  • The Asetek Invicta Pedals belong to the best simracing eqipment ChampionJoe has ever tested - they even made him a better driver on track. But there was one big issue that made the pedals not for him. Which issue it was and whether the pedals could still be perfect for you, you will learn in this video.
    Have you tried these pedals yet? Let us know in the comments! 👇✍️

    These pedals stimulate what a brake feels like in the pits, not while racing. Real race care drivers have spoken about the brakes feeling like a brick in the pits but when driving the brake feels a lot softer because of the inertia pushing on your leg which helps to load the pedal. Sometimes replicating realistic numbers can create an unrealistic environment.

    • @kontoname
      @kontoname Před 10 měsíci +6

      Can you please provide measurements and formulas for that rubbish claim? If you believe the g-force pushes a drivers brake I don't know what else to say. Maybe they also hold on to the steering wheel so they don't get thrown out the window during cornering then?
      Maybe some of those drivers should've taken a physics class instead. If inertia pushes the break for them, strapped into full frame carbon seats, maybe they can also generate electricity from looking into the mirror.
      But fine, so in other words: buying full frame carbon seats for sim rigs is ok. Buying stupid fire proof FIA licensed racing gloves is ok. Buying racing shoes is okay. Some very respected members even sitting there in full suits is okay. Brands hyping their "true to real" equipment or even advertising with "real driver" crap is also fine.
      But buying pedals that are a bit harder to push is not fine anymore.
      Gotcha.
      It's funny how the simracing community can't make any sense at all.

    Yeah using shoes with the Asetek Invicta is almost a must imo. Tried myself to not use socks when i got used to them, but quickly switched over to shoes.
    Have also seen people use sandles, tho havent tried that yet, but that could help with the summer heat 😄

    Interesting view, but here is my hot take:
    I think if you are the kind of person to actually spend big bucks on Hydraulic Pedals, then you are probably the kind of person that usually wears racing boots when simracing.
    I used to get holes in my socks with just Logitech pedals...
    I'm very much just a hobbyist simmer and I use the MOZA CRP set now and I personally found just socks un-drivable.
    Instead, I got a pair of Sparco Karting boots and they do the trick, what ever the weather.
    I understand Champion Joe's issues, I just don't think they align with someone paying cash money for them.

    Love Asetek products period! They nailed it..got to test the La Prima and Invicta both absolutely brilliant and think that's how a direct drive should feel now..I game on PC/console because of my son he races but console only so I buy products that are PC/console comp. it's a shame that Asetek has ignored the console players as well as Thrustmaster, I have A LOT of Thrustmaster gear that I have over the years Ferrari SF1000 T-LCM pedals etc... That just went to the way side when I went Fanatec F1 podium well now thrust came out with a DD but of course no console support, why does console get looked over so much?

    Whenever I race, I use the shoes, but definitely not on a casual drive / learning the track / dusting off... these pedals are hardcore. Appeals a lot to the ones who love to race, and looks to me the most realistic pedals you can get out of a real race car... but eh, with my Moza SR-P with the stiffest springs, I am happy, but I definitely want to try the load-cell throttles.

  • @rickdubbink

    The one problem I have with my Forte's is that they're sooo angled forwards, and I have them all the way backwards with the pedalplate all the way tilted back too. Makes it uncomfy sometimes

  • @vicibrahim7263
    @vicibrahim7263 Před 9 měsíci

    I'm very new to sim racing, i got the la prima bundle as my first set. The brake is essentially the forte brake and face plate. I can use it with socks, slippers and even barefoot and it feels fine to me, no discomfort. Using the standard elastomer sent with it fitted. Only caveat would be I've been wearing barefoot shoes for a while and do martial arts which involves a fair amount of kicking.

  • @SuperLongdongjohn
    @SuperLongdongjohn Před 10 měsíci

    I went for the long travel kit and changed to the Forte face plate only at the throttle pedal. I wanted to change the pedal face because I like some slip at the throttle not because of pain on my feet. Driving with shoes is fine for me because it is a sim ;)

  • @tobiwankentobi1982
    @tobiwankentobi1982 Před 10 měsíci +1

    I agree on the part that the pedals are not friendly towards sock drivers. But I managed to customize them to be perfectly driveable with socks. 1. Softest elastomer 2. Long travel kit 3. HRS pedal face pads, because of their size, these are much more comfortable than the Forte pedal pads. Then I calibrated them to be at 67bar pressure at 100% of my brake force. Could go more, but this feels right to me. This way at around 60-70% brake force the THORP system enters the second stage. So I can use this for non-ABS cars to better feel when lockup might be imminent. Works like a charm. But with quite some extra money.
    Mind you, I've got the Invicta S pedals, the seperate version. But aside from this the pedals are technically the same as the "standard" Invictas. Love 'em.
    But if you want more than 15mm pedal travel, probably go for the other brands, VRS for example.

      @OverTake_gg  Před 8 měsíci +1

      From my own experience, I can confirm that you have to get used to the stiffness (depending on what pedalset you came from) but in the end, it helped me at least to be able to be way finer with the brake input than before. But I also have to admit that I always race with shoes, so the plate etc. aren´t really an issue for me - Rene

    "the brake can withstand 396 pounds, which for normal people is 880 kilograms"
    This is a very simple mistake that should have been caught: you did the conversion backwards. 396kg would be 880lbs. The 396lb weight limit actually equates to 180kg.

    I have these and they are the best pedals I have ever used, after fine tuning them to get the perfect position and then get muscle memory built up I ended up wining 3 races on iRacing in one week, all tracks that require good trail braking in the Gen 4 and Arca car. so to me these are 100% worth purchasing. I alos love how they feel exactly like brakes feel in a real car when you have manual brakes (No Vacuum boost)

      It is down to preference probably. Jonas had some valid points here but I currently use the Invicta (as Jonas didn´t liked them) and I agree with you, they are absolutely amazing and gave me a good feel straight from the get go. But I am also always racing with the same shoes that I use for rL races, so I don´t have the issue with the footrest - Rene
