CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Bond (Daniel Craig) chases Mollaka (Sebastien Foucan) across every obstacle imaginable.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Actor Daniel Craig assumes the role formerly occupied by such screen greats as Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and Timothy Dalton to set out on the character's very first 007 mission. James Bond has earned his "00" status by masterfully executing a pair of death-defying professional assassinations. Now assigned the task of traveling to Madagascar to spy on notorious terrorist Mollaka (Sebastien Foucan) for his maiden voyage as a 007 agent, Bond boldly goes against MI6 policy to launch an independent investigation that finds him traversing the Bahamas in search of Mollaka's notoriously elusive terror cell. Subsequently led into the company of the mysterious Dimitrios (Simon Abkarian) and his exotic girlfriend, Solange (Caterina Murino), Bond soon realizes that he is closer than ever to locating well-guarded terrorist financier Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), the man who has personally bankrolled some of the most prevalent terrorist organizations on the planet. When Bond learns that Le Chiffre is planning to partake in an upcoming high-stakes poker game to be played at Montenegro's Le Casino Royale and use the winnings to establish his financial grip on the globe, M (Judi Dench) assigns beguiling agent Vesper (Eva Green) the task of watching over the fledgling agent as he plays against Le Chiffre in a covert attempt to destroy the nefarious gambler's well-established monetary stronghold in the underworld once and for all. Bond will need more than his legendary gambling skills in order to win this dangerous game, though, and after allying himself with local MI6 field agent Mathis (Giancarlo Giannini) and CIA operative Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright), the endlessly suave super-spy puts on his poker face for a high-stakes game of cards in which the stakes are not measured in dollars, but human lives.

I love the way Bond, while clearly not as talented in parkour as the guy he’s chasing, uses brawn, fitness, intelligence and determination, to get to where he needs to be in this scene
Exactly, he’s forced to improvise, and it’s brilliant!
But, Roger Moore would have been more suave and have an immaculate tuxedo at the end of it all.
Cuz bond was train in bootcamp. Not the next level advance parkour.
love how he got up the crane and down to ground level by breaking the mechanisms and riding the machine up/down. Saved a whole lot of energy and time
Well he was a rookie in this movie
Hard to believe this movie is already 15 years old. Craig has done a great job as Bond. Will be sad to see him go.
No wya damn he’s old
Time for Tom Hiddleston
So badass
yep 😔🥺😣😖😒
Yes Craig was an awesome Bond… I had my doubts with the blonde hair…. Every bond was dark haired ! but wow he blew me away with his suave portrayal of 007 these past 15 years through 5 films.
Using 7 minutes of pure actions to shape a character and distinct Daniel Craig from all previous Bonds. That's an incredible film making tutorial. Honestly one of the best movie scene ever
I totally agreed
Martin Campbell also directed Goldeneye. Two of the best Bond films of all time. Both the introductory Bond films, with Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig making their debut.
I really hope they bring him again for the next one.
I think MI 4-6 were inspired by Casino how to make one of the greatest action movies of all time
@@spacemann1425 GoldenEye was damn good but it's really outdated especially comparing with realistic Bond-Craig.But as we could see No time to die came back things from other Bond movies before Craig era so i think why not.Mission Impossible showed that he can be as Bond movie and even better so Campbell can give us battle which movie industry haven't seen before (DC vs Marvel is still growing up)
this was so good that all the others Bond movies after were just too soft compare to it
All the dislikes are just the construction workers who lost all their progress on the building
lol ^^ he needs ever lasting revenge...
it a stage dude, not a building please be calm it was meant to be destroyed ok
I know, it’s a joke
lol
@Tayyab Ahmed bruh same, I love destroy new construction building!
That was one hell of a good start of 007 franchise. Within just 7 minute opening of the film, you already quite familiar with this new James Bond - brave (the jump), smart (use his head), stubborn (never gave up) and reckless (blown up the embassy). That was a brilliant directing skill.

This random bomb maker put up more of a fight than most Bond villains.
My dad used to love this scene. He was more into the traditional bond styles where there wasn't much chases like this. But he would always talk about this scene talking about how unique and nothing like he'd ever seen. Always remember him when I watch this.
:)
May he rest
R.I.P.
The best thing is that I wasn't too happy when I heard Daniel Craigs is becoming the new Bond. Neverless as a Bond fan I went to cinema to watch Casino Royale with mixed feelings. This scene bought me instantly. I became Daniel Craig's fan in seconds :) On the No time to Die last scene I had tears in my eyes. I know it's only movie but I really will miss him as a Bond.
It took me years to accept him as Bond. I didn't think he was tall enough or suave enough. It wasn't until I brought myself to watch Skyfall and he totally blew me away. He totally owns the role and I'm sad we won't see Daniel Craig as Bond anymore.
@@frederickmendoza881 Fr idk why they don’t put younger looking men. They get old doing those movies and doesn’t look realistic at that point
@@idhsts probably the studio wants an established bankable actor. Remember Henry Cavill narrowly missed being named Bond, he just wasn't as well known in 2006.
@@frederickmendoza881 Bond actors were never superstars before they got the role. Moore was probably the only one who had a good career going.
We’re you one of those idiots sending him death threats?
I always laugh when he goes smashing though the wall instead of jumping up and through the hole
coincidentally, X-Men The Last Stand released the same year 2006 and the final fight scene involved Kittycat & Juggernaut running thru walls

OOOH YEEEEAAHH!
The thing I like most about Daniel Craig's Bond is that he's not some infallible super spy - I mean he is - but he's human. In the chase scene he tends to mess up, trip, fall, stumble. He makes mistakes, and that's what I can dig. Much more realistic and makes me appreciate him more as a character.
I agree, I think that's what they did well in these movies, if they had portrayed Bond with some immeasurable skill and was keeping up with the Parkour then the movie would have lost what it had here.
Instead he's relatable in the aspect that most of the audience can't do that, so let's just run through the wall.
hahahaha, absolutely or rather than hit the ground rolling, let's hit the ground and belly flop. He isn't better than the other dude, he just tries hella hard and perseveres.
Not to mention look damn fine in his cossie. I remember he had shite flung on him before this movie came out - calling him James Bland' - he is anything but.
Yes Bond is definitely more realistic but that has nothing to do with Craig and everything to do with the writers and changing tastes in the 21st century compared to previous generations.
Roger Moore's Bond is most faithful to Flemming's novel. Which doesn't make him the best, just the most accurate.
Daniel Craig made every actor who played Bond looks like an HR employee!!

15 years and still an incredible scene. Casino Royale is by far my favourite 007 with Daniel Craig as James Bond.
Textbook. The team that did this sequence can be proud forever. Every cut is there for a reason; every shot has an identifiable purpose and clear content. Visual storytelling at its best. Of course there are many impossible things being done, but it's still believable, and physically feels real. Steady camera work-no nauseating handheld abuse. And an indelible intro of a new and different, physically relentless Bond.
What impossible things are being done?

The James Bond actors before Daniel Craig never did anything like this before.

Yeah, mostly they used for dignified means of chasing, like tanks
This doesn't take away anything from *GoldenEye* 😼
Spencer Decker hahahah you’re serious? bond was the total badass in this sequence and yea we’ve never seen a bond be this badass
Timothy Dalton did his own stunts... and some quite scare ones as well.
Fourteen years later, I realize there was literally no reason for him to follow the guy up the crane.
Yes and no he was hoping to catch him off guard and maybe Try his best to arrest him but the smart idea 😂would of been to draw a gun and tell him to calmly climb down and cuff him

Daniel Craig is the most energetic Bond of all times . relentless , untiring, determined and Smart . this is the best scene of all his bond movies.
Admittedly the guy he's chasing is one heck of a man . where did he come up with the idea to climb that iron building
It's cool to watch but makes no sense. If you're trying to escape on foot you don't start climbing metal structures. Especially if the person chasing you most likely has a gun.

I love this iteration of Bond because it brings something new to the table that we've never seen before. He's not the suave, sophisticated, charming special agent yet; he's inexperienced, sloppy, makes alot of mistakes and he just brute forces everything, and this scene shows it in all its glory.
It's not.until Skyfall that his skills become more refined.
Casino Royale is one of the greatest films ever made, it will stand the test of time head and shoulders above every one of the other entries Craig did and maybe even the other Bond actors in general.
Daniel Craig's stuntman has gotta be remembered here
He did it himself. No stuntman for craig
You're telling Craig was the one who got kicked in the ribs and held onto a crane from that height with one hand? Or was that CGI?? If it was, it was nearly unnoticeable!

I have to admit Craig is the best bond
I agree with you but to be fair that's not exactly hard. Neither Quantum of Solace or Skyfall are anywhere near as good as Casino Royale. Its like the perfect Bond movie. Great villain, great Bond girl, great story and load of explosions and a car chase- easily best of the three Craig has done.
Exactly
JezSpice Skyfall was...just awful. So many plotholes, lack of interesting things in it...and, for fuck's sake, they kill off the most interesting character...BY HAVING HER GET TAGGED BY MISCELLANEOUS GENERIC HENCHMAN #5227.
It couldn't decide if it was Bond or Bourne, and ended up in limbo in between.
Oh, but what about a Bond film where Bond's usefulness in a post-Cold War world is questioned, and what happens when men such as Bond are cast adrift, and turn against they former comrades and masters?
We had that film. It was called Goldeneye.
hoilst I actually quite liked Skyfall. It was nowhere near as good as Casino Royale or Goldeneye (which I also think is a perfect Bond movie) but I honestly didn't think it was awful. I liked the villain Silva who I thought was the best Bond villain in years. Yeah I agree the story doesn't make much sense and Bond surviving a massive fall after getting shot does seem rather implausible and of course there is no obvious Bond Girl. However the London Underground chase, the motorbike chase and the casino fight in China made the film interesting and likeable for me anyway- gave me a laugh. Guess it was a film you shouldn't take too seriously- just go with it.

Work smart, not hard.
The entire chase is an example of that. The guy running away is faster and more agile and works much harder, but Bond is more determined and smarter. He can't match the runner's parkour abilities, but he constantly uses the environment to catch up anyway. By all accounts, the runner should have gotten away fairly easily. His physical skills surpass those of Bond, but what Bond lacks in parkour skills he made up for in awareness of his surroundings. The guy running away worked much harder at trying to get away, but Bond worked smarter to catch up to him and it paid off in the end.

As if some boring romance film was thrilling... Blahhh
That was your cue to smash. That's the literal definition of Netflix and chill LOL. 2 to 5 minutes in: bam!
This scene was well shot and directed highlighting James Bond cunning way of problem solving.
This is easily the best scene in this movie! Man this is my favorite Bond film.
This scene really defined Bond imo, because in every athletic action the 'villain' takes, Bond uses his ingenuity and wit (the long armed crane to run up, the counterweight to lift elevate himself to the top of the overhead crane, when the guy slips through that small space above the drywall whereas he smashes through it like the kool-aid man, and the final leap across the small elevator and Bond instead takes the scissor lift down). All of those things really made Bond stand out using his unique thinking to catch a physically and athletically superior foe. The chase exemplifies all of it so well and the rest of the movie also does a great job of showing his luck, which I think is another key thing Bond has going for him.
I use to watch this movie over and over as a kid. It is paced so well that it's never boring at anytime....one of the best bond films still to this day
I enjoyed both Quantum of Solace and Skyfall, but Casino Royale is just on a whole different level. Truly one of the Best Bond flicks ever.
Amazing scene. Still holds up to this day. The dude he's chasing after is Sebastien Foucan himself, one of the parkour OGs and the founder of freerun.
I like how there's always a piece of machinery that is conveniently nearby for bond to use everytime he gets left behind.
You mean it's not that way in reality? Lol
And its bulletproof 😅😅

The music perfectly fit the picture !
Craig's Bond seriously kicks ass...
Sure does! He's doing good, Craig also has great Bond movies! ;-)
It's funny how craig has wanted to get out of playing Bond from the beginning. Probably because deep down he knows he simply isn't Bond. Sure the realism is there but he is not convincing as 007. I'm sure he could've been great in the Jason Bourne movies though.
The whole point of Casino Royale was to follow the original book closely, and by extension follow the original (colder) description of Bond, which Daniel plays beautifully. This way they wouldn't just be doing yet another same-old Bond that people had grown tired of.

In my last 35 years of watching Hollywood movies , this is the best scene
Simply one of, if not THE most Nail-biting 007 Openings, ever.
From one of the most critiqued to the best bond of the new era, Casino Royale was and is truly underrated.
Guy throws gun
James Bond catches it "Am I a joke to you?"
"James Bond catches it "Am I a joke to you?"" - as he (JB) runs into the wall

This was probably my favourite scene in the film. The airport scene is a close second.
I'm more impressed with Sebastian foucan doing the jump into the elevator without wires. They only had guide wires set up for that whole scene according to Daniel Craig. Not any CGI was used.
If you watch the making of there's only 2 floors. Didn't need a wire.
This is why Casino Royale is one of my all time favourite Bond movies.
I love the parkour in this scene but it was kinda funny how bond did those things that made his travel a lot more efficient which if the other dude did he could have probably lost him
+macccerkiddd that's why bond is hired by the British government and not the other guy because of his ability to think under pressure and always use the best means possible that normal people just cant see.
+Football Chat still gave Bond a run for his money I'd say hire him anyways..... but he's dead...
+macccerkiddd Actually, the black guy would outrun Bond in the first minute, he was the one who was a lot more efficient and not to mention his moves were a lot smarter and realistic. I hated James Bond in this movie.
Bond isn't a parkour genius. He is just tough and smart. That is exactly why he broke through the wall
+TheSoloTrooper I always burst out laughing when I see him do that lol.
best non car chase scene ever filmed
Guamparrapo83
In my opinion, best chase scene of all time period(car chase or not)
Just because cars (expect for herbie) can’t really do parkour 😂

Probably the most brilliant stunt and action sequence of all times.
Among all Craig's Bond films, this scene is and will always be the most epic one.
When Daniel Craig was cast as the new James Bond I was curious as to how he would get on. I had already seen him in a few movies before it and he was a good looking guy who was in really good shape too so I was wondering how he would take to the role. Fortunatley he was brilliant. He has brought a new James Bond to the screen. He doesn't have gadgets like previous Bonds. He is a new kind of 007 and I think he is absolutely superb. He does a lot of his own stunts and so far Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace and Skyfall have all been great Bond movies with some brilliant action. He is the best Bond since Connery and I hope we have him playing 007 for a good while yet. He's made for the part!
Yeah me too. He is the best BOND!
crap that sebestian foucan is uncatchable
Definitly, he is exactly a bad guy in a tuxedo, best Bond since Sean Connery, i hope also that he will be in for decade :P. they really redux the franchise, it's more 21 century kind of action movie.
I agree with you completely about apart from one thing. Quantum of solace is a terrible movie.
sadly. it is
This scene made me pick up parkour again :)
IMHO, Craig by far was the most fit and convincing of the Bonds. Most of the others were just "pretty boys" with virtually no muscle or tone to their bodies.
Never has there been a more explosive, energetic beginning to a film... Loved it!
Actually this Bond makes an enemies to scare more and even he characterising Bond like that. Perfect Bond ever.
The first time I watched this action scene I went "whoa... bye bye Pierce Brosnan".
I confirmed that when I see the airport scene!!!
Goodbye to Roger Moore also...only good at taking hot girls to bed.
@@shaifan5443 Well goodbye indeed, cuz Roger Moore is no more.... RIP
It's the best ever 007 , best actor, best director, best music, best scenes, best locations, best dialogue , can't find anything wrong. just love it.
All James Bond movies are excellent from Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craige are like 25 all are, I recommend that you see them even if they are from 50 years ago
Love how the paper falls on the embassy guy's face at the very end as if to add insult to injury over his entire security force being bested by Bond. Not sure if that was intentional or a happy accident.
