    In addition to my question below about why the OEM bolts can't be used for the rear mount, I was very confused about trying to figure out why the upper right lip on the skid plate was contacting the catalytic converter protection plate keeping the front mounting holes on the skid plate from lining up on the R and L brackets. Finally looking closer at your video I saw that you removed this catalytic converter protection plate. There's nothing that I can see in your video about this. Additionally, there's nothing in the video about mounting the linkage guard. (Which of course is a no brainer, but still think it could have been added to the video.) And finally, the hardware included a small package of eight tiny concave shaped washers. Nothing in the video about this also or what they're for.
    Thank you

    It looks like I have a brand new one with an added rear piece to the unit. Could you guys possibly update your installation video for that new piece?

    If i have oem center stand.. what bolts is supposed to be used in the rear side to mount the skid plte?

  • @LATAMbiker
    @LATAMbiker Před rokem

    Why can't I use the two OEM bolts on the right side of the bike to install the brace? They fit fine. Same question for the left side but I have the OEM centerstand so for me the left side isn't applicable.

    On the top part why is that bend needed pointed at the Cat and the engine?
    Isn’t it more reasonable to just leave it straight up for added protection or just cut it off?
    Any serious hit and it goes through the cat or into the engine…
    Just my $0.02 since no one else is doing that.

    It looks like here in the U.S. we inherited the Euro5 emission system on the 2022 TENERE (too bad). So this is the skid/bash plate to get if you have a 2022 on order.😎

      @Outbackmotortek  Před 2 lety

      Yes, that’s what I’ve found on the Yamaha USA website as well. The Euro 5 model is coming to North America in 2022. We’ll update our websites accordingly.

    Do you have any news about the availability of this beauty?
    I'm from Italy, on the italian site seems like the skidplate available is not the euro 5.
    Thank you

      Our Italian dealer has ordered Euro 5 skid plate. We should send a shipment to them in about 2-3 weeks.

    Is it safe to lift the bike on the plate? Manual says no but some say the do it all the time at least with after-market skid plates.

    • @Outbackmotortek
      @Outbackmotortek  Před 3 lety +1

      It can be done with care and caution. We do it too sometimes. It's definitely worth placing a thick and wide wooden board between the skid plate and hydraulic jack.

      @Outbackmotortek  Před rokem +1

      @@alcon1427 no, we have been supplying the new version skid plate with the linkage guard for about 3-4 months now. That’s roughly since 2022 October/November.

    Are these compatible with full heed bunker crashbars ?

    • @Outbackmotortek
      @Outbackmotortek  Před 2 lety

      It’s confirmed to be compatible with Outback Motortek crash bars. We don’t test fit other companies’ products. Sometimes we find out about fitment of other aftermarket products from customers.

    • @barteksotyszewski8930
      @barteksotyszewski8930 Před 2 lety +1

      No, this skid plate is not compatible with full heed bunkers. You will need to cut about 2 cm from left skid plate side and use longer screws (like for center stand).

    Awww.... How very kind of you to skip out of showing us the hernia enducing longbolt removal. Sparing us the cold, hard truth are you?? 😌
    Fun fact: your audience actually WANTS to see the tough, annoying parts. A guide is good but a raw, step by step uncut guide is the absolute hands down BEST.. Everything included... The brain farts, mistakes and frustration if it's there lol.. All of it guys. Believe it or not it helps your viewers engage with the video much better than a perfect cut. Just saying... I snapped off and broke my adapter trying to remove the long bolts. And while i should have stopped while i was ahead, a warning would have beem super appreciated. Not blaming you. I can stand on my own mistakes like a man.. Just.. Help a new guy out a bit will ya?

      Yeah I find that when I am following these guides, and installing a part on my own bike, it never goes as smooth as they shown in the video.
