Not only is the title and plot an obvious nod to Godzilla's Monster Island, but the head of Shin Godzilla himself makes a brief cameo within the episode. Hanna-Barbera probably had very little freedom when adapting Godzilla given that he has different abilities that use fire, and that no other Toho kaiju show up in the show.

In the Chilean program 31 minutos exist a recurring character named Dinosaurito which is simply a Godzilla 98 toy used as a puppet.
He is a living fossil that works in the National Museum of Natural History of Chile.
So that's where zilla jr went after 1998 series
I am so thankfull for Godzilla Minus One.
It made me realize that there have been decades of media that I had no idea about besides the 98 film and may some vague glimpses into the monster verse. Then I watched Shin, and I've been hooked since.

@@sunumaudio Godzilla movies date back to 1954, with the first American Godzilla movie not coming out until 1998. That's 70 years of mostly Japanese Godzilla movies. Most of the movies are campy sci-fi flicks where Godzilla fights other monsters. "Godzilla: Minus One" is the exception, not the norm, when it comes to the vast majority of Godzilla movies. You have a lot of Godzilla history to catch up on, son.

I think the implication of the King Cesaer line is meant to mean "his awakening is so great that it will wake up and attract more monsters" not the he can literally summon and control monsters
Maybe there were more Kaiju akin to KC that are guardians he could awaken if given the time to do so. Maybe he’s the control unit to a number of other guardian statues.
Additional information about Mega Godzilla:
The design of the armor was later used in the Titan Tech Godzilla figure. Almost every detail is the same between the snap-on Mega Godzilla armor and the transforming armor of Titan Tech Godzilla, except that it's blue instead of red. For a while it was assumed that the 11 inch lights-and-sounds "Mega Heat-Ray Godzilla" was the final version of the toy, despite having few similarities other than being Godzilla and having "Mega" in the name.
More info, this time on the Millennium Era:
The idea that the 1998 movie was solely responsible for making Toho make the Millennium movies is a major misconception. Their original intent after vs. Destoroyah was to let the franchise rest for a decade until 2004 (especially since they had so many scrapped movies from the mind 90's!), then bring the movies back in 2004.
Another unfortunate fact is that almost none of the Millennium films did well at the box office. Every movie in the series is a stand-alone film (except Tokyo SOS) because none of them did well enough to warrant a sequel (except Against Mechagodzilla). Final Wars got that name because, again, Toho decided to put Godzilla on hiatus due to poor ticket sales.
But we can thank Legendary for the Reiwa films - 2014 did so well that it convinced Toho to make a new film sooner than originally planned, and then both Shin and Minus One made absolute bank.
Titan tech Godzilla's design isn't really that similar to mega Godzillas but they pretty much have the same concept so you could be right

The thing about the strange robot-replica of Sonic in Sonic Adventure being a reference to Mechagodzilla 1 instead of being Mecha Sonic from Sonic 2 makes more sense when you look carefully to the designs.

This was a surprise for me when the video popped up in my recommended, as I saw the previous two that you made. And this is certainly an improvement over the both of them! Great job, dude! Even taught me somethings I didn't know about, and as you can tell by my pfp, I am a massive Godzilla fan! So, it's nice to know more about it. :)
As for the question at the end, my favorite non main 5 + Anguirus kaiju has to be Titanosaurus. There's just something I always liked about him as a kid, could be the red coloring he had (red's my favorite color), his fish-like dinosaur appearance, or just the fact he was playable in Godzilla unleashed. I really couldn't say, could be all 3 for all I know lol. Regardless, he's remained my favorite obscure Godzilla kaiju, and I really hope that they'll use him in something again. (Same goes for all the other ones too. Especially the less powerful ones like Gorosaurus, Varan, and Baragon. Hoping they can appear in the Monsterverse.)

this may be a weird choice, but i actually think the MUTOs from Godzilla 2014 are my favorite Godzilla kaiju who aren't the big 5 + Anguirus. i like how weirdly alien they look but they don't look too alien, their designs strike the perfect balance of being weird but being something that could've roamed the planet millions of years ago. the sound design for them is absolutely fucking terrifying especially the noises the female MUTO makes when she's checking her nest after Ford Brody blew it to high hell.
another thing i think is interesting about the MUTOs is that they only wanted to reproduce, the reason why i find that interesting is because their motives are extremely unique compared to the other Monsterverse villain kaiju. King Ghidorah wanted to kill Godzilla and make the earth his domain (also i think the novelization for KOTM said Ghidorah wanted the power source in the Hollow Earth), Mechagodzilla was only out to kill Godzilla and Scar King just wanted to rule the surface world because his ego is so big i guess

Unless I missed it somewhere in the video, I take it you haven't seen that massive crossover live show from 1996 that had Godzilla, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, and Super Sentai all team up? Clips used to be on Twitter but I think the OP deleted their account or the posts and the only YT upload of the clips has a guy talk about it at the beginning and end of the video. Anyways, loved listening to this while grinding out some FF7 Rebirth!
