- I’m so excited to share the next chapter in my Porsche 911 journey with you all. This time a 370 bhp twin turbo charged 991.2 2018 Carrera with soooo many goodies including a 7-speed PDK transmission, sports chrono clock, 18-way heated / ventilated sport seats, moonroof, graphite blue exterior / black interior, the valved Porsche Sports Exhaust, PASM, PDLS headlights… and more!! I can’t wait to introduce you to 'Bluey Two’y'!

Nice. I made the jump this past February from the 991.1 C4S after 140,000 miles to 991.2 C4S and I was totally blown away. The power delivery is just amazing.

Congrats James!!! Awesome Car and Color. I think you will love the Tune, my new Daily is an S5 2015 running on Corn LOL it's a huge difference from stock. I am sure once you get your Tune you will feel the same. Lastly if prices drop a bit I'll going the group with a 991.2 for now the 993 still my only P CAr.
I have the same car with a chalk + blue interior it always gets compliments for “the color.”
I agree, there’s no turbo lag. Put your foot in it and you’ll be at 120 in no time.

Love that color, congrats on your new ride enjoy it! I have 2015 991.1s. I do find it took me a bit to get used to be in the right rpm range to really get it going. The 991.2 I saw a video with someone driving out of gear and getting excellent acceleration throughout with the turbos
I am so excited as I just got a 991.2 carrera and am wanting to do some of these mods you are speaking about. So far, I have upgraded to the sport front spoiler (Love the look). The softronic ECU flash is on my list. So much horsepower and torque for the buck. Can't wait to see you do this and a lot more. I have seen some on Rennlist adding adding Porsche side skirts from the 991.1 RS or GTS. Look at that option as well, please!

Congrats…. Definitely a beauty. Have a 991.2 base as well. Everything you’ve said in this video rings true to my heart. Did quite a bit bit of research on ECU tunes….Cobb, APR, etc Went also with softronic and it is absolutely beast. Also done the calipers in red inspired by your 991.1 video. Although less circumspect about infringing on the S red. Enjoy!

James, congrats on the .2-- It is awesome, you will love it. You have have inspired my maintenance and mods on my 997 C2 CAB and my 991.2 C2 CAB. Keep up the great work. Just did the front Pads and Rotors last weekend….they are red because of you!!! Considering an ECU tune as well….

Congrats on the .2. I just did the same about a month ago and as much as I loved my .1 this one is so much more fun to drive. Excited to see some of your mods already, which I have wanted to do also. Before you jump into the performance, maybe for the channel try a Sprint Booster and see what you think. So many nay sayers on the SB but for turbo cars, it really adds another element of fun. Would be great to see you try it and with your following share the outcome. I have used for years on other turbo cars and now its a must have for me.

In white, black chrome and black everything else. And a bunch of interior stuff…. Burmeister etc.

Those are the best, but guys usually ruin them by only showing the video when they’ve been driving it for a bit, and it’s just not the same. Congrats!!!

Beautiful car, I've got a close sibling, 2017 graphite blue base. I love the Softronic tune that I did earlier this year. Now I really need to get up to Tail of the Dragon if you guys do another road trip.
We're planning a return trip in early June!
James, FYI I have heard that the guys who have done the H&R springs end up with a harsh ride….and have utilized other options. FYI we meet at one of the recent Sportscar Together Festival events at Indy if I am not mistaken. Love the new car. These little Turbocars are terrific and the Tune’s make them come alive. Cannot wait to see what happens next.

You'll need upgraded bypass valves to run stage 1, as stock valves over the years would get soft. Good luck and congrats!

it’s graphite blue metallic which was one of the special options available for the 991.2. It became a PTS color with the 992.

Great videos James, I just picked up a base 2018 991.2 as well with PSE and 7 speed manual. I'm super excited...considering a tune however not sure which Cobb, APR, VividRacing, or Softronics? Why did you choose Softronics over other brands and realistic torque/hp gains? Any feedback would be appreciated. Keep the amazing videos coming. Thank you.

Unfortunately...I've still got a year and half left on my warranty and service (I bought the extended warranty when it expired and prepaid for the services) but I'm keen on the ECU tune, filters, cat and headers...may be intercoolers too. That's about what I'm thinking about doing as soon as the warranty expires.
*Here in my country any changes to the factory setting voids the warranty to that part, even adding coding for Android Auto voids the warranty on the PCM system.

I have the Softronic tune on my 17 Base. Fantastic tune with more than enough power and no drivabiltiy problems. More power than the 991.2 GTS and you keep the response of the smaller turbos.

didn’t think i like that blue/grey paint until your car. ❤. Be careful with the tune though, did the same on my 991.2 base via a reputable tuner and noticed after a while it developed a lot of smoke on startup. Really got under my skin so sold it on as engine rebuild was too scary
Congrats on the new color. Beautiful color. As for your turbo lag comment, lets remembered you had one of there weakest 991.1 3.4 cars I have ever seen a dyno of, so your reference is probably a bit skewed. I drove a .2 S and a GTS before going back to buy a 991.1 GTS, the turbo lag is very much there and it taunts you every time you ask for power. Of course the low end TQ of the .2 cars is awesome, enjoy in good health
Those yellow dials don’t seem like much from here.
But trust me, they lift the 911 experience more than they possibly should.

Beautiful car! Have a base 991.2 as well with a manual trans. Full bolt ons, turbo swap and pro tune using cobb. If you have a tuner near you I highly suggest having them pro tune the car on a dyno. Safer and proper ignition timing go a long way for longevity and reliability when it comes to tuning. Best of luck and enjoy!

Nothing wrong with a stock ride height if it suits the kind of roads you encounter.
Between this and the Cayenne, I’m now subscribed! When is the next Cayenne update? I’m torn between getting a newer 9Y0 and one like yours. Getting one like yours means more budget for a fun car.
If it helps, the seats in the newer Cayennes aren’t nearly as comfortable as the ones in my model. Spend your extra money on the fun car.

Base engine has the fastest response time. Larger turbo blades on each step up in hp is done with larger turbo blades and the lag increases.
