I am a fan of the new 2018-19 Traverse like you showed in this video. It is a HUGE upgrade over the previous generation and actually has more space in the back with the 3rd row folded down than a Silverado with a 5ft bed, I just wouldn't throw sand, gravel, cinder blocks, etc.. in it and tear it up. I know TFL tried to start a towing series with non truck based frame CUVS last year or the year before, but it didn't go far. I bet there would be some people interested in 3rd row CUV towing or even 5 seaters like the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Chevy Equinox with the 2.0 L Turbo 4 that tows 3,500 lbs, and many other popular bulk brand compact to large crossovers.

Great review, thanks for the good job! Trailer looks like it still isn't level. That causes some pogoing in the rear of the vehicle. You should be within 1.25 inches front and rear on the trailer. I get it if you didn't have quite the right hitch drop, though.

Have the same model in a 2018. Have over 20k trouble free miles and achieving 30mpg on the free way. Best vehicle I have ever had. I even drive a 2018 Toyota Highlander at work and prefer the Traverse anytime.
Highlander has lots of wind noise and annoying transmission. Highlander is under powered I find. Always have to mash the gas pedal to get the vehicle going. GM did a great job on the 2nd Gen Traverse.

The comments on this video are ridiculous. This car was 100% designed in 2018. The 3.6L is also totally new, same displacement, but the engine got a massive redesign. The timing chain issues are fixed. The 9 speed is flawless so far, I haven't seen a single issue so far at the dealership level. We sell tons of these to rentals too. They get returned beat on hard and no major warranty issues so far.

the trash is very large. In this company there is no customer service,
the company's management does not care at all, if you have a problem or a
malfunction, you can only pray to God there is a chance that the help
will come faster. GM is a very dangerous company, be careful and keep
your money safe.!!!Share so more people don't get screwed.

You made two assertions that I suspect to be inaccurate. 1st. The Tahoe would get worse gas mileage. You haven't given us the fuel mileage that you experienced during your time with the Traverse. 2nd and most importantly you recommended this Traverse for a family that needed the third row seats and might be towing a boat. I will agree to using your recommendation of not exceeding 4k#. That's at least 400# subtracted from the vehicles payload. I'm betting that once you and one more adult are in this vehicle the payload will be maxed out. Not picking on you but I don't want to see TFL making assertions that could lead to problems for anyone. I have a 2019 Suburban that has such a low payload rating that once you load passengers and normal cargo you really can't exceed towing much more than a 2k# trailer. Just words of caution and I hope it helps to remind everyone to look at all of the associated numbers. Take care, we do enjoy your reviews.

Not a ton of power! 😂 it's got 310hp and 290 ft lbs of torque. It ain't no ram 2500 but the trucks of yesteryear where putting up low 200hps and 250ft lbs of torque. Not including diesels. It's got plenty of tow power.

1st: Towing big trailers with small or midsize SUVs should be illegal. I have been to dozens of crashes where people don’t want to drop $6000 on a used truck to properly tow their $70k 36 foot holiday trailer.
2nd: When I buy a vehicle the first thing I check is the hitch to see if it’s been a used to pull a trailer. If seen a used hitch on any GM suv smaller than a Tahoe I would run in the opposite direction. Engine = JUNK Transmission = JUNK. FWD based towing vehicles = JUNK. Start/Stop = JUNK

I am kinda of agreeing with you. Basically the ratings for towing with ‘smaller’ SUV’s is false advertising. They can haul 5000lbs Yes. But then they are thinking of a flatbed, without any wind resistance. Tow a travel trailer and you get transmission problems.....we towed a 2500lbs tent trailer for years with our Nissan Pathfinder (2015) no problems. But now we tow a travel trailer around 3400lbs and are experiencing problems with our transmission. Not sure if it is related but it made me think about another tow vehicle.

The Premier(in the US discounted to $38K with AWD) has segment leading Twin Clutch AWD with torque vectoring and can go to the limits of it's tires and on a single traction wheel unlike Honda/Acura AWD!

@guy proulx One of them was 85k. Probably not going to make my wife run out to 150k miles. Any vehicle could have problems at those mileages though. How many vehicles even make it that far before it's been with multiple owners at this point?

Just exactly how would you know? 2018 got the new 9 speed transmission. Zero and I mean zero issues with them so far.
The 6 speed before was not a bad unit either. A few valve body issues here an there. But by no means a problem transmission.
