Shimo was an interesting character, everyone sort of expected her to be the be-all-end it all monster for Godzilla to fight, instead she is just misunderstood and forced to do Skar Kings bidding. I do not know if Shimo is actually as strong as Ghidorah or Mecha Godzilla. If she does appear in future films, she could be a great ally towards Destroyah, as his big weakness seems to be cold temperatures. If they all defeat him she might be the one who delivers the killing blow. By freezing his wings, causing them to collapse, then Godzilla goes nuclear and blows him up. But possibly die himself from all the radiation. If he cannot die, then Kong will probably sacrifice himself.
Or Shimo might die. We don’t know who will die, but all we know is it’s going to be a very important character for the sake of the lore.

I think you’re incorrect on this one. My interpretation was Godzilla was referring to Sylla. She challenged him in one of the graphic novels. And in the novel, she was going around to various energy sources and devouring them. I think Sylla woke up Godzilla, but when he got the distress call from the Hollow Earth he knew it was Shimo and the Skar King. Because Shimmo did not move from her imprisonment against the scar king until Kong reached the living caves. Shimmo was the alpha Titan. She beat Godzilla which allowed her to start the ice age. Then when she was captured by the Skar King and Godzilla was able to imprison those two ge (Godzilla) became the alpha titan.

Perhaps that vendetta Shimo has/had against Godzilla might be/have been to do with the Anguirus skeleton we saw back in Godzilla's pre-nuked temple in King of the Monsters. Shimo does look a lot like she was meant to be the Legendary paraphrase of the "Anguirus Hound" that was reportedly meant to have been one of the original Guardian Monsters (Baragon, Varan, and Anguirus) protagonists in Toho's "Giant Monster All-out Attack" movie.

I KNEW I WAS NOT THE ONLY ONE! I read some parts of the novel, including Godzilla's thoughts. and almost everything he says in the video is in the novel almost at the beginning, however right there Godzilla describes "the menace" as having 6 legs.

As others have mentioned, this is about Scylla, not Shimo. Godzilla didnt know Shimo was a threat until he recieved the SOS signal. Pretty sure Godzilla did lose to Shimo since the ice age successfully happened. That was her duty as part of nature's balance. We know she's passive by nature, so after her job was done, she retired to Hollow Earth. It's clear by the efforts Godzilla went to prepare to fight her again how much she worried him.
Why did the narrator say, "did godzilla finally win a fight with out help?"... sure he has help before but he wins a lot on his own as well. Odd comment
In every movie he's been in, there was some sort of intervention. He takes home the wins but the only fight he's won without any kind of intervention on his behalf was the Tasmin Sea battle with Kong. The intervention there was on the behalf of Kong instead.
2014: the Muto nest blowing up distracted the Mutos who were double-teaming Goji and thoroughly whipping his ass. So human intervention helped him win the day. He could handle them one-on-one no problem but when the two were together, the numbers game in addition to their EMP ability disabling his atomic breath a bit put Goji in a bit of a bind. Plus in 2014, he had been hibernating or crusing around the world (as seen in Monarch) with few large scale fights. So he had a bit of ring rust.
2019: This is a bit of a laundry list. First, the Oxygen Destroyer being deployed nearly killed Goji right there in Mexico, requiring human intervention to bring him back from the brink. Next, he was whipping Ghidorah pretty good (with some military backup) but he was also a ticking time bomb and Ghidorah ended up overpowering him eventually. He was then dropped from low orbit and because he was getting close to critical mass, Mothra stepped in to pull the sacrifice card and her ashes helped stabilize him and give him a power boost. So he had both human and Titan intervention to help him win.
GvK: Godzilla didn't start running into problems until Hong Kong. He fought Kong with no intervention but the second Mecha-G entered the picture, the tide started to turn. Goji had used too much of his power drilling to the Hollow Earth because he was pissed at Kong and the subsequent battle with him. Mecha-G (who was really just Ghidorah's consciousness stuffed into a metal suit and revived through the Hollow Earth energy) took advantage of that to lay some serious smackdown on an already exhausted Godzilla. He won because Kong intervened and they put their differences aside to take care of a larger threat. So Goji needed Titan intervention again to win and it was a victory for Kong as well.

The thing I found most interesting in the movie is when the crystal was broken, Shemo looked at Godzilla as if she was waiting for direction. Godzilla roared at her & then she iced Scar King. That to me shows she understands & recognizes Godzilla as King
I was watching another breakdown on they had mentioned that one of the iwi legends that Godzilla may have actually been the gojira that ate a star and turns him into space Godzilla which made him go kinda crazy but also made him way more powerful but later on somehow returned to normal self. I haven’t seen the movie yet but if that happens to be true then that could’ve been how he defeated her the first time. Which sort of makes sense when consider that he thought he needed to power up to defeat her in The New Empire.

Here’s a really rogue theory: What if Shimo and Godzilla’s first fight was something similar to a friend or sibling rivalry? Where they fight and then hold a grudge for a long time after. Maybe Shimo was being the bigger Titan and let Godzilla win, but was still annoyed/angry at him.

If King Ghidorah was frozen by Shimo yet Godzilla king of jumping cant 1v1 without help, I believe there must be information not yet released regarding Shimo letting Godzilla be Alpha to retire but Scar King ending up capturing her during her hibernation or something.

Godzilla could have became the Gojira that swallowed a star. This could explain how he powered up and it is something we haven't seen. We have heard of it.
I wonder if Godzilla had more than just Rodan and Mothra as allies (and likely Anguirus too)--I wonder if when there were more gojira titans, they hung around Godzilla and helped him out when he needed like against Shimo and Ghidorah (though I think it's stated that he's alone with Mothra and maybe Rodan against Ghidorah). Like Dagon or someone like that, or even Godzilla's own parents. I really hope we get to see how "weakened" and "young" Godzilla still was able to stay on top for millions of years, and where all the gojira went besides just "the kong gojira war wiped everyone out" because lame we want to see it!

If they say she is starting to grow stronger then that just means at the point in the past when the two fought and godzilla won in such a way that she wont challenge him anymore and was made a example of then id say he was stronger back in the first fight. Just as Godzilla grew stronger in this film id say Shimo went about a similar transformation herself do to scar king wanting the surface and probably revenge against godzilla for trapping him and his people down there.
But regardless she was weaker in the last fight, they are super charged in the current fight. Godzilla > Shimo in past, Godzilla = Shimo modern.
From what we know Godzilla is still canonically 252 million years old. Shimo is stated to be at least 3 million years old. So likely 3-5 Million in age (as otherwise you would say a higher number). So when they first fought millions of years ago Shimo was likely very young, very hungry and growing quickly in power. Maybe she saw Godzilla as just a threat to her feeding on the energy she wanted and they fought. Its likely why he let her live the first time. Because she was a young titan who wasn't really challenging to rule, but wanted to feed and was throwing the world out of sync by doing so. So more so he was teaching her her place in the world by stopping her feeding frenzy and driving her into the hollow earth, not realizing Shimo could be controlled by Scar King because she was now young and weakened from her fight with Godzilla.

I still like the idea that shimo used a ton of her power causing the ice age, probably feeling the world needs a reset and for titans to hiberanate. Godzilla thinking she was going way out of her boundraries fought her and basically shimo tapped out after some fighting not wanting to risk death. i wish they left it a mystery if she knew about ghidorah so it would be she felt she had to go all out with the ice age to stop him and basically the other titans felt she went too far so that it mirrors godzilla more. because Godzilla came about because of nuclear bombs (irl) and we now agree that it was too far and lead to more fears of destruction. so having shimo basically doing a nuke level attack that caused the world to have the ice age was so dangerous that all the titans basically said never again. That it was a last resort we should never do again because it is too destructive. Just like how scar king seems to be in some way a reference to willis o brian's wild willie from The Dinosaur and the Missing Link which later lead to him doing the effects for king kong.
Wait isn't shimu like 3 mil years old and godzilla is much older. Also it doesn't make sense while this young can do planetary level attack but looses to a weaker godzilla. Either shimu was doing 1v10 against other titan (which would explain shimu doing a aoe atk instead of a concentrated atk) or godzilla is just yapping

When they visited the tribe the wall paintings showed a Godzilla with wings (an iteration of space Godzilla?). Maybe Godzilla OD’d on Hollow Earth Radiation and became the mad titan. When fighting Shimo he depleted that energy and came back to his senses. Maybe, just maybe, that is how he beat shimo. I think we will see this evolution of Godzilla in the next movie if he goes up against Destroya. Just a thought. 😅

I have no idea about who would win between Godzilla and shimo.
it's heavily implied they fought in the past and we have hardly any knowledge of who won, on one hand shimo most likely won as she coused the first ice age something Godzilla most likely tried to stop.
on the other hand Godzilla most likely won do to shimo being trapped in the hollow earth alongside skar kings army, and if Godzilla lost he most likely would've amped himself for a big rematch yet never rematched her and he became king of the monsters even though he couldn't beat her which makes no sense.
the other thing is Godzilla most likely won as Godzilla survived the astroid and fought Ghidorah in the past along side mothra and roden, so i highly doubt he never rematched her if he lost.
which actually brings this up Godzilla needed help from mothra and roden in the past to beat Ghidorah and is stated to be the reason Ghidorah was frozen, this indicates Godzilla eather beat shimo on his own and didn't need help or mothra wasn't able to help Godzilla, couse with king Ghidorah Godzilla needed all the help he could get to beat him in the past and in kotm.

the main problem with Godzilla beating shimo is that evolved Godzilla struggled to stop her so if he beat her in the past, how come he needed to evolve to face her?.
