As illustrated in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla had a "queen", Mothra. In this latest movie, Mothra has returned. Godzilla is king of the surface, while Kong is king of Hollow Earth, Shimo may very well be his "queen".

As soon as I saw Shimo in the movie, I fell in love with her. I think she's an amazing Titan and just wants peace. I am happy that they both, Kong and Shimo now got each other's back, just like Godzilla has Mothra as his biggest ally.
I mean it truly makes sense when ya look at both the novel and movie. Kong saw the pain in shimo’s eyes and when they were back in what is now kong’s new home. She let him pet her, showing she is loyal and now Kong’s biggest friend and a big ally to him

Shimo is an original Legendary character unlike Rodan so they don't need to pay for licensing. But she is the first MV original Kaiju to achieve "god level' status in the Monsterverse, she can probably rank right up there with Ghidorah, Mecha Godzilla, Space Godzilla, Destroyah and Monster X as the most powerful of all Kaiju.

She decided to return to the only place she knew for several centuries. She's can't live on the surface because she would mess with our weather patterns. She bonded with Kong and will reside with the Great Apes under the rule Kong who is now King of the "Great Apes and Ruler of the Hollow Earth. It makes sense that Kong wanted to set her free versus fighting her, not just on the power difference, but that in the film Kong was always on the defensive around Shimo. Either choosing to evade or using his glove to block her ice attacks.

One thing I’ve learn about Kong is that, physically, he’s the most powerful titan just in arms alone.
Goji has to use his whole body to throw others around kinda like a sumo wrestlers while Kong only in arms can handle other titans like a bodybuilder that learned proper striking.
I think the next godzilla movie is going to have a dark side to it but will end up with shumu and kong rescuing godzilla

Mothra can knock down Godzilla and other Titans but doesn't have the capabilities to kill any large Titan. Mothra is only the" Queen of the Titans" that Godzilla controls. She has no place with Kong and his Great Apes hierarchy and Shimo. Remember that Mothra now is "Defender" of the Iwi and ally to Godzilla. Kong is "God" to the Iwi. It's unique how Mothra and Kong are now interwined.

@@tylerk.hadaller7939 Suko destroyed the crystal, but he wouldn't have if Kong didn't influence him with compassion and kindness. Suko stood up to Skar King instead of being afraid of him. If it weren't for Kong, Suko wouldn't have changed. Plus, Kong was the only who was actively trying to get the crystal while Godzilla didn't even bother destroy it when it was close to him.

I can definitely see her holding back at the first interaction. He held that axe for a bit before dropping it but when she froze scar king it was pretty fast.
I wonder if Shimo's species once had a symbiotic bond to the Apes like the one Godzilla and Mothra have? Or if such a bond will be formed between the two now? Once Skar King's crystal is out of the equation, she couldn't turn on the abusive bastard fast enough. You'd think after so long enslaved by one of the great apes, the last thing she'd want is to immediately go back to where she was once a prisoner; let alone willingly serve as Kong's mount.

they're making Godzilla out to just be a dick at this rate. Just mindless doing whatever. Ignoring the fact he's just doing his job, protecting the Earth and making sure the other titans stay in line and continue to help the earth. Scylla for example is titled a destroyer titan like ghidorah. Scylla was loyal to ghidorah because of it and only kneeled to godzilla at the end of king of the monsters for her own benefit and survival. It was her job to keep the ice caps frozen. But she plotted to take down godzilla and take his place as the alpha titan, taking radiation from power plants and so on. Godzilla was only tolerating her but was aware of what she was doing. She stepped out of line when she started to melt the ice caps instead of keeping them cold and then she attacked the city and at that point Godzilla was done with her and killed her. That's why he did that in the beginning of the movie. A loose end tied up. In a novel godzilla protected Beheamoth cause his shit helps forests grow back so despite his judgement of not wanting to get involved in the fight he intervened and saved him due to his importance. He only attacked humans when they attacked him, a titan attacking a sub for its radiation and godzilla got involved but the humans started shooting at him instead which prompt him to fight back.
In Godzilla vs Kong he wasnt a villain. He just got the alpha calls from mechagodzilla, it was a threat to him and he did NOT like it. He only went to the cities looking for ghidorah and or mechagodzilla, whatever the source of the alpha call was. He didnt attack humanity for the hell of it. He was searching, asserting his dominance as the alpha titan of Earth.
But in Godzilla X Kong he got not only little screen time but was shown to be a brute who attacked kong just because. Only coming down to Mothra to calm him down and get him to help in the fight. Otherwise he'd kill kong right then and there. This ISN'T how Godzilla is. He's not evil, he's not a mindless monster. He's protecting the Earth and doing his job. He fights threats, he's the reason the skar kings reign came to an end cause he trapped them. Sure Shimo was also stuck as a victim of skar king but better than skar king conquering Earth. Without godzilla things would of taken a turn for the worst
Why did he hate Kong tho in the GvK ? I mean I saw him there more like a dick than the 2024 movie cause he attacked him on a boat with the chains on and I still don't know why ? I mean he surely saw that it was humans trapping him and helpless ?
Godzilla attacked Kong for a reason. Near the beginning of the movie, it was said that the two agreed to live in peace "as long as they don't venture into each other's territories". That means Kong needed to stay in the Hollow Earth while Godzilla ruled the surface. When Kong came up to look for him, he broke that rule, and Godzilla was likely already riled up from having to take out two troublemakers in a row (Scylla and Tiamat) *while* the Iwi's distress call was ringing in his mind. Kong understandably defended himself, and managed to briefly stun Godzilla, however because of that, Godzilla now fully deemed Kong as a threat (plus he already had a personal bias against the great apes because of the past war, and not to mention the time he got kicked out of his old home by one of them when he was younger) and decided he had enough of him. Indeed, had it not been for Mothra, Kong would be dead, but Godzilla wasn't senselessly out to get him.
He's only a mindless monster to those who don't look into the details to try and understand his actions, and he's been misunderstood since the beginning.
Godzilla is a veteran of the last war against Skar King. He knows how much damage that Skar King's followers can do, not to mention he knows Shimo is now a slave to Skar King.
In GvK, when Mechagodzilla was letting out an autotuned version of Ghidorah's alpha call, he was worried other titans would listen to it. With Kong, he was worried that the last son of the Skull Island apes was an ally of Ghidorah, and now an enemy. That is why he fought Kong, to make him submit to the true king of the Titans and ensure he was not an ally of Ghidorah.
As for Scylla and Tiamat in New Empire, both were disloyal ajd threatening humans, not to mention he was not in the mood to take his time in evicting Tiamat from her new home, especially when she was a potential threat.
When Kong came up to the surface, after the two basically had a treaty in place of Kong ruling Hollow Earth, Godzilla the surface, he was again thinking Kong was a follower of Skar King, and so moved to execute him.
He is definitely not Ghidorah, but he is not above executing other titans if needed. And I personally see what he did in New Empire before the climax as him acting almost on impulse, trying to gain more power for the war he knew was coming. Now that Mothra is back, chances are he'll be more benevolent nowz especially with her around to help keep the titans in check.
I can see Godzilla's brutality here, but Scylla had it comming after 2 rounds with Godzilla before the move, in the comics, and Godzilla did blast the ice to get Tiamat out of it, he even roared at her after that. She could had left, but she desided to figth, and you know what happened then.
Godzilla was more angrier in this movie yes, but he was busy with getting powered up, and he only after blood on Scylla and kong. (Tiamat was given a chance to leave, why he didnt blast her the second she came out, and roared first)

I honestly quite like it. Kong's kindness and empathy is what sets him apart. Totally makes sense that his first instinct was to help Shimo and that he really doesn't go after her in the movie (outside of the attempts to free her). And it's what gained him such good allies in this last movie. No doubt that Shimo will be of huge help for any unexpected drama waiting in the future. Both of them have been through a lot and yet now can find a sense of belonging as allies.
It hypes me up for the future. The status quo has gotten really interesting with Kong now having a people of his own in Hollow Earth and a calm and fairly peaceful ally in Shimo. He's happier than he's ever been.
Shimo And Kong shows empathy to one another, and shimo knows that Kong is trying to help her so Shimo does have intelligence
I’m praying we get a Godzilla x Kong movie with Destroyah. That would be a great movie because Destroyah is one of if not the most powerful Titan, since he’s made of millions of organisms. Like I feel that would be a very difficult but very amazing movie

I was expecting so much from this movie.
But sadly it was just Godzilla preparing for a Tagteam match, and Underutilized Villian as well as reducing Shimo to just a pet.
Basically this was just a Kong movie with Side characters.
Kong rules by respect and compassion, godzilla rules by power, and the scar king ruled by cruelty
I mean you can argue since the axe can tank Godzilla’s beam it could be nerfing Shimo’s breath in some due to a random special property but yeah I agree the she was holding back makes more sense.

Rather than having enough resistance, will and thought to hold back, I'd prefer to think this, since Skar King deliberately kept all the other Great Apes weaker than him, I imagine he *tried* to do the same to Shimo, but kept her strong and healthy enough to be a viable weapon.

Actually now that you mention it we do see Shimo almost effortlessly freeze Godzilla in a cocoon of ice yet she didn’t do that to Kong.
I still think or believe, Godzilla is Shimo's child..., but something happened that separated them or Godzilla doesn't remember her or something. Shimo's face when Godzilla clears the sky, that look was a PROUD and Aww look...,

I do enjoy the show but I kinda want a more intimidating monster.
Imagine if these four titans duke it out near Oxygen bomb develop facility instead of the fighting in Rio. Godzilla accidentally blast his atomic breath into the facility creating a chain reaction and blow up Scar King. Yes everything going the same way at first. Shimo x Kong roam the hollow earth Godzilla x Mothra roam the surface... But then during a credit scene they zoom into the research facility and show a piece of meat regenerating and slowly creating a cacoon, a Red cacoon with a tiny creature with glowing red eyes inside it.
I kinda want more OG to appear. OG like Destroya or Biolante.

It was honestly a huge let down how little shimo or Godzilla did. Their fight was like 2 minutes of Godzilla shoulder ramming her then it was over.
It's hilarious how at first fans believed that Kong would be afraid of Shimo in their first encounter (this caused by the trailers of course) in the end while Kong never showed fear of facing Shimo (to the point of wanting to help her) Godzilla was the one who was afraid of Shimo (as explained in the novel)
Since his first appearance on Skull Island, the monsterverse have made it clear to us that Kong is not afraid to face any opponent even bigger than him. From facing Skull Devil in his adolescence to facing Godzilla and even if he lost to him, he didn't bow to him.
