    THANK YOU so much!!! While I know which end of a screwdriver to use, I don't consider myself really competent in doing body work on cars. This video guided me through the process and I was able to complete the task in far less time than I thought it would take, and with no problems. Keep up the great work!

    Thank you very much for this video. I am by no means an expert with vehicles, tools or the like, but with your instructions and which tools to use, I was able to replace the assembly in about 2 hours. Someone experienced, I could see this taking 20-30min, I think if I had to do it again, it would be about 45 min. Thank you, saved me a ton of time and money doing it myself rather than taking it to the dealership!

    Wow. Thanks. I used your video and swapped my light perfectly. I'm so appreciative.
    One note for anyone doing the same, leave the top two screws in until you have removed the body panel. They attach the light directly to the body and will hold it in place when you remove the panel. In my case the light pulled out with the panel and since I was being super cautious I didn't want to tug too hard to release it - it was firmly attached. Ended up slotting it back to the car body and then I could separate it but the two screws would've prevented the light from moving in the first place.
    Again though, thank you.

      @@stevekellerman9892 Oh 100%. And this video made it doable for me. When the car has been used for awhile I assume it just loosens up. So whereas you had to hit it to remove it later on in the video, mine just fell out when I pulled the body panel - but I couldn't separate the two until I held it back in place and pulled the panel separately.

    Thanks for posting. I'm betting the same process applies to 2019-20 BLAZERS. GM deserves an award for designing complexity into what's normally a simple job! Add to the fact, they SHOULD'VE made the signals & Brake lights LED (all running lights are) particularly on the freshly designed 2019-up BLAZER. Engineering brilliance & a $200 bulb change at the Dealership, Go GM!!! What's worse, the old fashioned incandescent bulbs don't appear bright or quick on/off. LEDs were held back on the design table deliberately & in this day & age, there was NO excuse. I love the new BLAZER, but will reconsider the competition next time I shop for a $50,000 vehicle.

    This is the most dishonest thing ever. And it's not just GM. I have been doing paintless dent repair since 1993, and all tail lights and even some headlights used to be simple removal and installation. But now, if you want to change a headlight, the whole front of the vehicle has to come off. If you want to change a taillight, the entire bumper cover is involved when two screws are all that is necessary. They have done this so that you cannot perform a simple task like changing a bulb on your own. They have made it so complicated that they are forcing you to take it to preferably their shop, where they can charge you a couple of hours for something that should take you 10 minutes. This is over engineering for greed.

    • @stevekellerman9892
      @stevekellerman9892  Před rokem +2

    • @richardbullwood5941
      @richardbullwood5941 Před rokem

      @@stevekellerman9892 I explained in my comment why they do this. This way, you have to take it to the shop and spend at least 2 hours labor on having a tail light replaced instead of doing it on your own and the shop not getting any money

    • @richardbullwood5941
      @richardbullwood5941 Před rokem +1

      I could be off a year or two, but I think it was the 2000 through 2004 or 6 Chevy Silverados where you could take out the Headlights by pulling two pins. Literally remove two pins and the headlights come out. Now, you have to remove the grill and the grill assembly to get headlights out. It's about hiding screws. They hide screws and bolts on purpose so it's intimidating for the average customer to do anything themselves. Honda tried to make it to where if you did any work on your own car, it invalidated the warranties. That was struck down in court, so all of the manufacturers decide to make even the simplest repairs hard for the average Joe.

    • @josephalger8879
      @josephalger8879 Před rokem +2

      Here for a PDR repair myself. So stupid when you quote a vehicle and didn’t take this into account before quoting the repair. Over complicates the process for everyone.

    • @richardbullwood5941
      @richardbullwood5941 Před rokem

      @@josephalger8879 when I do hail estimates for the insurance companies, R&I used to be no big deal. It was so simple, I didn't bother to figure headlights taillights or anything else when doing a panel estimate. I would charge for the headliner, that's it. So now, I either make the service department do all of it if I'm doing a car for a dealership, or I charge through the roof for removal and reinstallation if I have to do it myself. What used to be so simple is now so difficult
