Ground beef is so versatile and it can be used in many amazing dishes like homemade hamburgers, tacos, lasagna, chile rellenos, picadillo con papas, and so much more.
In this video I'm going to walk you through my process of how I grind my brisket trimmings into ground beef and cover seven reasons why I grind my own ground beef. - Zábava
No idea how much brisket costs. I just look at short date meat at the store. If I can get a roast half off, I take it home and grind it. Makes amazing tacos and burgers.
brisket, or any well marbled cut will work, so buy what is on sale folks! Accountant here...I did the math, if you buy large cuts or meat or from a whole sale grocery (costco) def cheaper than already ground meat.
Arnie, When I do a double grind, I will take the first grind and form roughly shaped long "logs" that I place on a tray to firm back up in the freezer. The "log" shape will fit easily in the throat of the grinder just like the first grind cut strips and being firm from the cold, usually does not require the use of the stomper. I like to use a few ice cubes for my final push of meat out of the grinder to get the last bit out of the auger/plate area. I recently found your channel and just love your videos!
@David, thanks for the tips bud, I'm just now getting into sausage making, lots to learn still.
@@ArnieTex Oh no, be forewarned - it's addictive (sausage making). Wait until you try "snack sticks"!!!!!
Wow, great tip! I usually do not double grind just because all the stomping required.
David the logs is great tip! Thanks. I recently got a LEM #12. Amazing machine. Do you make sausage with yours or different machine?
Thanks so much for all your videos, this is my favorite cooking channel! My favorite kinda of food!
Our pleasure!
Really good video. I'm glad you shared some of the dishes you can make with ground beef. Well done! Marc T.
I used to do that too.... Brisket is the cheapest now..... Great Footage ❤️
I just bought my own grinder and love it!!
Daggummit Arnie, now ya got me lookin at grinders. 😂 Thank you for this one....def one to try. That is some purty ground.
First video I've seen of yours very awesome! Thank you
Very informative, thanks. I've been considering getting a grinder, but you've helped me decide. I am going to wait till I can afford a better one though.
First off great video ... second beautiful sharp knife I need one of those.... and finally you made me so hungry naming all the things to make with it yum.
Great presentation. We live in Idaho and we have got one of the best meats in the country and this is a great idea. Thank you.
Thank you for this video. I can't wait to start grinding my own beef.
Arnie, this is amazing. Thank you!
Just discovered your chanel and have a kitchen Aid grinder that I bought last Christmas. May be I should pull it out of the box and start using it.
Great instructional video. The only thing I do different is I divide the point from the flat and get all of my burger just from the flat. The point is just to wonderful smoked or corned by itself. Thanks Arnie.
Great video, Arnie!
Very good video brother! My new favorite channel.
Buenos Dias Arnie, what a blessing, I just got a meat grinder from my neighbor ! 🙏
That is awesome!
Pro tip at the end. Thank you.
I learned more about beef today than I thought possible. Awesome video.
Recently, i have watched many videos on grinding brisket meat. Those other ones were fine. However, I enjoyed watching Arnie explain the various grades of brisket and how he prepares for his grind.
“If you look close” brother.. zoom in.
Great video but you have made my mind up on getting the LEM #8 I was torn between the #12 but after watching your video I’m convinced all I need is the #8 thanks
Wow I just got my notice from Academy that my grinder has arrived for pickup and you post this lol. Already got my sausage stuffer. Think I’ll be busy this weekend.
You didn’t actually say it but that’s a great tip for freezing ground meat…after bagging it smash it flat just as you did. It’s easier to store and thaws faster when you need it.
Need me some more OG I’m almost out!
yes for sure, thank you
Hey Arnie, you got my grinder! Man..... I call mine Brutus. Love grinding chicken too.
Arnie, I was inspired by you and my husband and I ground a brisket this weekend and made burgers....😮😮😮 WOW they were the best burgers we have ever had. I will only grind my own from now on. I can't go back. Also, we bought the briskets at $1.97 per lb. I got a Kitchen grinder attachment for my bday and that's what we used. What type of grinder are you using?
It’s all about that ground beef baby!
Gday Arnie as an ex butcher i have always made my own mince and sausages much better quality and so much cheaper. Love the fact that you use the brisket ....im so going to give that a try. I've always used what we call chuck steak or braising steak (from neck ) cheers Mate
All great reasons, but specially reason number one.
I just ground up 6 pounds of brisket flat in less tha a minute.
Saved the 8 pound point for a roast.
The brisket was 2.46 a pound.
No need to buy expensive brisket.
Hey Arnie. LEM makes double grind attachments for your grinder now for a little over $100! Look it up. Super awesome
When I catch brisket on sale I usually buy several of them to use for grinding. Some people think what in the world would you take expensive meat and grind it for...thats not the case, especially if you catch brisket on sale you can get it for less than $2 per pound...that is way cheaper than good ground beef per pound. And like Arnie says, you know whats in it. You can even separate the fat you dont use and save it for sausage making etc.
I'd like to see you do a video on smoked jalapeno and cheddar sausages. Would you do all beef, all pork, or a blend? Thanks
My first time catching this channel and love it! I really don’t know anything about real cooking so my question is, can you marinate a brisket before grinding or is that not advisable? It does kind of seem like it wouldn’t be as versatile if you didn’t marinate it though.
I would just grind the brisket.
Hey Arnie, Do you recommend a whole brisket or can we use a point or flat and if point or flat will 80-20 still be there?
Arni i ground whole brisket. I ran through with 10mm twice. My burgers crumbled on cooking. I did not use egg, I think I should have used the 4.5 mm on second grind. Your thoughts? LEM is high qualify equipment AND support.
Brisket cost a lot more here then hamburger crazy meat prices That you for sharing your information.
What grinder would you recommend for the average kitchen?
What type of meat do supermarkets used to make ground beef?
I do this but when making burger patties how do you keep it from getting a crumbly texture?
What kind of grinder would you recommend I want to make my own sausages or chorizo? Thank you I love your videos!!
My LEM.
X2 on a LEM "big bite" model. Arnie's is a #8 and I have the #12 which is a little bit bigger and more power. You can catch some decent sales this time of year if you watch their site and Amazon. LEM is not cheap, but it's well made.
What race of cow did you use ? Witch part of the beef did you use ?
Made me hungry when he mentions all the foods.
No pink slime is the best reason to grind your own beef
Horale Arnie ❤
En México cuál seria amigo es el pecho?
Thumbs up
What kind of grinder? TIA
I noticed in one of your other videos a Recteq in the background. How you like it?
Love it, thats the RT 700, its a beast
🙌🏽❤️❤️❤️
Roughly what percent fat would this brisket be in this video?
What grinder is that
LEM #8 I believe. A very good well made grinder.
Best burger you will ever eat is a fresh ground mix of 50% fatty brisket and 50% lean round. Grind it up twice and patty it out. Its insanely good.
Lean round? Did you mean somethimg else?
@@llaverick7739 No I mean beef round. Top round as its sometimes called or beef round. Its very lean and flavorful but not juicy on its own. The fat and flavor from the brisket takes care of the juice.
@@jgn1977 Oh I see, I wasn't sure what that meant, I don't really know about the types of cuts. Thanks for the clarification. Any other tips on making the burger good?
@@jgn1977 Also what lean to fat ratio do you think is good?
Ground beef bread! 🤣🤣🤣
jajajaja
Congrats on the new mile stone! The delicious food deserves it aha.
He knows meat
I do this with grass fed goat, grass fed brisket, with grass fed organs
Deer ground meat
Why you don’t grill a burger to see the result of you grind beef 🫣
