I would now like to punch the GM engineer in the face! Ridiculous to cut plastic in a brand new 19 vehicle.
For the love of whatever you love - turn that phone sideways BEFORE you start filming! Never shoot video in portrait mode!
This is a great little video with an awkward angle to shoot - keep your mouth shut.
Dealer charges 79$ ridiculous
This has seriously got to be the WORST camera work ever !!! Thanks for the tips..but you made my eyes hurt trying to watch this.
